This study used a qualitative approach which aims to find the process of internalization of the character education value through sumbang duo baleh  on the Minang students in Purwokerto. The results showed:  (1) Students Minang know and understand twelve ethics contained in sumbang duo baleh. (2) Through the student community the Minang value trying preserved and maintained as a manifestation of their love of Minang culture. (3) To actualize the ethical values on the basis of daily awareness of the positive values contained in sumbangduo baleh so that they can distinguish between good and bad. (4) Due to the openness of education for women can be a net gain as well as challenges to face the modernization and become a factor of a shifting values for Minangkabau students, therefor understanding and applicating of sumbang duo baleh became faded.

This present paper provides a descriptive analysis toward a traditional court dance called Bedhaya, one of the cultural products of the Javanese community in Surakarta which evolved into its modern version Bedhayan due to the flow of global culture. By applying the theories of hermeneutics, ideology, aesthetics and Semiotics, the data are inferred according to the purposed questions. The inquiry is directed to infer the factors encompassing Bedhaya dance such as its emergence and the development, relationship with the existence and its role in the society, the relationship with systems within the society or with various interests. The results as inferred from the data obtained views in looking at the development on the classical dance of Bedhaya into Bedhayan left worthy of critical assessments. The reality of Bedhayan dance in the view of art as an ideology, from the outside, appears that the choreograhers/artists can freely express their creative ideas in the context of the fight agains the classical culture which is strongly enacted by the myths and power of the rulling king. However, it should be noted that Bedhayan dance artists which have managed to bring the classical bedhaya dance out of the walls of the Kraton also in essence always work in the confines of the iron curtain of a creativity called ideology. Whether consciously or not, being forced or sincere in living it, these choreographers actually fall into the life orientation which solely concerns the fulfillment of material needs.

This study was aimed at determining the value of character education in folk games on the slopes of Mount Merapi. This study used qualitative method. The subjects of this study were students, teachers, principals, and heads of Cangkringan and Pakem sub-education technical implementation unit. The instruments used were in-depth observations and interviews. The result shows that there are seventeen folk games, namely dakon, serak lidi, lompat tali, enggrang, bekelan, kelereng, bentengan, dan bola bakar, oya dodok, oya tembok, jamuran, cublak-cublak suweng, petak umpet, engklak, dingklik oglak-aglik, gobak sodor, and elang ayam.The game is used by teachers on the slopes of Mount Merapi to instill thirteen characters from eighteen educational characters. These characters, namely honesty, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, respect for achievement, friendship, caring for the environment, social care, and responsibility. Folk games should be integrated in learning in elementary school to develop student characterNILAI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DALAM PERMAINAN RAKYAT DI LERENG GUNUNG MERAPIPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi nilai pendidikan karakter dalam permainan rakyat di lereng gunung Merapi. Metode kualitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa sekolah dasar (SD), guru, kepala sekolah, dan kepala Unit Pelaksana Teknis sub pelayanan pendidikan di kecamatan Cangkringan dan kecamatan Pakem. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian mengidentifikasi tujuh belas permainan rakyat, yaitu dakon, serak lidi, lompat tali, enggrang, bekelan, kelereng, bentengan, dan bola bakar, oya dodok, oya tembok, jamuran, cublak-cublak suweng, petak umpet, engklak, dingklik oglak-aglik, gobak sodor, dan elang ayam yang berpotensi sebagai sarana penanaman nilai karakter pada siswa SD. Permainan tersebut dimanfaatkan oleh para guru yang ada di lereng gunung Merapi untuk menanamkan tiga belas karakter dari delapan belas karakter pendidikan. Karakter tersebut, yaitu jujur, toleransi, disiplin, kerja keras, kreatif, mandiri, demokratis, rasa ingin tahu, menghargai prestasi, bersahabat, peduli lingkungan, peduli sosial, dan tanggung jawab. Permainan rakyat semestinya dapat diintegrasikan dalam pembelajaran di SD untuk mengembangkan karakter siswa.

ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi: (1) nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang terdapat dalam petetah-petitih Sunan Gunung Jati; (2) pemanfaatan nilai pendidikan karakter dalam petatah-petitih Sunan Gunug Jati untuk menerbitkan dongeng dan fabel pembentuk karakter positif pada anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan sumber data berupa kumpulan petatah-petitih Sunan Gunung Jati. Terdapat 43 nasihat yang tertulis dalam buku Kesusastraan Cirebon karya Untung Rhardjo. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang telah dilakukan, peneliti menarik simpulan bahwa (1) semua petatah-petitih Sunan Gunung Jati yang berjumlah 43 memiliki nilai pendidikan karakter yaitu, religius, jujur, toleransi, disiplin, kerja keras, kreatif, mandiri, demokratis, rasa ingin tahu, semangat kebangsaan, cinta tanah air, menghargai prestasi, bersahabat/komunikatif, cinta damai, gemar membaca, peduli lingkungan, peduli sosial, dan tanggung jawab. (2) Nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter dalam petatah-petitih Sunan Gunung Jati dapat dijadikan sebagai materi dalam buku pengayaan berupa kumpulan fabel sebagai pembentuk karakter positif untuk memperkaya imajinasi dan mengembangkan literasi peserta didik.KATA KUNCI: nilai pendidikan karakter; petatah-petitih. EXPLORATION CHARACTER EDUCATION VALUE IN PETATAH-PETITIH SUNAN GUNUNG JATI ABSTRACT: This research aims to explore: (1) the values of character education contained in the petetahs of Sunan Gunung Jati; (2) utilization of the value of character education in the quotes of Sunan Gunug Jati to publish fairy tales and fables that form positive character in children. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with the data source in the form of a collection of Sunan Gunung Jati slabs. There are 43 pieces of advice written in the book Kesusastraan Cirebon by Untung Rhardjo. Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out, the researcher concludes that (1) all 43 pieces of Sunan Gunung Jati have character education values, namely, religious, honest, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, spirit of nationality, love of the country, respect for achievement, friendly/ communicative, love peace, love to read, care for the environment, care for social, and responsibility. (2) The values of character education in the quotes of Sunan Gunung Jati can be used as material in an enrichment book in the form of a collection of fables as positive character builders to enrich the imagination and develop literacy of students.KEYWORDS: character education value; petatah-petitih.

High quality educator will produce high quality human capital. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine the level of professionalism education value practices among trainee educator based on Standard Guru Malaysia (SGM). The level of professionalism education value practices is determine based on three elements from 14 original elements in measuring self-domain which is believe in God, leadership and interpersonal and intrapersonal skills. This descriptive research used modified rubric instrument based on SGM and reliability value of the instrument is is 0.87. 188 final year students, who are doing education course at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Skudai, Johor have been used as the respondent. Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS 16.0) software has been used to analyze raw data of this research. Research findings showed that the overall levels of professionalism value practices by trainee educator are at moderate level (mean 3.31) with leadership elemen at the lowers frequency. Further analysis on believe in God shows that sub-item, which is "integration value believe in God through education process because educator believe it as the highest value in producing good personality" also get the lowers frequency. This interesting finding shows that trainee educator do not have very clear self understanding that integration of self-awareness and believe in God existence as the highest and prerequisite values for producing good personality character individual. Therefore, this research propose to strengthen professionalism value among trainee educator through training program so that they can understand that the real purpose of education process is to produce good personality character leader based on the highest value which is believe in God. Oleh itu kajian ini adalah bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti tahap amalan nilai profesionalisme bakal guru berteraskan Indikator Standard Guru Malaysia (SGM). Tahap amalan nilai profesionalisme bakal guru ini dikaji berdasarkan tiga daripada 14 elemen domain diri iaitu kepercayaan kepada Tuhan, kepimpinan dan kemahiran interpersonal dan intrapersonal. Penyelidikan deskriptif ini mengunakan rubrik telah diubah suai berdasarkan kepada SGM dan nilai kebolehpercayaan yang diperolehi ialah 0.87. 188 orang pelajar tahun akhir iaitu bakal guru di UTM Skudai, Johor terlibat sebagai responden kajian. Perisian Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS 16.0) telah digunakan untuk menganalisis data yang diperolehi. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan purata keseluruhannya tahap amalan profesionalisme keguruan berteraskan SGM adalah berada pada tahap yang baik atau sederhana dengan nilai min 3.31 dengan elemen kepimpinan memperolehi kekerapan terendah. Analisis terperinci terhadap elemen kepercayaan kepada Tuhan menunjukkan sub-item menerapkan kepercayaan kepada Tuhan kerana guru menyakini ia adalah nilai tertinggi dalam pembentukan seorang insan juga memperolehi kekerapan yang terendah. Dapatan menarik ini menunjukkan bakal guru kurang jelas bahawa penerapan kesedaran dan keyakinan terhadap kewujudan Tuhan adalah nilai tertinggi yang menjadi prasyarat untuk melahirkan insan berakhlak mulia. Oleh itu kajian ini mencadangkan untuk memantapkan penerapan nilai profesionalisma bakal guru melalui program pelatihan pendidik agar mereka lebih memahami tujuan sebenar proses pendidikan ialah melahirkan pemimpin berakhlak mulia berteraskan nilai tertinggi iaitu kepercayaan kepada Tuhan.
