Sustainable mobility is gaining increasing attention as it is seen as an approach to effectively reduce automobile travel and simultaneously encourage other modes of travel. To this end, it is imperative that scholars provide planners and policymakers with adequate empirical evidence to enable them to make informed decisions. In this sense, this study attempts to understand how socio-demographics, urban form (town center proximity-walk accessibility and other locational characteristics), perception and satisfaction pertaining to public transport influence automobile trip frequency. It particularly employs a partial least square structural equation modelling approach with the aim of appreciating the complexities in the land use-travel behavior interaction with the aid of data from the 2012 National Household Travel Survey of Ghana. The paper finds that the main explanatory factors identified in the land use-transportation-travel behavior literature are deemed significant in the case of Accra with socio-demographics yielding the largest magnitude. Also, public transport satisfaction turns out to have a negative influence on automobile trips.

Cities and urban centers are made for people and not vice versa. However, many policies on urban formation fail to take cognisance of human factors in their design and planning. Restructuring of cities to accommodate the economics and environmental demand of urbanisation alters the organic urban form. Modernists often concentrate on road construction, fresh air circulation, light, space, space for vehicles, etc., but ignore city architecture's social dimension. This study explores the psychological aspect of cities and housing due to the trends in the land-use change in sustainable city agenda with specific reference to Ibadan City. This work is an extract of research on the community perspective of land-use change on social sustainability. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire from 397 residents of the Central Local Government and analysed using Partial Least Square - Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) and Relative Importance Index (RII). The results show the urban form characterised by land-use change and its consequential effects on social sustainability. The alteration of the urban form through land-use changes by individual landowners' decisions impacts others' social sustainability. It was recommended that policymakers incorporate the sustainable social elements into the planning procedure.

Organizational cynicism has been an area of concern for the management of higher education. The purpose of this study is to examine whether the academic perception of person-organization fit has a significant impact on organizational cynicism. Data for the research was collected through a self-administered survey and was analyzed using partial least square structural equation modelling. The findings of the study revealed that the person-organization fit has a significant and negative influence on the cynicism. These findings showed that management reduces negative attitudes among academics by adopting strategies that not only fulfil employees’ needs and preferences but also conform to their values and goals. The limitations and directions for future research are also discussed.

Information about the factors that influence turnover intention is needed by managerial in providing strategic steps to overcome the negative effects of high turnover intention. This study aims to analyze the effect of turnover intention on employee performance with organizational commitment as a moderator variable. The sampling method used was the proportionate stratified random sampling technique. The research data used respondents' perceptions of the variables, then analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method. The results of this study indicate that turnover intention has a negative relation toward employee performance and commitment, although not significant. This condition can occur because of tugging to get high-performing talents in the service industry. This condition is triggered by the increasingly open competition in the world of work so that employees are aware of having to create a positive impression for the company to be left, which will usually be a recommendation to the next destination company. High organizational commitment is an important factor in improving employee performance. High organizational commitment will reduce the desire of employees to leave a company (turnover intention) and reduce the negative influence on employee performance, so that despite high turnover intention, employee performance is remaining high. This happens especially in service companies whose main capital is human resources.

This study aims to see the effect of VACA, VAHU, STVA, and VAIC on financial performance and competitive advantage, as well as the role of competitive advantage in mediating the effect of VACA, VAHU, STVA, and VAIC on financial performance. The population in this study is Islamic commercial banks registered with the financial services authority in 2016-2018. The sample of this research was selected by sampling criteria. Hypothesis testing used in this research is Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) approach and the statistical test tool used is WarpPLS 7.0. The results of this study indicate that VACA has a positive influence on financial performance, VAHU has a negative influence on financial performance while STVA and VAIC do not affect financial performance. Furthermore, this study found that VACA, STVA, and VAIC had a positive effect on competitive advantage and competitive advantage also has a positive effect on financial performance. This research also found that, while VAHU did not affect the competitive advantage that competitive advantage plays a role in mediating the effect of VACA and VAIC on financial performance, whereas competitive advantage does not mediate the effect of VAHU and STVA on financial performance.

People are living longer than they did previously, and the proportion of older people is increasing worldwide. This rapid development will have implications for the transport system, in general, and for travel behavior and accessibility to daily activities, in particular. In recent years, both research and politics have drawn the attention of the public to issues affecting the opportunities of the elderly to participate in everyday life. The debate has so far mostly focused on health issues, with limited work having been done on the ability of the elderly to live the lives they want to considering how they travel. With this view, a theoretical model, grounded in a model of travel and subjective wellbeing was developed to explore the role of perceived accessibility in satisfaction with travel and life satisfaction. Empirical data were collected from a sample of 2950 respondents (aged 60–92) from five cities in Northern Europe (Stockholm, Helsinki, Oslo, Copenhagen, Bergen) and analyzed using partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings confirmed the link between perceived accessibility, travel satisfaction, and life satisfaction. The findings also showed the role of sociodemographic and travel attributes in perceived accessibility and satisfaction with travel, as well as the moderating effects of different age groups. We conclude that this moderating role played by age clearly indicates that we should not treat the elderly as a homogenous group in research and transport planning.

PurposeThis study answers the question: “does the communication of environmental performance transmit positive overall firm performance?” The authors examine the influence of a company's environmental performance (EP) on its overall firm performance (FP) and the mediating role of integrated marketing communication (IMC) on the EP-FP relationship.Design/methodology/approachA survey of firms from the extractive, manufacturing and hospitality sectors of an emerging economy was used in testing our hypothesized relationships. Partial least square structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) was used in analysing the data from 194 firms.FindingsThe study found that EP negatively and significantly influences FP directly. However, the introduction of IMC into the direct relationship changes this effect. IMC was, therefore, found to have a partial and complementary mediation effect on the relationship between EP and FP.Practical implicationsThe negative influence of EP on FP found explains the reluctance of companies towards environmental protection. However, if companies can utilize their communication capacity well enough in creating the necessary awareness among their stakeholder audiences, a positive relationship is created between EP and FP.Originality/valueThe benefits of EP to companies and how companies can turn their EP into gains were not clearly established in the literature. The current study has explained one of the boundary conditions that convert EP, which appears to be a cost to the firm, into a positive influence on FP. This study has, therefore, established the mechanism through which EP affects FP.

The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of online review elements, including electronic Word of Mouth (eWOM) quantity, credibility, and quality, on customer’s online repurchase intention through the mediating roles of online seller trust and perceived usefulness of the website. A partial least square (PLS) based structural equation modeling (SEM) was chosen to evaluate the measurement of research constructs and test the research hypotheses. This research uses data collected through online questionnaires in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The respondents’ criterion was college students who had read online recommendations before making purchases on Bukalapak.com, an e-commerce platform in Indonesia. The results suggest that the credibility and quality of eWOM have a positive direct effect on consumers’ repurchase intention, while the eWOM quantity has a negative influence on repurchase intentions. The eWOM credibility and quality indirectly influence repurchase intentions through trust in the online vendor. The perceived usefulness of the websiteonly mediates the influence of eWOM quality on online repurchase intention. Limitations and further research were also discussed.

This paper discusses and explores the different effects of contractual forms on the satisfaction with public transport (PT) at different urban scales. Using public transport systems in 12cities in China as the focus (four large-I-sized cities, four large-II-sized cities, and four medium-sized cities), a measurement model of the passenger satisfaction index (PSI) is constructed and estimated on the basic of the adjusted European Customer Satisfaction Index (ECSI) and Partial least square-structural equation model (PLS-SEM), respectively. Then, a two-stage truncation regression bootstrap model is proposed to assess the different effects between them. The major findings of this study are summarized as follows: (1) different effects of contractual forms on PT satisfaction in large- and medium-sized cities are confirmed. (2) In large-I-sized cities and lager II sized cities, operators supervised by management contracts incite higher PT satisfaction levels than those supervised by gross and net cost contracts. (3) In medium-sized cities, operators supervised by gross cost contracts provide incentives to be the satisfaction compared to those of management and net cost contracts. According to different urban scales, different and appropriate contractual forms and supervision mechanisms should be chosen to regulate public transport services.

This study examines the influence of locus of control, performance, organizational commitment onacceptance dysfunctional audit behavior (prematur sign off, underreporting of time, and altering replacing auditprocedure). This study aims to determine the motivation of work to mediate the effect of training and work environment on employee performance at PT. Telkom Witel Yogyakarta Yogyakarta. The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze 1) the effect of training on employee performance at PT. Telkom Witel Yogyakarta 2) the effect of training on employee performance through motivation at PT. Telkom Witel Yogyakarta 3) the influence of the work environment on employee performance at PT. Telkom Witel Yogyakarta 4) the influence of the work environment on employee performance through motivation at PT. Telkom Witel Yogyakarta. This study uses primary data through research on 62 respondents. Structural Equation is used to analyze data, using PLS (Partial Least Square) version 2.0. The results of this study indicate that there are 1) positive and significant influence of training on employee performance 2) positive and significant influence of work environment on employee performance 3) positive and significant effect of training on employee performance through motivation 4) positive and significant influence of work environment on employee performance through motivation.
