Educational technologists are often asked to provide assistance in the identification or creation of assistive technologies for students. Individuals with visual impairments attending graduate schools are expected to be able to work with data sets, including reading, interpreting, and sharing findings with others in their field, but due to their impairments may not be able to work with standard displays. The cost and time involved in preparing adapted graphs based on student research data for individuals with visual impairments can be prohibitive. This chapter introduces a method for the rapid prototyping of tactile graphs for students to use in data analysis through the use of spreadsheets, internet-based conversion tools, and a 3D printer.

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the diagnosis and the cost of patient care for those with diabetes in Medicare. In this analysis, the author used data sets about outpatient claim, inpatient claim as well as beneficiary demography information for the year 2004, all of which were taken from the Chronic Condition Data Warehouse provided by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid. The author analyzed the cases for diabetic inpatients and outpatients by different methods. For outpatient analysis, exploratory data analysis and linear models were used .The results show that the total charges for diagnoses are reduced considerably for payment. The distribution of the total charges follows a Gamma distribution. The output of the generalized linear model demonstrates that only 15 out of the top 20 primary treatments for charges are statistically significant to the expenditures on outpatients.

Digitalization entails the application of digital technologies to a wide range of existing tasks and enables solution of new tasks. This article is based on data sets on current sales volumes of innovative products to forecast their future sales. The first stage is applying the innovation diffusion in the F. Bass model to calculate the diffusion coefficients of different modifications of Sony’s PlayStation. To estimate factors which influence innovation and related results within firms, the company IMPRINTA producing 3D printers was surveyed. It is shown that taking into account technical parameters, a cascade diffusion model of product innovation is the best for describing the process of product realization. The information obtained from the diffusion analysis of two 3D printer models can be used to improve the efficiency of key business processes, including production, procurement, marketing and advertising. The use of the diffusion model made it possible to generate three different scenarios for the release and promotion of a new modification of one of the 3D printer models depending on the selected niche, the time of market launch and the intensity of the marketing and advertising campaign. Each scenario enables adjusting the cost and technical parameters of the future modification.

Tax evasion is a tax deductible scheme that is owed by violating the provisions of taxation (illegal). Tax evasion is usually done by the company by making false invoices, not recording some sales, or preparing fake financial statements, but the practice of tax evasion like this is often caught, thus the mode of tax evasion is now changing. Perception is the response of something or is the process of knowing some things through the senses. This research is interested to prove the perception of the students of economics faculty regarding the tax evasion, where these students have received taxation class and practice. This study uses questionnaires to obtain students perception data, and use purposive sampling in obtaining sample research. Data analysis technique used is multiple-linear regression. The result of research shows that only discrimination variables affect the tax evasion based on the perception of the students of economics faculty, while the variables of justice, taxation system and understanding of taxation do not affect tax evasion based on the perception of the students of Economics Faculty, Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya University.
