In this work, we deal with partial (co)actions of multiplier Hopf algebras on not necessarily unital algebras. Our main goal is to construct a Morita context relating the coinvariant algebra [Formula: see text] with a certain subalgebra of the smash product [Formula: see text]. Besides that, we present the notion of partial Galois coaction, which is closely related to this Morita context.

Let $r$ and $n$ be positive integers, let $G_n$ be the complex reflection group of $n \times n$ monomial matrices whose entries are $r^{\textrm{th}}$ roots of unity and let $0 \leq k \leq n$ be an integer. Recently, Haglund, Rhoades and Shimozono ($r=1$) and Chan and Rhoades ($r>1$) introduced quotients $R_{n,k}$ (for $r>1$) and $S_{n,k}$ (for $r \geq 1$) of the polynomial ring $\mathbb{C}[x_1,\ldots,x_n]$ in $n$ variables, which for $k=n$ reduce to the classical coinvariant algebra attached to $G_n$. When $n=k$ and $r=1$, Garsia and Stanton exhibited a quotient of $\mathbb{C}[\mathbf{y}_S]$ isomorphic to the coinvariant algebra, where $\mathbb{C}[\mathbf{y}_S]$ is the polynomial ring in $2^n-1$ variables whose variables are indexed by nonempty subsets $S \subseteq [n]$. In this paper, we will define analogous quotients that are isomorphic to $R_{n,k}$ and $S_{n,k}$.

Quasi-Yamanouchi tableaux are a subset of semistandard Young tableaux and refine standard Young tableaux. They are closely tied to the descent set of standard Young tableaux and were introduced by Assaf and Searles to tighten Gessel's fundamental quasisymmetric expansion of Schur functions. The descent set and descent statistic of standard Young tableaux repeatedly prove themselves useful to consider, and as a result, quasi-Yamanouchi tableaux make appearances in many ways outside of their original purpose. Some examples, which we present in this paper, include the Schur expansion of Jack polynomials, the decomposition of Foulkes characters, and the bigraded Frobenius image of the coinvariant algebra. While it would be nice to have a product formula enumeration of quasi-Yamanouchi tableaux in the way that semistandard and standard Young tableaux do, it has previously been shown by the author that there is little hope on that front. The goal of this paper is to address a handful of the numerous alternative enumerative approaches. In particular, we present enumerations of quasi-Yamanouchi tableaux using $q$-hit numbers, semistandard Young tableaux, weighted lattice paths, and symmetric polynomials, as well as the fundamental quasisymmetric and monomial quasisymmetric expansions of their Schur generating function.

Let $n,k,$ and $r$ be nonnegative integers and let $S_n$ be the symmetric group. We introduce a quotient $R_{n,k,r}$ of the polynomial ring $\mathbb{Q}[x_1, \dots, x_n]$ in $n$ variables which carries the structure of a graded $S_n$-module.  When $r \ge n$ or $k = 0$ the quotient $R_{n,k,r}$ reduces to the classical coinvariant algebra $R_n$ attached to the symmetric group. Just as algebraic properties of $R_n$ are controlled by combinatorial properties of permutations in $S_n$, the algebra of $R_{n,k,r}$ is controlled by the combinatorics of objects called tail positive words. We calculate the standard monomial basis of $R_{n,k,r}$ and its graded $S_n$-isomorphism type. We also view $R_{n,k,r}$ as a module over the 0-Hecke algebra $H_n(0)$, prove that $R_{n,k,r}$ is a projective 0-Hecke module, and calculate its quasisymmetric and nonsymmetric 0-Hecke characteristics. We conjecture a relationship between our quotient $R_{n,k,r}$ and the delta operators of the theory of Macdonald polynomials.

AbstractThe coinvariant algebra of a Weyl group plays a fundamental role in several areas of mathematics. The fake degrees are the graded multiplicities of the irreducible modules of a Weyl group in its coinvariant algebra, and they were computed by Steinberg, Lusztig and Beynon–Lusztig. In this paper we formulate a notion of spin coinvariant algebra for every Weyl group. Then we compute all the spin fake degrees for each classical Weyl group, which are by definition the graded multiplicities of the simple modules of a spin Weyl group in the spin coinvariant algebra. The spin fake degrees for the exceptional Weyl groups are given in a sequel.

International audience By investigating the action of the 0-Hecke algebra on the coinvariant algebra and the complete flag variety, we interpret generating functions counting the permutations with fixed inverse descent set by their inversion number and major index.

Several bases of the Garsia-Haiman modules for hook shapes are given, as well as combinatorial decomposition rules for these modules. These bases and rules extend the classical ones for the coinvariant algebra of type $A$. We also give a decomposition of the Garsia-Haiman modules into descent representations.
