Abstract: The goal of this article is to demonstrate that there is an aspect of poetics in Le Corbusier’s urbanism and that this theme is maintained and you can see it being transformed through the theoretical models and its derivations. From the methodological and theoretical point of view, we make the assumption that the poetics is the result of the duality between art and function present in his thought, which comes from the historical moment in which his work was made and from his personal background. This analysis is structured by grouping his urban planning works in for phases; the 1920s: the Ideal City; 1929-38: the cities of South America and the viaduct; 1930-50: the Ville Radieuse; after the II World War: the city of 7V and the Unité d’habitation. The final considerations bring back the general vision of his urban planning works and tie it to the concept of utopia. Palabras clave: Le Corbusier, ciudad, infraestructuras, circulaciones, viaductos Many of the images used by Le Corbusier to depict his urban landscape are from the high ways and bridges. This allowed him to change the traditional point of view in two ways: replacing the traditional observer at ground level by the bird's eye and changing the statism of the focal perspective which was replaced with a dynamic traveling from the car. To do this, he borrowed from civil engineering the idea of creating a platform of pilotis, and to putting up the buildings and the streets. He used the superposition of uses that allowed that section as an urban planning instrument to zoning and separate the circulations of the housing. This platform, which at first was limited to the lower level, evolved inspired by motorways and bridges to define some plastic resources that were then essential in its architecture, such as the inhabited viaduct or ramp, always associated with movement and territorial dimension. This analysis reveals the ability of Le Corbusier to translate new technologies into truly abstract forms, his versatility to use the same elements at different scales, his fidelity to their characteristic systems and his ability to generate great icons of modernity through the effective combination of propaganda, images, graphics and slogans. Abstract: The Heritage of the Modern Movement and its conservation is a current topic, not only from the theoretical point of view but also from the practical, that is because the early twentieth century architecture has been needing and assuming interventions to keep up. It is chosen as a subject of study the housing, as well studied by the great archetype of the modern movement and specifically the Villa Savoye as a paradigm of the International Style. Thus, the investigation of this model is to draw conclusions for the preservation of the heritage of Le Corbusier ensuring its permanence in future generations. It has conducted an analysis of the Villa Savoye through stages of time. Each period has been studied through common parameters, giving an overview of the evolution of the elements that shape it and its entirety. The results of this analysis can make a comparative study between the original villa, the villa in its different stages and the current status, specifying what really remains of the villa of 1930. This contribution questions and thoughts arise: Does it matter the conservation of the original matter in the permanence of a milestone? Is it acceptable to inhabit a machine that you can not live in? Architectural authenticity prevails against the historical authenticity in the conservation of the works of Le Corbusier? Abstract: The vertical "hameau" of Le Corbusier is a prototype of collective housing, developed as a plastic alternative to “Unité d’habitation de grandeur conforme", perhaps his most synthetic work. The residential tower is generated from urban doctrine of 7V theory through the shape of one of the elementary forms: the cylindrical volume. The towers keep capacity, shape and dimensions unchanged in any urban environments where they are inserted: the unbuilt urban projects in his last stage in Europe. Far from being a genuine type, is based in other previous constructions; the children's summer camps sponsored by the Fiat factory in the 30s, and some residential experiments by French architect Auguste Bossu erected by those years in the city of Saint-Etienne. The article describes the relationship between these structures and the cylindrical villages for singles and analyzes the peculiarities of their formal structure and the dynamic of their internal organization in order to check how those constructions were adapted by Le Corbusier for the constitution of a new collective type dwelling which still remains in the shadow of his most famous projects.  Palabras clave: Le Corbusier; hameaux verticaux; comuna cilíndrica; torre residencial. PurposeOver the past several decades, there has been an increasing trend towards inter-city cooperation, which is an efficient policy option to deal with the challenges from globalization, regionalization and the externalities resulting from urban entrepreneurialism. Specific to China, the city governments, which mainly refer to prefecture-level and county-level governments, have also made many attempts to cooperate with respect to their local economic development and public affairs. Nevertheless, the results of these initiations to cooperate vary to a great extent. Based on a review of regional pollution governance in the Xiaoqing River area, tourism cooperation initiatives at Weishan Lake and transport integration between Jinan and Laiwu. The findings demonstrate that China's idiosyncratic institutional background has a significant impact on the shaping of inter-city cooperation. For the most part, leading small groups (LSGs) and their leadership property tend to determine the effectiveness of inter-city cooperation.Design/methodology/approachTo examine the effect of the LSGs, we categorize them into three types, groups with strong leadership, weak leadership and self-forming leadership. Through reviewing regional pollution governance in the Xiaoqing River area, tourism cooperation initiatives at Weishan Lake and transport integration between Jinan and Laiwu, we try to probe the role of leading groups in the settlement of cross-administrative border issues.FindingsBased on these three cases, the conclusion can be drawn that the leadership type of the LSG can exert an important influence on the efficiency of inter-city cooperation. If there is a leader with a higher administrative rank or authority, the cooperation can be quite efficient. Otherwise, the cooperative ending might be very negative. In terms of the operation principle, we can infer that even though the cities are always self-development oriented, the leader with higher authority or a strong coordinating capacity can convince and persuade the city leaders to overcome their self-centered behavior template and boost the cooperation to March on smoothly. Also, it means that the LSG is constrained by its personalistic characteristic. Key command derives from the person who chairs the LSG other than specific rules and norms. If the lead of the LSG leaves his position, the cooperation might just become paralyzed. From this point of view, the lack of legal basis remains to be the LSGs' significant deficiency and the future reform should attach more importance to the legalization of the LSGs so the operation of LSGs can be more standard and stable.Originality/valueMany scholars have proposed their own theoretical models to explain the reason some cities successfully and effectively form cooperative relations, while the other cities do not. However, their models do not consider the idiosyncratic context of China or, how and to which extent LSGs can promote cooperation. Therefore, this paper seeks to probe which path in the context of China cities usually follows in the formation of joint efforts, and what role LSGs play in enabling cities to cooperate.

AbstractThe pre-white dwarf pulsators of PG 1159 type, or GW Virginis variable stars, are in a phase of rapid evolution towards the white dwarf cooling sequence. The rate of change of their nonradial g-mode frequencies can be measured on a reasonably short time scale. From a theoretical point of view, it was expected that one could derive the rate of cooling of the stellar core from such measurements. At the cool end of the GW Virginis instability strip, it is predicted that the neutrinos flux dominates the cooling. PG 0122+200 which defines the red edge of the instability strip is in principle a good candidate to check this prediction. It has been followed-up through multisite photometric campaigns for about fifteen years. We report here the first determination of the rate of change of its 7 largest amplitude frequencies. We find that the amplitudes of the frequency variations are one to two orders of magnitude larger than predicted by theoretical models based on the assumption that these variations are uniquely caused by cooling. The time scales of the variations are much shorter than the ones expected from a neutrino dominated core cooling. These results point to the existence of other mechanisms responsible for the frequency variability. We discuss the role of nonlinearities as one possible mechanism.

This article proposes a theoretical point of view in order to show the importance of the collective memory and the urban narrative in the strategic approach of the urban project. The capacity of a municipality to build a local narrative joining the past, the memory and the project, is examined in the second part of the article, in a case study of a collectivity confronted with the project of the Grand Paris and strong socio-spatial transformation since 1950. The conclusions of thirty deep interviews, conducted on the people involved in the city organization allow to differentiate legitimated and rejected places in the spaces of remembering, and the difficulties of this kind of municipalities to be pro active in the Grand Paris project.
