Consciousness is primary and unbounded and can be accessed through multiple modalities, including the qualities of the workplace environment. This research explored the proposition that a consciousness-based architecture could improve workplace well-being. It experimentally investigated the potential benefits of Maharishi Vastu Architecture® (MVA) in a business setting. MVA buildings deal with wholeness and the establishment of the parts in relation to the whole. They have a strict East-West directional orientation, and strict proportion and placement of its center and rooms, among other features. A technical consulting company relocated their offices from a conventional building into one designed according to the principles of MVA. All the available employees of the company were tested one month before and one month after the move to the MVA building using a Workplace Well-being Index specifically created for this research. Data analysis comparing the pre and post measurements showed a 8% improvement (p<0.05) in subjective well-being upon relocating to the MVA building. Organizations can thus enhance workforce well-being through holistic workplaces designed for development of consciousness.

This thesis aims to gain a better understanding of iwi and their associated business entities in their post settlement phase and how they maintain their own kaupapa Māori. The study examines the complex environment in which an iwi entity operates. This topic and environment has not been studied previously in academia and will therefore provide a unique insight from the study. The exploration was done through an in-depth analysis of a single organisational case study; the data collection method undertaken was in-depth interviews and document analysis. The study found that the iwi entity has put specific strategies in place to ensure they maintained their kaupapa Māori. A focus was placed on how values and culture are transmitted through human resource practices of recruitment and induction. They did this through formal mechanisms, such as documentation and training, as well as informal mechanisms such as socialisation, history, and oral story telling. What was most unique as a finding was that traditional iwi values and methods were brought through into the contemporary business setting at the iwi entity. Contributions from this study are made to the Māori business and Māori management literature, as well as Strategic Human Resource Management literature and organisational culture literature. In a practical sense there are implications for Māori organisations, iwi entities and non-Māori organisations.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to explore the everyday tasks and activities undertaken by retailer entrepreneurs and owner/managers when they strategize. Specifically, it interrogates the nature of the intuitive, idiosyncratic strategic agency of a retail owner/manager.Design/methodology/approachThrough adopting a combination of phenomenological and narrative approaches, focussing on illuminating the everyday operational and strategic practices of one retail entrepreneur and owner/manager, a richly contextualized, ideographic account of the procedures and outcomes of their strategizing is provided.FindingsBy revealing narratives that are seldom obvious – often kept behind the counter, and not on display – the authors are able to unravel the social reality of the retailer's decision-making, and the influences of identity, connections with customers and community, emotions and the spirit, and love and family. This study also illuminates how entrepreneurs retrospectively make sense out of the messiness of everyday life particularly when juggling the melding of personal and business realities.Research limitations/implicationsThis paper explores the experiences and reflections of the decision-making of one retail entrepreneur manager within a particular business setting. However, the use of an ideographic approach allowed for an in depth investigation of the realities of strategic practices undertaken by a retail owner that may be extrapolated beyond this immediate context.Originality/valueThis paper develops original insights into the retailer as an individual, vis-à-vis an organization, as well as nuanced understanding of the actual nature of work undertaken by retail entrepreneurs and owner/managers. To this end, this paper contributes to the “strategy-as-practice” debate in the strategic management literature, and to narrative analysis and advances insights to the perennial question: “what is a retailer?”.

It is an interrelated framework where every thing has a novel identifier and consequently moves information and works the framework which works in the internet. Be that as it may, it isn't protected to leave the gadgets open since programmers or infections can undoubtedly assault or cut the information of the concerned individual or client. Various high-profile episodes where a typical IoT gadget was utilized to invade and assault the bigger organization has caused to notice the requirement for IoT security. Lacking information insurance (correspondence and capacity) The most regular worries in the information security of IoT applications are because of shaky interchanges and information stockpiling. The aim of this chapter is to explain the value and management of different types of knowledge in an events or music festival business setting, where its potential to maximise profit and help an organisation to outperform its rivals has received less attention in academic literature than other sectors such as manufacturing or information technology. Competition in the events and festivals sectors has increased considerably as more companies join the market, and the nature and scope of events has widened to satisfy consumer appetites for more diverse and engaging experiences. Leaders that nurture, recognise, manage and employ knowledge effectively are more likely to be innovative and successful in their sector. Throughout the chapter, knowledge is explored mostly through the lens of music festivals, although the points made are easily applicable to the wider events, tourism and leisure sectors.

Innovation is a new idea, object, or practice like scientific knowledge, technical products, application method, and tools which are viewed as new facilitators of problem-solving, on-the-spot acceptance, procedure, community, structure, and technology. The number of research in the field of economics have determined that innovation is about creation as well as the adoption of new business models, new product and services. Technological innovations are especially important because they drive the progress of societies. In a competitive business setting, enterprise and entrepreneur or business leaders should continuously pursue new openings/opportunities and make the needed arrangements for converting them into new products, goods, and services. But a new idea scientific method, product, practice, application method, and the tool does not turn out to be an innovation until adopted broadly and integrated into diffusion "a special type of communication process comprising some stages by which an innovation is communicated through certain channels over time among the members of a social system". This paper attempts to clarify in depth the concept of creativity and its distribution to consumers or adopters.

Although there is no agreed upon universal definition of corporate social responsibility (CSR), organizations are often ranked in terms of their CSR performance. However, two glaring gaps have been identified in the CSR literature. First, evaluation methodologies are questionable and often lack a scientific basis and second, stakeholder representation is not made explicit or is missing altogether. This paper contributes to the CSR literature by constructing a CSR index based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), as well as ensuring that stakeholder judgments are an integral part of the constructed index. The developed index is implemented to measure CSR performance in a business setting. An AHP-based CSR Index is developed for the Services Sector in Saudi Arabia to serve as a case study. The developed index is used to measure CSR performance in over forty corporations. The paper adds to the existing literature by providing insight into how the Saudi corporations perceive and practice CSR. The paper concludes that a systematic usage of the developed AHP-based CSR index would facilitate corporations to adopt a more responsible and measurable behavior, while it offers government institutions the option to rank corporations in terms of their CSR practices in a scientific manner.

In contrast to the many studies in the business setting, few sport scientists have studied the predictors of athletes’ perception of justice. The present research aimed to determine the role of the interpersonal style of coaches (autonomy support) in enhancing perceived justice and its impact on satisfaction and performance. More precisely, two independent studies examined whether perceived justice mediated the relation between autonomy support on the one hand and athletes’ satisfaction and their self-rated progression on the other hand. In Study 1, female team dancers ( N = 145) completed questionnaires assessing autonomy support, justice, and satisfaction. In Study 2, male handball players ( N = 102) completed the same questionnaire extended with self-rated progression. Structural equation modeling revealed a positive link between athletes’ perceived autonomy support of the coach and perceived justice. Subsequently, procedural-interactional justice predicted higher levels of satisfaction and self-rated progression, while a significant indirect effect was found from autonomy support to satisfaction. Measurement and path invariance tests showed that the measurement scales and structural models were invariant across both samples. These findings signify the importance of autonomy support and perceived justice to optimize team athletes’ satisfaction and consequently their progression.
