This study aims to examine and analyze environmental disclosure's effect in mediating the relationship between corporate governance, profitability, and media exposure towards firm value. Total 135 samples of companies that have been listed on IDX in 2015 - 2019 were obtained and analyzed using multiple linear regression. This study showed that corporate governance and profitability increase firm value as investors tend to see corporate governance and profitability as a signal in determining investing decisions. Meanwhile, media exposure and environmental disclosure cannot increase firm value. This study also finds that corporate governance decreases ecological disclosure. Meanwhile, profitability and media exposure cannot increase firm value. Thus, this study also proves that corporate governance, profitability, and media exposure cannot increase firm value through environmental disclosure.

Abstract: This study examines the effect of the relationship between intellectual capital, good corporate governance, and firm value by using competitive advantage as mediation. Design/methodology/approach : This study uses a sample of companies registered in CGPI during the 2014-2018 period. Data analysis using regression and path analysis.Research findings : The research results show that the creation of a competitive advantage is inseparable from the role of intellectual capital and good corporate governance. In addition, competitive advantage is able to increase firm value but unfortunately it is not able to mediate company value.Theoretical contribution/ Originality : This study uses M-VAIC to measure intellectual capital where in this measurement there is additional relational capital, and the use of competitive advantage as a mediating variable.Practitioner/Policy implication : This study proves the resourced-based theory which states that a company can win the competition by having a competitive advantage so that in the end it can increase firm value.Research limitation/Implication: This study only includes CGPI listed companies as the research sample. In addition, the independent variables used are limited to intellectual capital and good corporate governance. Keywords: intellectual capital, good corporate governance, competitive advantage, company value

This study aims to analyze the essential corporate governance determinants of related party transactions (RPTs) in Indonesia. Based on a hand-collected sample of three business groups of small, medium, and large-cap publicly listed firms on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for 2013–2019, panel regression results find that foreign shareholders and firm size have a significant effect, at –2.402 and 0.248, respectively. The moderating model of audit quality shows that domestic shareholders, foreign shareholders, and firm size are significantly negatively associated, with –5.627 and –5.958 at 5%, respectively. Similar results show that foreign shareholders and independent commissioners significantly negatively affect related party transactions at –2.864 and –1.845, moderating the firm size at 10% and 5%, respectively. The moderation of regression results also indicates that audit quality and firm size tend to strengthen negative effects on the association between related party transactions and corporate governance. The moderation interaction confirms that audit quality will determine that domestic and foreign shareholders tend to increase the number of affiliate transactions. The interaction of complete information quality will force domestic and foreign shareholders to increase the role of affiliate transactions in creating firm value. The larger size of the firm, which is owned by foreign shareholders, will increase the intensity of cross-border related party transactions through the combined effects in the context of internationalization with a tendency of expropriation and transfer pricing practices, which can reduce government tax incomes. This article aims at identifying the relationship between corporate governance (CG) and corporate social responsibility expenditure (CSRE) for the Bangladeshi banking sector. CG has been considered as the single independent variable divided into three components: board size (BS), gender diversity (GD) and board members’ interrelationship (BMI), and CSRE has been considered as the dependent variable. Further, a single moderator—firm value (FV) as been employed in order to test the moderating influence. Annual reports from 2015 to 2019 (5 years) of 35 banking firms have been used as samples. The study utilized Pearson’s correlation coefficient in order to test the direct relationships and regression analysis to test the moderating effects. The analysis has revealed that BS and GD are positively associated with CSRE while BMI has a negative association with CSRE. Furthermore, has been revealed that FV can moderate all the direct relationships. The study is expected to aid researchers in further empirical investigation over this important issue and guide policymakers to obtain more representative outcomes to make constructive decisions regarding CG and CSRE that would, in turn, increase FV.

Jordan displayed keen interest in corporate governance in terms of enhancing the quality of financial statements and to restore the investors’ confidence. This study aimed to highlight the role of audit committee and external audit in enhancing companies’ profitability. Since there are contradictions in previous studies results, there is a need to test these relationships in Jordanian context to provide empirical evidence on this issue, especially after the corporate governance application became mandatory since 2009. This study has used industrial sector, which include 91 companies, only 69 companies were included in this study, the other 22 companies were excluded either newly listed or delisted during the study period (2009-2014). Multiple regression were used to analyze the data, the result showed positive relationships between audit committee meeting, audit committee size and companies profitability, while no significant relationship between audit committee composition, audit committee members literacy, audit quality and companies profitability. Such results would be beneficial to companies’ corporate governance committees to play their supervisory role.

The conflict of interest between managers (agents) and the owner (principals) occurs all the time, although the level of the conflict is not always similar. This is because there are separation roles or a difference of interests. In many Indonesian banks, the implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) is mandatory. But, in manufacturing companies in Indonesia, GCG is still not a must. So, what is the role of GCG in conjunction with firm value in manufacturing companies? In addition, many manufacturing companies use earnings management as a benchmark of firm value. It is clear that earnings management can be placed as an antecedent of firm value. The purpose of this research is to analyze the determinants of firm value in relation to earnings management and the mechanism of GCG as a moderating variable. The GCG is not viewed as an antecedent variable. The research sample is 46 companies in the entire industry of consumer goods of manufacturing companies in the Indonesia Stock Exchange. By specific considerations, the number of the sample is reduced to 39 out of 46 companies. The method used is a moderated regression analysis (MRA). The results show that the earnings management and the mechanism of GCG have an impact on the firm value. The dimension of GCG, namely, independent commissioner, managerial ownership, and audit quality can be placed as moderating variables and as determinants of firm value. In order to increase the firm value, it is advisable that this industry should strictly apply the mechanism of GCG as mandatory. However, the issue of GCG as an independent or moderating variable still remains debatable.

Internal audit has been acknowledged as the main driver of corporate disclosure which aims to increase the quality of financial information, to ensure the transparency in financial reporting and to increase the confidence between managers and shareholders. The need for developing strong governance structures has led many researchers to examine the new framework of corporate governance and to explore its relationship to the internal audit process. Regarding Greece, there is a lack of research evaluating the relationship between corporate governance and internal audit. This study examines the above relationship in companies listed in the Athens Stock Exchange. In the present research, internal audit is examined in terms of audit quality and the consulting role of internal audit, in order to highlight the new management-oriented and value adding scope of internal audit. Data was collected via a survey questionnaire methodology and was analyzed using regression analysis. The results show that corporate governance is positively associated to the consulting role of internal audit, to internal audit quality and to the audit committee.
