This study examines the applicability of an extended technology acceptance model (TAM) that incorporates trust, perceived risk, and self-enhancement as antecedents to the TAM constructs. Data collected from 299 Vietnamese online consumers, through a self-administered survey, were entered into a structural equation model using AMOS 23 to establish causality. The results partially confirm the applicability of TAM to the online shopping intentions of Vietnamese consumer, though contrary to expectations, perceived ease of use does not predict behavioral intentions. Trust and self-enchantment fit well with the TAM; the inclusion of perceived risk as an antecedent is questionable. The findings offer new opportunities for explaining TAM theory in light of Schwartz's value dimensions. This article thus concludes with a discussion of the research contributions and implications.

The purpose of this research is to understand the effect of usefulness, ease of use, and enjoyment towards attitude and intention to use electronic book reader (e-reader). The conceptual model refers to Technology Acceptance Model theory. The research uses single cross-sectional descriptive research design to test the relationship among variables. Data is gathered with self-administered questionnaire survey method with Jakarta State University;s students as respondents. Hypotheses are tested with Structural Equation Model (SEM). The result shows that attitude still holds important role in forming intention, enjoyment comes as the strongest determinant for attitude and intention which emphasizes the hedonic value of e-reader, usefulness indirectly affects intention through attitude, and ease of use only affects usefulness and enjoyment but not attitude.   Keywords: perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment, attitude, intention.

Smart home services (SHSs) afford users an effective lifestyle management system, which provides human-oriented networking of smart devices and applications that enable users to control their homes from anywhere at any time. Despite the benefits of SHSs, however, their acceptance is very low. There remains a gap in the literature in terms of a comprehensive model that addresses users’ intention to use SHSs. To address this gap, the present study explored the factors that influence SHS acceptance among users based on well-established theoretical frameworks, such as the technology acceptance model, innovation diffusion theory, and the theory of planned behavior. To this end, the study integrated four additional factors, namely, perceived convenience, perceived connectedness, perceived cost, and perceived privacy risk, into the exploration and carried out structural equation modeling to quantitatively determine the effects of these factors. Questionnaires were administered to 750 users. The findings indicated that perceived compatibility, perceived convenience, perceived connectedness, perceived cost, perceived behavioral control with perceived usefulness, and perceived ease of use directly and indirectly exerted a significant influence on users’ intention to use SHSs.

This research suggests a model to explain mobile purchase intention via smartphones based on the technology acceptance model to which specific variables to the m-commerce context were added: perceived risk, innovativeness, ubiquity, and trust in mobile internet. To that aim, a quantitative study was conducted with 400 French mobile users (200 buyers and 200 non-buyers) and was based on a purchase simulation of a train ticket on a mobile site up to the point of payment. The results show that the usefulness (explained by the innovativeness, the ubiquity and trust toward mobile Internet) and the perceived risk (explained by the innovativeness) have an impact on the intention to use unlike the perceived ease of use.

As a new type of public health service product, online medical websites (OMWs) are becoming quite popular. OMWs can address patients’ basic medical problems remotely and give health guidance online. Compared to traditional hospitals, OMWs are more convenient and inexpensive, they can usually provide a better service for patients with poor medical conditions (especially in rural areas), and they also contribute to the rational distribution of medical resources. Therefore, key factors that affect patients’ acceptance of OMWs must be identified to contribute to public health. By integrating perceived risk (PR) and the technology acceptance model (TAM), we proposed a modified TAM and clarified how PR and other factors affect patients’ behavioral intention (BI) towards OMWs. A sample of 245 research participants in China took part in this study and the structural equation model (SEM) was used to test our hypotheses. The results revealed that perceived usefulness (PU) is a positive predictor of BI but has no significant effect on attitude (ATT), while perceived ease of use (PEOU) can affect BI through PU and attitude (ATT). Moreover, trust (TRU) was identified as a mediator of PR and PU/PEOU. Also, the doctor–patient relationship (DPR) was shown to moderate PR and TRU. In order to increase patients’ BI, OMW providers need further innovations to improve patients’ TRU and reduce their PR.

This study investigates the role of perceived ease of use as an intervening variable between two external factors from the technology acceptance model (TAM) and Accounting application (MYOB) usage intention. This paper broadened TAM by enhancing external factors: performance expectancy and effort expectancy. Seventy-nine accounting students responded in this study. Employing Structural Equation Model (SEM-PLS) concludes that perceived ease of use fully intercedes the connection between effort expectancy and MYOB usage intention. Besides, perceived ease of use also intervenes the association between performance expectancy and intention to use MYOB accounting application. However, the type of mediation is complimentary mediation. The practical and theoretical implication is discussing in this paper.

With the concept of sharing economic entering into our lives, many parking Apps are designed for connecting the drivers and vacated parking spaces. However, there are not many drivers who use the mobile Apps to reserve and find available parking spaces, which is largely due to the insufficient information provided by the parking App. In order to better explain, predict, and improve drivers’ acceptance of parking App, the conceptual framework based on technology acceptance model was developed to establish the relationships between the drivers’ intention to accept parking App, trust in parking App, perceived usefulness of parking App, and perceived ease of its use. Then structural equation model was established to analyze the relationship between various variables. The results show that the trust in parking App, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and parking App attributes are the main factors that determine the intention to use parking App. Through the test of direct effect, indirect effect, and total effect in the model, it is found that perceived usefulness has the largest total impact on acceptance intention, with a standardized coefficient of 0.984, followed by parking App attribute (0.743), perceived ease of use (0.384), and trust in parking App (0.381).
