Objective: Based on the environment-individual interaction model and the "evaluation-coping" theory, the relationship between Resilience, Coping Style, Core Self-evaluation and psychological health of disadvantaged children was explored to provide some theoretical support for psychological health intervention research. Methods: Resilience Scale for Chinese Adolescent (RSCA), core self-evaluation Scale (CSES), Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire (SCSQ), General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12) were used to conduct a questionnaire survey among 618 middle school students in South Xinjiang. Results: First, GHQ-12 scores were negatively correlated with RSCA, CSES, and SCSQ scores (r=-0.57/r=-0.56/r=-0.49, P <0.001), and positively correlated with the level of psychological health; second, coping styles is a mediator between resilience and psychological health (mediator effect value is -0.04); third, core self-evaluation is a mediator between coping styles and psychological health, there is "resilience — coping styles — core self-evaluation — psychological health" path. Conclusion: Resilience can directly predict the psychological health of disadvantaged children, and indirectly predict psychological health level through chain mediation of coping styles — core self-evaluation.

Antonio Damasio describes the core self as a witness to one’s own purposeful existence—a possible location for the notion of human dignity. In contrast to the notion of the isolated individual, Damasio defines the self as a conductor created by an orchestra. Daniel Siegel sees the self as a composite entity determined by the flow of information and energy among internal and external events and responses. He also points out the significance of Attachment theory is revealing our need, like other primates, of a secure base; grounded in social relationships with others.

We examined the interaction effect of supportive supervision and postgraduate students' core self-evaluations on academic creativity, as well as the mediating role of creative self-efficacy in this effect. Participants were 348 Chinese postgraduate students. The results show that supportive supervision was positively associated with students' academic creativity, and that creative self-efficacy mediated this association. Students' core self-evaluations and supportive supervision had a synergistic interactive effect on creative self-efficacy, and creative self-efficacy partially mediated the interactive effect of supportive supervision and core self-evaluations on students' academic creativity. The positive indirect effect of supportive supervision on students' academic creativity through creative self-efficacy was stronger when core self-evaluations were highly positive, compared to when they were less positive. The implications of these findings are discussed.

Dalam lingkungan pekerjaan yang sangat dinamis dan penuh ketidakpastian, organisasi atau perusahaan membutuhkan sumber daya yang dapat diandalkan untuk dapat bertahan, bersaing dan berkembang. Salah satu bentuk sumber daya yang dapat digunakan adalah kreativitas karyawan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti hubungan tidak langsung antara core self-evaluation (CSE) dengan kreativitas karyawan melalui peran mediasi motivasi intrinsik, serta melihat peran budaya organisasi pembelajaran dalam memoderasi hubungan antara motivasi intrinsik dengan kreativitas karyawan. Penelitian ini juga melihat hubungan tidak langsung antara CSE dengan kreativitas melalui motivasi intrinsik, yang dimoderasi oleh budaya organisasi pembelajaran pada hubungan antara motivasi intrinsik dengan kreativitas karyawan. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap 144 karyawan BUMD. Uji hipotesis menggunakan Hayes’ PROCESS Macro model 14 menunjukkan bahwa motivasi intrinsik memediasi hubungan antara CSE dengan kreativitas karyawan. Namun demikian, budaya organisasi pembelajaran tidak memoderasi hubungan antara motivasi intrinsik dengan kreativitas karyawan. Hasil juga menunjukkan bahwa hubungan tidak langsung antara CSE dengan kreativitas karyawan yang dimediasi oleh motivasi intrinsik, tidak dimoderasi oleh budaya organisasi pembelajaran pada hubungan antara motivasi intrinsik dan kreativitas karyawan.

Physical exercise is an important way for college students to maintain their physical health, and life satisfaction is one of the important indicators of college students’ mental health. Therefore, this study aims to explore the relationship between physical exercise and life satisfaction of college students. Additionally, we also seek to demonstrate the chain mediating effects of core self-evaluation and positive emotion on this relationship. A total of 794 Chinese college students, 324 men and 470 women, participated in the study. The participants were 17–25years old (M=19.96±1.54). They completed the Exercise Adherence Questionnaire, Core Self-evaluation Scale, Positive Affect and Negative Affect Scale, and Satisfaction with Life Scale. Results showed a strong positive relationship between physical exercise and life satisfaction and verified the mediating effect of core self-evaluation and positive emotion on this relationship. The results also confirmed the chain mediating model between physical exercise, core self-evaluation, positive emotion, and life satisfaction. It enlightens us that we should pay more attention to the organic combination of students’ physical activities and mental health education.

Nurses are facing real stressors due to patients’ needs and leaders’ demands. The aim of this study is to explore the perceived level of core self-evaluation (CSE), leader empowering behavior (LEB), and job security among Jordan University Hospital nurses in Amman, the capital of Jordan. Furthermore, it investigates the relationship between the selected variables. Differences of gender, educational level, experience, and site of work are also examined with job security. Moreover, it evaluates the contribution of CSE, LEB, gender, educational level, experience, and site of work in predicting job security among Jordan University Hospital nurses. A descriptive cross-sectional design was adopted for this study. A convenience sample of 214 nurses from Jordan University Hospital was completed the CSE scale, LEB scale, and job security scale. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient, t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and stepwise regression were used to analyze the results. The results indicate that job security is found to be at high level, whereas LEB and CSE are found to be at moderate levels among nurses. Significant positive relationships are found between CSE, LEB, and job security. Male nurses and medical/surgical floors reported higher levels of job security than female nurses and intensive care units. Finally, the results show that LEB and gender are significant predictors of job security among nurses. We suggest that managers of nurses should apply leadership behaviors in order to increase their job security and career empowerment.

Background The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic represents an unprecedented situation in the most recent history. It has had a number of negative consequences for individuals and for whole societies. Individual effects of the pandemic include not only loss of life and of physical health, but also deteriorated quality of life. Objective This study examines the effect of core self-evaluations (CSE), social support and fear of COVID-19 on the well-being of university students in Poland during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods We conducted an online survey on a nationwide group of 1,000 students of Polish universities. The survey was carried out between 1 and 15 March 2021. The respondents filled out the following set of tools: World Health Organization Quality of Life Scale, Core Self-Evaluations Scale, Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support and The Fear of COVID-19 Scale. Results The findings showed that core self-evaluations (CSE) were significantly positively associated with well-being in each of the four domains studied: physical health (r = 0.519), psychological (r = 0.763), social relationships (r = 0.465) and environment (r = 0.496). Similarly, social support correlated positively with physical health (r = 0.277), psychological health (r = 0.306), social relationships (r = 0.552) and environment (r = 0.496). Fear of COVID-19 correlated negatively with well-being in the domain of physical health (r = 0.188), in social relationships (r = 0.042) and with regard to the environment (r = 0.071), the correlations were weak. However, the relationship between fear of COVID-19 and well-being in the psychological domain was not confirmed. Conclusion The findings point to the significant role of CSE and the role of social support in the perceived quality of life of young people during the pandemic. They provide valuable data concerning individuals who are particularly vulnerable to the adverse psychological effects at the time of the pandemic. They also prove that research conducted to explore other factors protecting individual well-being in difficult situations, including that of the pandemic, should be continued.
