The European Space of Higher Education (ESHE) is a new conceptual formulation of the organization of teaching at the university, largely involving the development of new training models based on the individual student’s work. In this context, the University of Granada has approved two plans of Educational Excellence to promote a culture of quality and stimulate excellence in teaching. The Area of Environmental Technology in the Department of Civil Engineering has developed an innovative project entitled Application of new Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to the Area of Environmental Technology teaching to create a new communication channel consisting of a Web site that benefits teacher and student (“Environmental Studies Centre”: http://cem.ugr.es). Through this interactive page, teachers can conduct supervised teaching, and students will have the tools necessary for guiding their learning process, according to their capacities and possibilities. However, the material is designed to serve as a complement to the traditional method of attended teaching.

The article is devoted to methodological problems of personnel management: the problem of ethical values in the management of an organization, the problem of the relationship between ethics and economics, the problem of synthesizing positive and normative approaches within the framework of economics, the problem of balancing the basic values of the work ethic of an ethnos and socio-economic institutional factors of modern society. A classifi cation of ethical dilemmas in the organization is proposed: dilemmas at the individual level (professional ethics of the personnel manager), at the organizational level (ethics of the organization) and at the social level (economic ethics). The article shows the new ethical problems to which the spread of new information and communication technologies leads. The authors conclude that the humanistic economic theory of a civilized society has been developing.

The purpose of the article is to investigate the influence of information culture on the formation of a superhero image of the XXI century. The research methodology includes such methods as analysis, synthesis, and systems approach, which makes it possible to trace and determine the vector of influence of information culture and digital processes taking place in connection with the informatization of society, on the transformation of the image of a superhero. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that virtual and augmented reality in the popularization of Ukrainian superheroes acts as a phenomenon that is considered not only as a result of interaction with people but also as an artifact of the new information era; the peculiarities of becoming a national hero as the basis of self-identification of modern Ukrainian society in the context of the specifics of information and communication technologies, are analyzed. Conclusions. Information culture is considered as a sphere of culture associated with the functioning of information in society and the formation of information qualities of a person. However, the phenomenon of the influence of information culture on the formation of the hero's image through the basis of society's self-identification in the modern dimension still remains unexplored. On a personal level, a person is surrounded by images, contradictory and disproportionate, and begins to simply consume the symbols and images of newly created superheroes. The structure of information culture includes a worldview component that provides motivation for information training of the individual; knowledge of the information environment, the laws of its operation, the ability to navigate in information flows. The information level of modern man is determined by his information culture, and the information culture of the individual, as a culture in general, reflects the active creative activity of man, and, accordingly, the development of man himself as a subject of this activity.

Using the example of the Masters in Records Management by Distance Learning at the University of Nortumbria at Newcastle in the United Kingdom, the article will explore the potentials of the new information and communication technologies and the implications for using them as a means of delivery for education for information professionals. The key challenge is to ensure that the education instils not only an awareness of the technologies and skills in their use but also the capacity to understand and evaluate their potential since they are the prime tools of trade for information professionals today. An effective approach is to study the technologies through using the technologies but success can only be achieved if the wider systems of processes and approaches, based on teamwork, are developed to recognise specialisms and divisions of labour.

Abstract Introduction: The License, Master, and Doctorate (LMD) reform which structured high studies in three cycles was instituted since the Bologna declaration on 1999. To be conformed with international standards, the LMD system was instituted in university of Lomé in 2009 to foster flexible pathways between medical and paramedical training. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the LMD reform since its introduction in medical school of Lomé.Method: It was an opinion survey conducted in 4 months in University of Lomé among the medical school’s teachers about strengths and weaknesses of LMD reform since its application. The strengths were defined as all facilities brought by LMD reform in organization of courses and practices, evaluations, new Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) (internet, video projector, courses on line). The LMD weaknesses were defined as any problem generated by the LMD. Results: Seventy-six out of on 113 resident teachers of the medical school of Lomé had completed the questionnaires (67.2%). Mostly teachers (74) took that the introduction of LMD reform will make Lomé medical school on international standards. The availability of the video projectors was noted by 90.8% of the teachers and used for teaching in (82.9%). No course dispensed in medical school was online. The main strengths of LMD were: best student’s evaluation (33.3), the organization of training in units with credit (28.6), using new ICTs (23.8%). Many weaknesses of LMD reform were noted by teachers: the plethoric number of students (36.2%), the absence of intermediate diploma and pathways between studies (29.3). The Insufficiency of personnel resources and material was also mentioned. Conclusion: This study highlights that LMD reform needs adaptation to local realities and improvement to ensure that students will get good training in compliance with international standards.

Information and communication technologies (ICTs) are key to create sustainable higher education institutions (HEIs). Most researchers focused on the students’ perspective, especially during the online teaching caused by COVID-19; however, university teachers are often forgotten, having their opinion missing. This study’s objective was to determine the factors that contribute to the inclusion of ICTs. The research based on a comparative study through an online qualitative survey focused on the inclusion and use of ICTs in two HEIs and two different moments (pre-and post-lockdowns). There were differences regarding country and working experience (p < 0.001), being linked to the ICTs use, evaluation of obstacles, and the role given to ICTs (p < 0.05). The COVID-19 caused modifications of the teachers’ perspectives, including an improvement of the opinion of older teachers regarding the essentialness of ICTs in the teaching process (p < 0.001) and worsening their perception about their ICTs skill (p < 0.05). Additionally, an initial model focused only on the university teachers and their use of ICTs has been proposed. In conclusion, the less experienced university teachers used more ICTs, identified more greatly the problematic factors, and considered more important the ICTs, with the perception of all teachers modified by COVID-19.

Health tourism is booming all over the world, and thermal spa tourism in Spain is a type of tourism aimed at integrating with nature, achieving sustainable development. In general, its facilities are located in areas specially protected by environmental legislation. This tourism sector attracts an increasingly wide market segment that has become more demanding and better informed and that more frequently uses the Internet to gather information. Tourists’ shopping and consumption habits are increasingly influenced by new information and communication technologies (ICTs), making these a topic of interest among academics and professionals. Website development has been shown to be an area of innovation for spa facilities, but evidence has also been found that this sector has experienced difficulty in adopting ICTs. This research sought to analyse spa websites’ usability by conducting an exploratory investigation of different websites’ contents. The results reveal that the use of new web technologies by spas is underdeveloped, although these facilities have achieved good positions in Internet search engines due to the synergistic effect of the official tourism websites. That is why most of them tell their story, detail their nature and the protection of their spaces. In this way, spas turn their websites into communication channels that convey to tourists their commitment to the environment and sustainable development.

This special issue approaches information and communication technologies (ICT) visions and their realisation/implementation at various levels, among different actors and from various perspectives. Conceptually, we distinguish three different dimensions, even though those overlap in the individual contributions as well as in empirical reality – namely ideational, instrumental, and relational. The different contributions address both visions formulated by the Chinese state and by individual actors such as entrepreneurs. Even though the conditions for the use of ICT in China are deeply affected by state governance, this governance is in no way tantamount to one single government. As this issue’s contributions show, state attempts at building a stable cyber-governance are in need of allies and, depending on the allies’ visions and other, competitive visions, the outcomes of these dynamics are seldom truthful realisations of one original grand masterplan.
