The experimental group and the control group were selected by using cluster sampling technique after that the sample selection used simple random sampling. Data analysis was used independent samples t -test. The mean knowledge results of the midwifery update group that had never attended midwifery update training was 55.11, while the mean knowledge results of the midwifery update group knowledge was 75.19. Based on the independent t-test, it was found that the t-count results were -8,987 with a p-value of 0.000 (

One of the causes of high maternal mortality is delivery assistance provided by other than health workers or traditional healers. The way to reduce the bondage relationship is to increase the motivation of cadres to refer mothers to health workers. The DABA method is a modification or development of the SALT method (support, appreciate, learn, and transfer), is a method or technique for forming something, showing that a community has the ability to respond to every challenge including childbirth assistance. The maternal mortality rate is still high, the Inter-Census Population Survey data released by the Central Statistics Agency shows that there were 359 maternal deaths per 100,000 births in 2013. The purpose of this study was to analyze the motivation of cadres by empowering the DABA method for referral for delivery assistance by health workers in Jember Regency. Motivation is the reason that underlies an action done by an individual. The method used was quasi-experimental using 2 groups. This study used the non equivalent control group, pre test post test design. The population in this study were 2220 posyandu cadres in the working area of the health centers in the Jember District. The subjects of this study were 100 posyandu cadres in Jember district in 2019 who met the criteria. The sampling technique was carried out by simple random sampling by selecting from a list of names of cadres in each health center. There was differences (p-value = 0.021) of cadre motivation between treatment and control group. The cadre motivation of intervention group was higher than the control group for referral labor. Having high motivation means having very strong reasons to achieve what he wants by doing his current job. The cadre motivation of treatment group increased significantly, this happened because cadres trained through the DABA method were invited to achieve the dreams they had built, namely to reduce maternal and infant mortality. Training using the DABA method is able to increase the motivation of cadres to make a referral to mothers to give birth at a health service place, so training with the DABA method is highly recommended to increase motivation for certain groups to achieve certain goals. Keywords: cadre motivation; DABA method; childbirth referrals

Background: Ventricular septal rupture (VSR) is a fatal mechanical complication following acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The definitive treatment remains surgical repair, however several aspects are still debatable, including the timing of surgery. Patient’s refusal of treatment and lack of medical facilities put other challenges in management of VSR. Case presentation: A-48-year-old male with a history of diabetes mellitus and hypertension came with a late-presentation anterior AMI, and refused the reperfusion therapy. By the third day, he developed VSR and cardiogenic shock. The patient was also against any referral plan for further therapy. Hemodynamic status was optimally controlled with vasopressor and inotropic agents. The patient was discharged with a grade II-III New York Heart Association (NYHA) on the tenth day. In follow up evaluation a week later, the patient presented limb swelling and functional NYHA class III-IV. The patient agreed to received percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Drug eluting stent (DES) in left anterior descending (LAD) coronary artery was implanted successfully without defect closure. Follow-up after 12-months revealed no signs or symptoms of decompensated heart failure. Keywords: ventricular septal rupture; percutaneous coronary intervention; acute myocardial infarction

Objective: to analyze the effectiveness of Leininger’s Transcultural-based GATHER (Greet, Ask, Tell, Help, Explain, and Return/refer) Counseling Model for exclusive breastfeeding. Methods: The experimental research was conducted with the post-test only control group design. The sample size of control group and treatment group were 38 people. The sampling technique is a simple random sampling technique. The treatment group were third stage III pregnant women with a gestational age of 36-37 weeks and at the second day postpartum. Data were collected using questionnaires and observations of 76 breastfeeding mothers in Jember Regency, then analyzed using Mann Whitney-U test. Results: The results showed that postpartum mothers who were given Leininger's Transcultural-based GATHER Counseling Model showed a higher percentage of exclusive breastfeeding (81.1%) than postpartum mothers who were not given counseling (21.6%). The results of hypothesis testing showed p-value of 0.000, meaning that the hypothesis was accepted so that it could be said that exclusive breastfeeding for mothers who were given counseling was higher than those who were not given Leininger's Transcultural-based GATHER Counseling Model and it was effective in increasing milk production. Conclusion: Leininger's Transcultural-based GATHER Counseling Model is effective in increasing exclusive breastfeeding, this model facilitates understanding and management of the factors that cause problems, breastfeeding. Keywords: exclusive breastfeeding; GATHER counseling model; Leininger’s transcultural model

The incidence of cancer from year to year continues to increase. Some of the causes of this incident include an unhealthy lifestyle, smoking, a diet high in fat and low in fiber. The Gondomono plant (Hedychium spicatum) are the most studied species. Interesting compounds have been identified like coronarin D, which possesses antibacterial, antifungal and antitumor activities, as well as isocoronarin D, linalool and villosin that exhibit better cytotoxicity towards tumor cell lines than the reference compounds used, with villosin not affecting the non-tumor cell line. This study aims to obtain scientific evidence that Gondomono extract (Hedychium spicatum) is proven to be anti-cancer. The impact obtained will be utilized by local Indonesian plants that can be processed or produced as functional food and herbal medicine for anti-cancer bioactivity toxicity with various tests including the making gondomono (Hedycium spicatum) flour, ethanol extraction method, insilico analysis and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis, then the second stage test, namely the MTT test, P53 test and apoptosis test. The research design was experimental. Gondomono extract when compared to anticancer ingredients was indeed very far away, gondomono extract was starting to be able to act as apoptosis, it requires a fairly high concentration, from 200 to 400 ppm. As conclusion, the higher the dose of gondomono extract, the higher the expression of p53 protein, the higher. Gondomono extract as a cancer cell killer requires a minimum dose of 368.51 ppm. Keywords: gondomono; Hedycium spicatum; anti-proliferasi; cancer cell line

The existence of a community health center as the spearhead of health services in Indonesia is faced with various problems such as a decrease in budget allocations and a lack of health personnel. This study aims to analyze the relationship between attitudes and decisions about choosing a community health center as a health service facility, especially at the Laang Tanduk. The study design was cross-sectional with respondents from the health center customers who were selected by purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through filling out a questionnaire and tested the hypothesis using the Chi-square test. The results showed that the p-value was less than 0.05, so it was concluded that attitudes were related to the community's decision to choose a health center as a health service facility. Keywords: public health center, decision to choose, attitude, community
