The development of botanical science and the improvement of methods used to identify the boundaries of species lead to constant changes in the criteria and volume of species in various systematic groups of plants. Currently, to solve these problems, modern methods of geno- and chemosystematics (for example, use of PCR, ITSS, and other markers), methods of discriminant and factor analyses, assessment of boundaries of ecological and climatic niches of different species, approaches of chemosystematics and metabolomics are used. However, the emergence of a large number of different modern approaches to estimate the volume of species has not simplified the task of plant taxonomists. Instead, it gave them the task to select or reasonably combine reliable methods. The latter would allow to progress in solving this difficult tasks and set priorities for the development of an integrated methodological approach to the study criteria and volumes of species.

AbstractThe Pyrenean desman is a vulnerable mammal species endemic to Pyrenees and the northern Iberian Peninsula. The presence of this elusive species can be most easily detected by sampling its faeces. However, these faecal samples can be confused with those of other vertebrate species living in the same habitats. This study provides two easy and reliable methods for the identification of the Pyrenean desman faeces based on genetic analyses. The first one consists of a nested PCR and sequencing of a mitochondrial cytochrome

The article is devoted to the novel methodological approach to assessment of function of the myocardium and the left ventricle as a whole with the help of modern methods of processing ultrasound images obtained by echocardiography. It contains presentation of theoretical prerequisites for elaboration of a new direction, as well as mathematical computations basing on which quantitative parameters for assessment of myocardial function and blood flows within chambers of the heart were obtained. The fundamental principle in assessing these parameters was the use of the phase structure of the cardiac cycle.

Abstract Each medical doctor should be able to complete professional tasks using their knowledge of physics, especially when providing a comprehensive care to a patient. This article reveals how to use knowledge of the course of physics specially developed of a Medical University to help trainee medical doctors to develop skills to complete professional tasks. Content of physics and its tasks for a Medical University must be professionally oriented. This article provides a classification of professionally oriented questions of physics specially made to be taught at a Medical University. It also gives content a sample of a professionally oriented task in physics for a Medical University. All these above mentioned tasks are closely correlating with each other. As an example, the article explains specific of teaching Biophysics at a Medical University. Professionally oriented content of Biomechanics - modern methods of study properties of materials used for dental care. Methods of physics for destructive inspection testing: tensile strength, compressive strength, hardness of materials, Poisson's ratio, fluctuating stress and dynamic testing etc. Methods of physics for non-destructive inspection testing: thermal, acoustic, optical, radio-wave, radiative, capillary, magnetic and electric testing.

Currently, modern methods used to evaluate the effectiveness of investment projects are most focused on quantitative assessment, do not take into account the peculiarities of project implementation at different stages, and also lack the ability to take into account investment risks in conditions of sectoral characteristics. Risks are associated with postponing the implementation of the investment project over time, so taking into account uncertainties should be an integral part of the assessment of the effectiveness of projects. When creating and implementing an investment project, it is necessary to take into account innovative, commercial, technical and technological, financial risks. Therefore, it is proposed to improve the methodology for assessing efficiency based on the risks taken into account in calculating the discount rate for each phase of the life cycle of the project. In the article, the authors substantiated the need to apply systematic analysis, modern methods, a methodological approach to assessing the effectiveness of investment projects in the electric power industry, taking into account the risks taken into account when calculating the discount rate for each phase of the life cycle of the project, which allows you to more accurately calculate the main indicators of the efficiency of the investment project. The main indicators of evaluation of investment projects efficiency and factors influencing decision-making on investment projects, such as inflation, discounting ratios of the corresponding investment sphere, are considered. Applied research, and even more so fundamental, requires significant investments, the return on which at the first stages of the development and implementation of investment projects is difficult to predict. The end result is also obviously not predictable, which makes investing one of the most risky areas of activity of modern companies.

Two localities (Al-Marij and Laik) were selected to investigate the type of Quartz Grains from crustal material formed by evaporation of waters discharged by springs in Hit area, western Iraq, Previous studies on the crustal material (1,2) showed that the water discharged by these springs are associated with Abu-Jir fault system which run parallel to the Euphrates river,Factor analyses of the crustal and soil materials (50 samples analysed for 16 variables)(2) showed five factors; the first factor includes SiO2, Al2O3 and TiO2 with positive factor loading, and CaO, L.O.I. with negative loading and hence lead to the conclusion that the distribution of these variables is a reflection of transported clay material. This study concentrates on the use of SEM to investigate the contribution of Quartz grains found in the crustal material on two selected sites.

During adolescence, physical activity (PA) decreases with potentially serious, long-term consequences for physical and mental health. Although barriers have been identified as an important PA correlate in adults, research on adolescents’ PA barriers is lacking. Thus reliable, valid scales to measure adolescents’ PA barriers are needed. We present two studies describing a broad range of PA barriers relevant to adolescents with a multidimensional approach. In Study 1, 124 adolescents (age range = 12 – 24 years) reported their most important PA barriers. Two independent coders categorized those barriers. The most frequent PA barriers were incorporated in a multidimensional questionnaire. In Study 2, 598 adolescents (age range = 13 – 21 years) completed this questionnaire and reported their current PA, intention, self-efficacy, and negative outcome expectations. Seven PA barrier dimensions (leisure activities, lack of motivation, screen-based sedentary behavior, depressed mood, physical health, school workload, and preconditions) were confirmed in factor analyses. A multidimensional approach to measuring PA barriers in adolescents is reliable and valid. The current studies provide the basis for developing individually tailored interventions to increase PA in adolescents.

Abstract. TV news are essentially cultural phenomena. Previous research suggests that the often-overlooked formal and implicit characteristics of newscasts may be systematically related to culture-specific characteristics. Investigating these characteristics by means of a frame-by-frame content analysis is identified as a particularly promising methodological approach. To examine the relationship between culture and selected formal characteristics of newscasts, we present an explorative study that compares material from the USA, the Arab world, and Germany. Results indicate that there are many significant differences, some of which are in line with expectations derived from cultural specifics. Specifically, we argue that the number of persons presented as well as the context in which they are presented can be interpreted as indicators of Individualism/Collectivism. The conclusions underline the validity of the chosen methodological approach, but also demonstrate the need for more comprehensive and theory-driven category schemes.
