In 1969 the entire family moved to Del Mar, a northern suburb of San Diego on the coast. The boys were now all married and had children, so they and Celedonio bought four homes near one another. Del Mar reminded them of Málaga and is where they have remained. They began to tour internationally in the 1970s and to make landmark recordings on the Angel and Philips labels. They also continued to commission works from leading composers, including Joaquín Rodrigo and Federico Moreno Torroba, of which they made definitive recordings. It was during this decade that Pepe and Angel developed flourishing solo careers, while Celedonio and Celin anchored the quartet.
