In Bangladesh Henna is one of the most popular cosmetic products. The leaves of Henna are dried to make powder on which oil or water is mixed to get a paste to stain the body or hair. Although the occurance of contact allergic dermatitis in natural Henna is not so common, but this risk is increased by adding para-Phenylenediamine (PPD), which is used to make the Henna color dark to deep black. According to Scientific Committee on Consumer Products (SCCP), para-Phenylenediamine (PPD) is treated as an allergen and is considered as a very strong potential skin sensitizer. The presence of PPD in the commercially used tube Henna increases the risk of allergic contact dermatitis and several cases have already been reported worldwide. For this study, about 10 Henna samples were randomly collected from 10 selected areas of Dhaka city. The presence of PPD in Henna samples was determined by using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The result showed the presence of PPD in all of the Henna samples at substantial concentrations, ranging between 79.12-204.77 mg/kg where the average range is 142.36 mg/kg, which is much higher than the permissible levels (<2% or 0.1 mg/m3). The finding suggests that there should be a regulation and monitoring condition for the production and distribution of these adulterated Henna products in Bangladesh. Abstract Red brick industrial activity which is developing in Srimulyo Village generates pros and cons related to CO gas emissions and the resulting particulates, which affect to the flora diversity. This study aims to identify flora biodiversity in the red brick industrial area of Srimulyo Village, then analyze the effect of the emission value of CO and Particulate Matter (PM) 2.5 on vegetation in the area. This study conducted at 4-point locations for sampling, using Shannon-Wiener formula to determine the biodiversity index. Result obtain low vegetation diversity index and low stability with the average index value was 1.91. The low vegetation diversity index has correlation with the measured value of CO and PM 2.5 gases which above the standard thresholds. The average range of CO gas levels is 353.3-844.7 ppm, and PM 2.5 levels is 1928.7-9517.7 µg/m3. In conclusion, this study shows that the CO gases and PM 2.5 resulted from Red Brick Industrial Area affect to the flora diversity index into a low cluster in the observed location.

AIM: To investigate the safety and efficacy of phacoemulsification with capsular-tension-ring implantation and posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation combined with ophthalmic endoscope-controlled goniosynechialysis (Phaco-CTR-IOL-OE-GSL) for treating secondary angle-closure glaucoma induced by traumatic lens subluxation. METHODS: A retrospective and descriptive study was performed on patients with lens subluxation, angle closure, goniosynechia, and evaluated intraocular pressure (IOP) that cannot be controlled with medication, who underwent Phaco-CTR-IOL-OE-GSL. The postoperative best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), IOP, range of goniosynechia and complications were retrospectively observed. RESULTS: Nine patients with secondary angle-closure glaucoma induced by traumatic lens subluxation were included. The follow-up period was 51.1±8.6mo. The preoperative range of zonule rupture was 158.2°±33.0°, and the range of goniosynechia was 220.0°±92.5°. The baseline BCVA was 0.9±1.0 logMAR, IOP was 30.7±17.3 mm Hg, and number of anti-glaucoma medication was 3.2±1.1. Mild intraoperative hyphaemia with 8 eyes (88.8%) in the anterior chamber, and was absorbed two days postoperatively. One eye (11.1%) had postoperative ciliary body detachment and was recovered after five days of topical drug treatment. BCVA was 0.2±0.2 logMAR at 3mo postoperatively. The average IOP at the last follow-up was 16.7±2.0 mm Hg, and no anti-glaucoma medications were used. The average range of recurrent goniosynechia was 54.9°±33° at the final postoperative gonioscopic examination. CONCLUSION: Phaco-CTR-IOL-OE-GSL is safe and effective in the treatment of secondary angle-closure glaucoma induced by traumatic lens subluxation. The use of an endoscope provides a more direct and clear examination for GSL, and 360° dissection is easily achieved.

We assessed the residual distribution and temporal trend of picarbutrazox sprayed by agricultural multicopters on Chinese cabbage and considered fortification levels and flying speeds. In plot 2, 14 days after the last spraying, the residues decreased by ~91.3% compared with those in the samples on day 0. The residues in the crops decreased by ~40.8% of the initial concentration owing to growth (dilution effect) and by ~50.6% after excluding the dilution effect. As the flight speed increased, picarbutrazox residues decreased (p < 0.05, least significant deviation [LSD]). At 2 m s−1 flight speed, the residual distribution differed from the dilution rate of the spraying solution. The average range of picarbutrazox residues at all sampling points was 0.007 to 0.486, below the limit of quantitation −0.395, 0.005–0.316, and 0.005–0.289 mg kg−1 in plots 1, 2, 3, and 4, respectively, showing significant differences (p < 0.05, LSD). These results indicated that the residual distribution of picarbutrazox sprayed by using a multicopter on the Chinese cabbages was not uniform. However, the residues were less than the maximum residue limit in all plots. Accordingly, picarbutrazox was considered to have a low risk to human health if it was sprayed on cabbage according to the recommended spraying conditions.
