The COVID-19 pandemic and confinement, as a measure to stop the contagion, have had a strong impact on the mental health of the population. Emotions such as uncertainty, fear of contracting illness and anguish have increased. But, also, positive experiences have emerged that reinforce interdependence and social support, the appreciation of affections and a greater connection and reflection on the way of life. The objective of this article is to delve into the experience of some couples who have been able to constructively face quarantine and who express a positive assessment of what this time of confinement has contributed to their relationship. Three dimensions are identified in which resources have emerged during this crisis: family reorganization and multiplicity of roles, the appreciation of support networks and the strengthening of intimacy in the couple.

The objective of this work is to understand a clinical process of systemic orientation from the perspective of subjective temporality. The work is based on the theory of subjective time and considers its historical and sociocultural dimension, reviewing its main theoretical constructs that will understand couple relationships and therapeutic processes. A clinical case was analyzed a from the perspective of subjective temporality, based on the main antecedents of the case and using clinical vignettes. Participants were a 36- and 37-year-old heterosexual couple who participated in a couple therapy with two therapists trained in systemic therapy for approximately one year. The sessions were videotaped and analyzed through the theory of subjective temporality. The analysis of the subjective temporality constitutes a contribution to the clinical practice, since it allows to understand and to develop an approach centered in the present moment and that allows analyzing the synchrony and encounter of the members of the system.

In this article we will reflect on the possible implications that the pandemic and lockdown has brought upon adoptive families. Some adoptive parents have taken this time as an opportunity to meet and strengthen their bond with their children, others have perceived it as a learning experience. However, for many it has meant an increase of stress that interferes with their parental role. We reflect on the aspects that enhance a secure and protective bond in adoptive families, in which parents welcome their children and their emotions. Adoptive parents who are open to reflect on their own histories and their children’s, are emotionally more available to face the difficulties that life during the pandemic brings.
