Introduction: Surfing is a discipline that has considerably increased the number of followers who practice this sport. Research has focused on describing the main variables associated with performance, but not the relationships that may exist between them. Objective: To establish the relationship of dynamic postural balance with respect to the anthropometric profile and physical aptitude in surfers. Material and method: This research is an observational and cross-sectional study of a descriptive-correlational type. The sample included 30 surfers (8 women and 22 men). The variables of the anthropometric profile studied were body mass, bipedal height, body mass index (BMI), sum of folds, body composition and somatotype. Furthermore, physical aptitude was assessed by indirect tests. The data of the anthropometric profile and physical aptitude were correlated with the results of the dynamic postural balance test (Y balance test). Results: For the anterior direction of the Y balance test, the variables that were significant were gender, body weight, bipedal height, sum of folds, adipose mass and Sargent’s jump height (R2 = 0.55). The posteromedial direction of the Y balance test yielded a significant model that indicates that gender, sum of folds and adipose mass are the variables that jointly predict dynamic postural balance (R2 = 0.30). For the posterolateral direction, the model indicates that the BMI, sum of folds, adipose mass, mesomorphism, ectomorphism and performance in the sit and reach test are the variables that influence the performance of the Y balance test (R2 = 0.55). Conclusion: Predictive models were established to determine anthropometric and physical condition variables that would be decisive for the performance of a surfer’s postural balance.

Abstract Background The Chinese military is deepening the strenthening reform and enhancing physical training standards. The sudden increasing in training requirements and outline has increased the pressure of the logistics units, such as medical personnel. Using over-the-counter (OTC) analgesics, such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in the military physical aptitude test (MPAT), has been described as helpful for reducing of post-exercise myalgia (PEM) and improving performance. To verify this hypothesis, we designed and carried out this study. The objective was to explore the effect of NSAID in the performance improvement and relieving of PEM in MPAT. Methods The research subject were military medical personnels who participated in the 2020 winter MPAT in Xi'jing Hospital and Air Force Medical Center both affiliated to Air Force Medical University. The information was collected in the form of measure yourself medical outcome profile (MYMOP2) questionnaires. PEM was assessed using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Test scores including 3000m running and sit-ups were documented detailed. VAS assessment including muscles in lower extremities (LEs) as well as Abdominals (ABs). One of the most commonly used NSAID in clinical practice, etocoxib, was used as an intervention agent in this study. Participants were divided into group A (etoricoxib group) and group B (control group). Given that training intensity and training habits as a impact on outcomes, hence, according to whether they persisted in physical exercise for more than three months, they were subclassified as two subsets: continuous exercise group (A1 and B1), no exercise group (A2 and B2). General information including gender, height, weight and BMI were recorded. MPAT results and PEM were compared and analysised between and within groups. Results A sample of 97 participants were recruited. 41 people were classified as group A, while other 56 people in group B. They were further subdivided into A1 (17 cases) and B1 (27 cases) who had been exercising consistently; A2 (24 cases) and B2 (32 cases) groups that were not. The results showed that MPAT scores in the etoricoxib group are indeed better than those in the no-drug group. Similarly, the VAS score in group A was lower than group B, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The overall results revealed potential effective for pain relief and performance, which meet the hypothesis. The comparison between subgroups showed that NSAID could alleviate PEM after MPAT regardless of whether exercise was insisted or not. Meanwhile, NSAID improved performance in the muscle explosiveness items (sit-ups), which is prone to cause PEM. However, for endurance items (3000m running), as a matter of fact, continuous physical training maybe demonstrated more effective. Conclusion Taking NSAID while participating in MPAT, overall, did improve test scores and alleviate PEM, especially in the explosive force testing projects. Nevertheless, physical training may be more effective in enhancing endurance. To sum up, whether this practice will bring additional harm to the body and worthy of promoting, still needs further research.

Sports is a field of activity towards which people stress significant interest and which has the potential to reach everyone, regardless of their age, social status as well as physical qualities. Among Bulgarian society the question of youth and children’s health is increasingly becoming more actual means are being considered to increase their physical aptitude and overcome the low level of motor activity. The aim of the research is to ascertain the attitude of students of the University of Forestry towards the discipline “Physical education and sports” with the tendency of optimizing the educational process with the premise of improving the physical aptitude as well as the health status of students. A questionnaire survey was conducted in which 90 second-year students of the University of Forestry from the sports groups took part. A substantial amount of the interviewed believes that the educational process of physical education and sports in the University of Forestry could be improved, given that the number of practiced sports is increased and the educational programs are enriched in accordance with modern tendencies.

Thematic justification is determined by searching for ways to optimize the level of human physical activity. Studying the level of physical activity of residents of neighboring countries of Ukraine and Poland, which have differences in systems of education, culture, socio–economic structure, will assist in searching for ways to optimize the level of physical activity of the population of both countries. Special focus of the study will be on the problem of studying physical activity of children and youth, the proper level of which is a guarantee of nation’s health. Research objective is to establish the current state and characteristics of physical activity of 13–15–year–old children living in Poland and Ukraine. Research results. The article provides a comparative analysis of the results of a survey of Polish and Ukrainian 13–15–year–old school students. A comparative analysis of indicators of physical activity of 13–15–year–old children living in Poland and Ukraine was also conducted. It has been established that children of both countries equally prefer sedentary activities in their spare time. Ukrainian school students give a higher evaluation to physical education classes and their own level of physical aptitude. At the same time, there is a tendency among Ukrainian school students towards the decrease of the level of physical activity from 13 to 15 years of age if compared to Polish school students. Conclusions: obtained pedometer indicators are below normal, which is indicative of a sedentary lifestyle of students of this age group (Ukrainian students – 7,9 thousand steps per day, Polish students – 9,7 thousand steps per day). Polish students have a tendency towards increasing the volume of physical activity (13 years old – 8,8 thousand steps per day, 15 years old – 11 thousand steps per day). Conversely, students in Ukraine tend to decrease the volume of physical activity (13 years – 9,9 thousand steps per day, 15 years – 6,7 thousand steps per day).
