Public Service Motivation (PSM) states that individuals are not only driven by their own interests but also by a unit contributing to society and helping others and this motivation is particularly high among public servants. The extant literature reveals that people at high levels of public service management are inclined towards Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) (Christensen & Wright, 2011). Built upon the theory of social network and considering the importance of PSM in public organizational life, social networking is integrated with PSM to verify its relationship and impact on OCB. This paper presents the conceptual argument that the perception of social networking provides an intuitive vision for content visualization and both the quality and value of relationships can be evaluated according to the levels of commitment towards public service management. These propositions have been developed to outline the relationship between PSM and OCB based on the deep-down concept of social networking. This paper concludes with the argument that in social network theory, advice and networking have a positive exchange relationship in which employees share resources like guidance, information, direction and support associated with their task; while adversarial networks represent negative exchange relationships that lead to behaviors such as interference, pressure, interruption and negative response. Therefore, it is very important to evaluate the types of social networks to determine the relationship between PSM and its behavioral outcomes.

This article suggests a new organizational form labelled as Dynamic Transformational Organization (DTO) which is a blend of concepts from Nonaka, Kodama, Hirose and Kohlbacher (2014) and Teece (2007). The 2007) premise that innovation alone is not sufficient for an organization to be competitive. Other than innovation (the result of knowledge creation), an organization also needs a specific set of capabilities which makes firms more competitive. DTOs are equally capable of generating knowledge and also have the specific capabilities necessary for firms to perform in a competitive environment. This article outlines the organizational structure of DTOs and the factors which constitute DTOs. Major antecedents of DTOs include organizational phronesis, Dynamic Fractal Teams (DFTs), Distributed Leadership (DL), Hypertext Organizations (HTO) and environmental fitness.

Rapid population growth, changing weather conditions and an increasing number of natural disasters have left human beings more vulnerable and exposed to nature’s onslaught. Disaster Management Organizations (DMOs) need to be more resilient, responsive and effective to counter these natural hazards and should not leave any stone unturned in order to play their pivotal role in rescue, relief and rehabilitation. Organizational knowledge and logistics are two core factors considered most significant in transforming a DMO into a resilient organization that can shoulder its due responsibility in a plausible and desired manner. This paper is an initial attempt that discusses the integration of knowledge resources and logistics to accelerate the process of the said transformation.

The paper aims to test an explanation of how organizational culture affects the relationship between knowledge sharing and organizational performance. It was expected that organizational culture proxies significantly mediate the relationship between knowledge sharing and performance. The study used a quantitative survey method for the collection of data. A sample of 200 respondents was drawn from the higher education institutes (HEIs) situated in Lahore. The findings revealed that a positive relationship exists; except for when the components were tested individually for their role in moderating it, then learning environment became insignificant. The strong impact of interpersonal communication and trust highlights its significance in boosting knowledge sharing in an organization that results in improved performance. This finding helped the authors to draw on future research implications regarding the components of organizational culture.

The study explores how financial performance (FP) affects the corporate social responsibility (CSR) of the banking sector of Pakistan. Further, it also elaborates the comparison between FP and CSR of Islamic and conventional banks of Pakistan. The study is based on the annual reports of banks listed at Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSE) for the years 2010-2016. The study used several panel data diagnostic tests and three regression models to check the relationship between FP and CSR of Islamic and conventional banks of Pakistan, while taking leverage and size as control variables. The results indicate that in case of conventional banks the relationship between ROE and CSR is negative. Here, the results are consistent with the agency theory which states that investment in CSR related activities is a waste of resources. While return on asset (ROA) is depicting negative and insignificant relationship with CSR, which depicts that FP does not have any impact on the investment in CSR initiatives. In the case of Islamic banks, the relationship between return on equity (ROE) and CSR is positive and significant. Here, the results support social contract and stakeholder theories. The research has important practical consequences that will help the banking industry managers to adopt optimal investment strategies about CSR related activities. The study provides guidelines to conventional banks to invest more in CSR in the same way Islamic banks are doing. The findings of the study lay some foundations upon which a more detailed analysis of CSR of banks could be based.
