Abstract Using a production function approach, we estimate that the economic value of biotic pollination to Georgia’s agriculture increased from $425 million in 2009 to $488 million in 2017 in real terms. We perform spatial analysis to reveal county-level spatial patterns and temporal trends in that value. Using a unique set of pollinator survey data, we also compare the locations of biotic pollinators to the areas they bring the most economic value to, which provides insights on the variation in the dependency of the crop mix to pollination services.

This research is about the valuation of natural resources, especially the direct use value of the Glagah Arjuna (Themmeda fillosa) plant. The objective of this research is to determine the value of the natural resources of the Siregol Protected Forest area in Sirau Village, Karangmoncol District, Purbalingga Regency. The method used in this research is the Production Function Approach method and the data collection techniques use interview techniques (primary data) and literature study (secondary data). The population taken in this study were farmers of Glagah Arjuna Sirau Village, Karangmoncol District, Purbalingga Regency, by taking a sampling of 4 respondents from the total Glagah Arjuna farmers in Sirau Village, the data obtained were analyzed using descriptive qualitative. The results of the research conducted, obtained the total economic value of the ecosystem of the Siregol Protected Forest area specifically for the cultivation of Glagah Arjuna plants of Rp. 3,036,262,500.00. Sweet potato is a type of secondary crop that is widely cultivated by farmers. The problem often faced by farmers is crop failure caused by pests, diseases and drought. This study aims to descriptively analyze costs, income, net income, profits, and analyze the factors that affect the production of sweet potato farming on the coastal land of Gadingsari Village, Sanden District, Bantul. This study uses primary data from 120 farmers taken at random. Data were obtained by means of interviews through questionnaires. Analysis of costs, income and feasibility using a quantitative approach and analysis of the factors that affect the production of sweet potato on coastal land using the Cobb-Douglass production function approach. The results showed that sweet potato farming in Gadingsari Village was profitable with an income of Rp 2,247,361. Sweet potato farming is feasible to run based on R/C, working economy and working capital. Based on the results of Cobb Douglas analysis, seed, K fertilizer, and labor factors have a significant effect on sweet potato production in coastal land.

Setu Patok is a small lake located in Setu Patok Village, Mundu Sub District, Cirebon Districts, West Java Province. Currently it is used as a source of agricultural irrigation, fishing ground, and tourism object. However, all these uses have not been carried out optimally. In this study, the benefits studied were only devoted to fishery utilization in order to find out the Setu Patok Fisheries Economic Value (NEP). The study uses the Production Function Approach or Market Based Aproach method, which measures the value of environmental goods and services based on market value. The study used primary data through direct interviews with fishermen. As a result, it was found that the Setu Patok NEP was IDR 421,494,000/year.

Hospitals have increasingly relied on nurse assistants to support nurses in the provision of patient care, yet knowledge about their contributions to the patient experience in U.S. hospitals is limited. We address this issue by exploring the impact of nurse assistants and registered nurses on an array of patient satisfaction measures from the Medicare Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems. Using linked data for 2,807 hospitals from 2008 to 2016, we employ a production function approach to estimate and plot marginal impact curves for both nurse assistants and registered nurses. We find that although registered nurses are more impactful, nurse assistants are the more underdeployed staffing category. We also find that after meeting certain thresholds for minimal hours, nurse assistants have a comparative advantage in improving patient satisfaction scores in the housekeeping and patient support domain. Given their lower labor costs, further employment of nurse assistants may be warranted.
