The subject of creation of simulation and mathematical models is nowadays more and more current and its application is in almost every aspect of life. The article deals with compiling a mathematical model of a pivoting arm using Lagrange equations of the second kind. Subsequently, the model will be created in the simulation program Matlab/Simulink. The simulation model will as well be assembled in the program Adams. The results of these simulations will be compared in the conclusion. This article presents a procedure for resolving a mechanical system from the beginning, from creation of a mathematical model through creation of a simulation model up to evaluation of the simulation results. This paper presents a procedure for resolving mechanical system from the beginning. Thus, it is done by creating a mathematical model through the creation of a simulation model to evaluate the results of the simulation. According to these simulations will produce a working model of the manipulator, which could be used for teaching purposes.

This paper introduces the features of Simulink software and presents a method for the dynamic simulation of hydraulic proportional system by Simulink. It establishes a mathematical model for hydraulic proportional system based on four-way valve controlled asymmetric hydraulic cylinder. Based on the simulation model, the paper introduces how to use Simulink to simulate the dynamic characteristics of the hydraulic proportional system, and then obtains the main parameters of the dynamic characteristics of the system. The simulation results show that Simulink is an effective way for the dynamic simulation of the hydraulic proportional system.

The driving theory and the dynamic characteristics of small radius steering, medium radius steering and big radius steering is analyzed, and the simulation model is established under Matlab/Simulink. Then the track bulldozers steering performance of the three sheerings is simulated. The results show that, at different steering modes, the running states of the two sides driving motors are not the same, and the track driving forces of the two sides vary widely. The track driving force is great in the small radius steering model, while small in the medium and big radius steering models. The simulation results lay the foundation for dual-motor drive track bulldozers steering performance matching.

The application of pod propulsion has become an important concern in designing a new LNG carrier due to the high maneuverability characteristic. However, podded propulsion LNG carrier is a new concept which is still in the evaluation stage. Practically, the maneuverability of podded propulsion LNG carrier is an uncertainty. Hence, it is essential to assess the ship’s maneuvering characteristics. Z-Manoeuvre assessment is one of the recommended tests for maneuverability prediction. This paper discusses on Z-Manoeuvre characteristic of the podded propulsion LNG carrier. A mathematical model for podded propulsion LNG carrier was presented and a simulation program was developed for the Z-Manoeuvre assessment. Finally, simulations were carried out on both conventional propulsion and podded propulsion LNG carriers. The simulation results show that podded propulsion LNG carrier has a better Z-Manoeuvre characteristic.

In this paper, virtual synchronous converter (VSCon) is modelled which behaves as synchronous generator including its all real-time characteristics in operating inverter. This VSCon is used to synchronize grid and inverter while integrating distributed generated power to microgrids. The frequency and voltage synchronization can be controlled by using synchronous generator mathematical model is installed into the inverter. The whole unit of VSCon operated is simulated in Matlab/Simulink for observing all consequences for synchronizing voltage, frequency and phase-angle. It is verified that the next generation energy resources can be integrated into microgrid making synchronization grid-inverter using VSCon. The simulation results are given to verify the concept of modelling VSCon functioning inverter as a synchronous generator.

The article deals with the preparation of simulation model of mechanism with parallel kinematic structure called hexapod as an electro-mechanical system in software MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation model is composed from functional blocks represented each part of mechanism’s kinematic structure with certain properties. The results should be used for further simulation of its behaviour as well as for generating of control algorithms for real functional prototype.

Considered the theoretical foundation of fractional order, the fractional mathematical model of the Buck-Boost converter in continuous conduction mode operation is built and analyzed in theory. Based on the improved Oustaloup fractional calculus for filter algorithm, the simulation model is framed by using the Matlab/Simulink software. And the simulation results are compared with that of integer order. It proves the correctness of the fractional order mathematical model and the theoretical analysis.

This paper discuss the possible fault about AMT. By using the information redundancy between those parts, the faults of sensors and actuators can be found. In addition, the corresponding tolerant is put forward. Based on the fault diagnosis method, Matlab/Simulink mathematical model of engine, clutch and transmission is built. The simulation results show that the model can satisfy the requirement of fault diagnosis, and has certain tolerances.

This paper aims at investigating the use of an induction wound rotor motor to generate voltage instead of the old diesel engines that are still used in many factories, like old cement factories, in Jordan. In this investigation, a simulation model of induction wound rotor motor was implemented using Matlab/Simulink. The excitation dc current was connected to a two-phase rotor circuit, and the voltage-current performance characteristics were investigated and evaluated under different load types. The simulation results confirmed the possibility of using the induction wound rotor motor as a synchronous generator.
