Nowadays, people are using lots of websites for searching and retrieving information. Most of the websites keep information in a simple format with all information simply linked with each other. Such type of information has less accuracy. So, there is utmost important to work on knowledge-based, information presentation. Hence, the advent of the semantic web called intelligent and meaningful web is a new trend in the area of web development. Ontology is a key term widely used in the development of the Semantic Web. It is an idea, which strongly focused on class, object, and relationship relatively than information. Protégé is a tool widely used for ontology development and customization. It has a user interface for ontology results visualization. It provides a view for a developer for a strong focus on creating knowledge rather than syntax. It provides the flexibility to add-on more additional features by the extendable plug-in. The purpose of this work is to develop a knowledge-based university system. Here, as an example of Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University Delhi has been taken and created a university ontology using protégé tool. It also includes various aspects like classes, class hierarchy, superclass and subclass, and also created a subclass instance for designing class, class hierarchy, query searching, and retrieval process, and the result is demonstrated in graphical form.

The performance of a photovoltaic (PV) system is negatively affected when operating under shading conditions. Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) systems are used to overcome this hurdle. Designing an efficient MPPT-based controller requires knowledge about power conversion in PV systems. However, it is difficult for nontechnical solar energy consumers to define different parameters of the controller and deal with distinct sources of data related to the planning. Semantic Web technologies enable us to improve knowledge representation, sharing, and reusing of relevant information generated by various sources. In this work, we propose a knowledge-based model representing key concepts associated with an MPPT-based controller. The model is featured with Semantic Web Rule Language (SWRL), allowing the system planner to extract information about power reductions caused by snow and several airborne particles. The proposed ontology, named MPPT-On, is validated through a case study designed by the System Advisor Model (SAM). It acts as a decision support system and facilitate the process of planning PV projects for non-technical practitioners. Moreover, the presented rule-based system can be reused and shared among the solar energy community to adjust the power estimations reported by PV planning tools especially for snowy months and polluted environments.

Bali is an island in Indonesia that is rich in culture, for example, is a traditional dance. The traditional dance performance is diverse from one village to another village in Bali. The traditional Balinese dance knowledge should be captured dan documented well in a digital form so that it can be shared easily to different people and generation across the world. The use of ontology as an information representation technique is the preferred solution in this matter because ontology can be used to enhance the development of semantic applications, especially when dealing with semantic webs. In this project, the ontology was built using Protege ontology development tool.  We follow the methontology ontology development method where this methodology clearly describes each of its activity. In this study, we focus to describe two variants of Balinese traditional dance (Barong dance and Pendet dance). In the future, we expect that more type of dance can be documented using our proposed ontology. Keywords: Balinese Dance, Ontology,Semantic Web

Motifs and ontology are used in medical database for identifyingand diagnose of the disease. A motif is a pattern network used for analysis of the disease. It also identifies the pattern of the signal. Based on the motifs the disease can be predicted, classified and diagnosed. Ontology is knowledge based representation, and it is used as a user interface to diagnose the disease. Ontology is also used by medical expert to diagnose and analyse the disease easily. Gene ontology is used to express the gene of the disease.
