This article is dedicated to the linguistic context of functionality of the English military aviation terms in the journal “Rotor and Wing”. The goal lies in revealing the specificity of the linguistic context of functionality of the English military aviation terminology, as well as its structural, semantic and pragmatic characteristics in the journal “Rotor and Wing”. For achieving the set goal, the author aims to determine the most representative linguistic (stylistic, syntactic, grammatical, and  lexical) peculiarities of the journal; which military aviation terms are most and least common for the journal; as well as structural, semantic and pragmatic characteristics of the terms. The novelty lies in comprehensive description of the English military aviation terminology (structural, semantic and pragmatic aspects) and its linguistic context in the professional journal. The research employs the analytical, comparative, and statistical methods. The author establishes the most significant syntactic, grammatical, stylistic, and lexical peculiarities of the journal; as well as structural (most terms are two-component phrases), semantic (presence of the absolute and conditional synonymous terms, absence of polysemy, and  partial presence of antonyms), and pragmatic characteristics of military aviation terminology (terms fulfill the functions that are substantiated by the content and purpose of the journal. The acquired results can be used both in lexicographical practice (compiling the English-language dictionaries, thesauri, glossaries of military aviation terms), and in the practice of teaching the aviation English language.

The military professional training of cadets-military pilots in a military aviation university is conditioned by the trends in the development of military education, its prompt response to the personnel needs of the troops. Aviation units need military pilots who are ready to fulfill the official duties of crew commanders, to solve the urgent task of ensuring flight safety. Training of flight personnel for military aviation does not fully take into account the need to form cadets' competencies as an aviation commander and teacher, which will contribute to ensuring flight safety and increasing the combat potential of aviation units and subunits. The article deals with the problem of flight safety as a factor affecting the national security of Russia, paying attention to the causes of accidents and pilot errors. In the course of the study, it was proved that the military-professional activity of cadets-military pilots is the process of solving professional tasks that ensure the combat readiness of aviation units while observing flight safety conditions. Based on the content analysis of the command and methodological professional tasks based on the activity approach, the leading role of the command-methodological activity has been established. The functional approach and the principle of identification made it possible to identify the functions of the leading command-methodological activity (military flight training and educational, organizational and managerial). Arguments are given regarding the development of cadets not only a set of abilities for command-methodological activity, but also professionally important qualities that integrate command-methodological competence. The structure of competence (motivational-value, cognitive, activity components) is determined taking into account the specifics (leading type of activity) and features (a set of command and methodological professional tasks) of military professional activity. The criteria for the formation of the components of the command-methodical competence (professional purposefulness, intellectual potential, professional responsibility) have been identified. The methodological basis of the pedagogical system for the formation of the command-methodical competence of cadets-military pilots was formed by the system-structural, personality-activity, functional, modular, adaptive, technological and competence-based approaches. The results of the experimental work carried out in the branch of Military Educational-Research Centre of Air Force Air Force Academy in Syzran confirmed the dependence of the cadets' readiness for flight safety activities on the formation of command-methodological competence.

The paper introduces and analyzes the results of research into the development of anti-aircraft missile systems through the example of the first Russian anti-aircraft missile system S-25. The study describes the capabilities of the anti-aircraft missile system as the implementation of the requirements specifications in the context of the development of military aviation technology and electronic warfare means and emphasizes the importance of cooperation between enterprises — developers of guided missile weapons. Although the latter issue is poorly covered in the Russian scientific, technical, and educational literature, it is an important problem in organizing the development of missile systems. The paper is the first to provide detailed data on the content and timing of the stages of modernization of the S-25 system, and also presents graphic material that clearly demonstrates the change in the capabilities of the S-25 system due to an intensive change in the characteristics of military aircraft.

The article deals with the issues of creation and use of aircraft of the type DC-3–PS-84–Li-2 during the war, which was produced in Tashkent. The Second World War showed the superiority and indispensability of aviation technology in the theatre of military operations. If during the First World War aircraft performed mainly auxiliary functions, then during the Second World War aviation became an independent type of military formations and performed a number of tactical tasks in combat conditions. Aviation was used to perform a wide range of tasks. And therefore, since the periods of the war, military aviation has become clearly divided into fighter, assault, airborne cargo and other types

In the activity of military translator much emphasis is put on the work with professionally-related texts. The article deals with the description of military aviation news texts in a foreign media discourse. On the basis of inter-discipline approach a news text is defined as a genre-stylistic variety of a media-text and discourse, as well as its distinctive features and criteria for analysis are described. According to the results of research news texts of military discourse are represented by informative and informative-analytical genres. Informative genres include military headline, breaking news, daily report and informative article; informative-analytical ones comprise analytical article, review and commentary. The article focuses on typological features of distinguished genres, including their functional purpose, structure and composition, content and lexical manifestation. Conclusion has been made that media environment has an impact on genre features of news texts with the aim to influence development of political views of the readers.

Introductioan: Aviation is an activity that many people are interested in at this time, because it can cover one place in a fast time. In international law, aviation is divided into civil aviation and military aviation. The shooting down of the Ukrainian plane by the Iranian military is a unique case because the one shot was a scheduled civilian plane flying over the airspace of a country that is at war or armed conflict.Purposes of the Research: Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to analyze in depth how international air law regulates the shooting of civilian aircraft in the airspace of countries that are in situations of war or armed conflict. Methods of the Research: by using normative legal research methods that use secondary data consists of primary, secondary and tertiary legal materials with a statutory approach and historical approach. Results of the Research: The result of this paper is that the shooting of a civilian aircraft gives a lesson that in situations of war and armed conflict,  Countries involved in war or armed conflict should establish a no-fly zone in their airspace and notify the international community about their country being in a state of war or armed conflict.

The growing demand for composite materials with improved properties is attracting a lot of attention from industries such as automotive, aerospace, military, aviation, and other manufacturing. Aluminium metal matrix composites (AMMCs), with various reinforcements such as continuous/discontinuous fibers, whiskers, and particulates, have captured the attention due to their superior tribological, mechanical, and microstructural characteristics as compared to bare Al alloy. AMMCs have undergone extensive research and development with different reinforcements in order to obtain the materials with the desired characteristics. In this paper, we present a review on AMMCs produced through stir casting routes. This review focuses on the following aspects: (i) different reinforcing materials in AMMCs; (ii) microstructural study of reinforced metal matrix composites (MMCs) through stir casting. Both reinforcing micro- and nanoparticles are focused. Micro- and nanoreinforced AMMCs have the attractive properties of combination such asthe low-weight-to-high-strength rati and, low density; (iii) various tribological and mechanical properties with the consideration of different input parameters; (iv) outlook and perspective.
