AIM: To identify and characterize the 100 most influential articles in the field of myopia over the last decades. METHODS: Articles on myopia published between January 1975 and March 2020 were searched through the Web of Science Core Collection database. Two independent authors reviewed and determined the 100 most cited articles. The characteristics of each eligible article were recorded, including authors, institutions, countries, journals, publication date, total citations (TCs), annual citations (ACs), research focus and article type. RESULTS: The top 100 most influential articles were published between 1983 and 2016, with 1999 as the most prolific year. The mean number of TCs was 288 (range: 193-537) and the mean number of ACs was 19 (range: 7-109). Treatment and epidemiology of myopia were the most important research focus. These articles were published in 21 journals led by Ophthalmology (29%) followed by Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science (23%). The number of ACs for articles published in the last ten years was significantly higher than that for the other most-cited articles (44 vs 16, Mann-Whitney U test P<0.01). There is no difference in the number of TCs between original articles and review articles, while the number of ACs for review articles was significantly higher than that for original articles (22 vs 17, Mann-Whitney U test P<0.05). CONCLUSION: This bibliometric analysis can provide us with concise information about the development trend of research in the field of myopia in the past few decades, and provide an important reference for researchers to guide future research.

The recent move to require sex as a biological variable (SABV), which includes gender, into the reporting of research published by the American Journal of Physiology - Heart and Circulatory Physiology follows a growing, and much-needed, trend by journals. Understandably, there is concern over how to do this without adding considerable work, especially if one's primary research focus is not on elucidating sex/gender differences. The purpose of this article is to provide additional guidance and examples on how to incorporate SABV into the conduct and reporting of basic and clinical research. Using examples from our research, which includes both studies focused and not focused on sex/gender differences, we offer suggestions for how to incorporate SABV into basic and clinical research studies.

Research in machine learning (ML) has argued that models trained on incomplete or biased datasets can lead to discriminatory outputs. In this commentary, we propose moving the research focus beyond bias-oriented framings by adopting a power-aware perspective to "study up" ML datasets. This means accounting for historical inequities, labor conditions, and epistemological standpoints inscribed in data. We draw on HCI and CSCW work to support our argument, critically analyze previous research, and point at two co-existing lines of work within our research community \,---\,one bias-centered, the other power-aware. We highlight the need for dialogue and cooperation in three areas: data quality, data work, and data documentation. In the first area, we argue that reducing societal problems to "bias" misses the context-based nature of data. In the second one, we highlight the corporate forces and market imperatives involved in the labor of data workers that subsequently shape ML datasets. Finally, we propose expanding current transparency-oriented efforts in dataset documentation to reflect the social contexts of data design and production.

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, global food production and transportation have been largely impacted. Meanwhile, consumers have purchased and stockpiled large quantities of foods due to panic in the early stage of the pandemic, which has resulted in a lot of uneaten, expired foods and has reduced the varieties of foods available in the markets. Due to the lower prices, some consumers have chosen to buy those foods with an earlier production time or inferior quality (suboptimal foods), and the purchase rate of suboptimal foods has increased. Therefore, this study investigated consumer behavior during the pandemic as the research focus, explored the main dimensions that affect consumers’ purchasing of suboptimal foods during the COVID-19 pandemic, tested their correlations, and proposed suggestions for improvement. The results of this study showed that the impacts of Perceived Benefits on Attitude Toward Behavior, Perceived Behavioral Control, and Subject Norm rank 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in importance, respectively, which are all higher than the related impact of Environmental Concerns. For consumers, the most important thing is whether suboptimal foods have consumption motivation for them, which is also the most direct way to make consumers feel the value of suboptimal foods. Furthermore, for consumers, while the environmentally friendly attributes of suboptimal foods are less perceptible than the economic motivations, they still have considerable influence on consumers, and this is even more prominent during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many families have experienced a shock to their income during the pandemic, and consumers are more sensitive and concerned about commodity prices, which also makes lower-priced and more abundant suboptimal foods more popular. However, in the long term, suboptimal foods can have a positive impact on reducing food waste and protecting the environment. When consumers realize this, they will be more motivated to purchase and try suboptimal foods.

Fostering awareness of state defense or what is commonly called PKBN is the government's effort to create deterrence to strengthen the defense of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia in the face of all opportunities and threats from within and outside the country. The East Java 'Veteran' National Development University implemented PKBN through extracurricular activities through the Student Activity Unit (UKM) so that a policy of fostering state defense awareness was formed for bidikmisi students at the East Java 'Veteran' National Development University. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of state defense awareness policies in bidikmisi students at the 'Veteran' National Development University in East Java. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with research focus based on Edward III's policy implementation model, namely communication, resources, disposition and bureaucratic structure. The results showed that the implementation of the policy of fostering awareness of state defense in Bidikmisi students at the National Veterans Development University of East Java could not be carried out optimally.

The research focus discusses the role of the Raudhatul Ilmi learning resource center in supporting the online learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic at Al-Azhar Islamic Elementary School 21 Pontianak. The purpose of the study is to describe the role of PSB Raudhatul Ilmi in supporting the online learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic, efforts made by librarians in managing PSB Raudhatul Ilmi so as not to lose their role during the Covid-19 pandemic, and the obstacles faced by PSB Raudhatul Ilmi in supporting the online learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic at Al-Azhar Islamic Elementary School 21 Pontianak. This research uses descriptive methods with qualitative approaches, the number of informants there are two people, namely the deputy principal and the librarian. While data collection techniques are participatory observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques through the stage of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion or verification. The results showed that the lack of role of PSB Raudhatul Ilmi in supporting the online learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic. PSB Raudhatul Ilmi only plays a role for teachers rather than learners. PSB Raudhatul Ilmi does not have the efforts that librarians can make so that PSB can still carry out its role, and there are some obstacles, namely limited time constraints for online learning, collections that support online learning are still in print, The absence of collection visitors and loans during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The application of Information Technology (IT) in education has opened new scenarios for this ancient process. With rapidly changing field of IT, the adoption of IT in education has been changed drastically. It is quite difficult for researchers to keep pace with changing research trends. An analysis based on the keywords could provide a synopsis on the use of IT in education. The keywords can be extracted and clustered to draw a sketch of trend changes over time. In this paper, we propose two empirical methods based on classic TF/IDF, i.e., overall rating (OR) and dynamic character (DC) of a keyword for in-depth keyword analysis to examine changing trends in research. The method help in disclosing time based changes in research focuses by comparing TF/IDF weights of keywords in different years. A total of 8131 scholarly articles from 12 well recognized journals were used in this analysis. The analysis shows that proposed methods provide sufficient insight into the research trends of application of IT in education in 11 years, i.e., 2007-2017.

Discussion of metaphor is also widely associated with proverbs. This is not surprising because metaphor is a part of figure of speech in literary theory. The aim of this research was to find out the reasons of metaphor realized in BBAJ Proverb in the way they are. Thinking and creating metaphors that human cannot escape from their environtment, because they always interact with it. The study of interactions between humans and their environment (animate and inanimate beings) is called an ecological study systemThe data sources of this research were 5 people. They are the descendants of native speakers who first lived in the village of Sabungan Julu. The research is a kind of qualitative descriptive. The data of the research focus on phrase, which contain of metaphor on BBAJ Proverb, the technique of collecting data that is used in the research is collecting or listing proverbs from Bahasa Batak Angkola Julu. From some process of communication the researcher has been listed any proverbs based on the context of interaction and communication. The results of this research as the reason of the using metaphor, the BBAJ’s Proverb used depends on the social and cultural environtment shows their identity . Results of the reason of using metaphor in BBAJ Proverb are, the microsmos reason is the most prominent reason where the percentage distribution is 52,5% while the macrocosmos reason is 47,5 %. There  is a proverb which has two reason of using metaphor in BBAJ Proverb, both macrocosmos and microsmos. The proverb is halak na lilu di alaman /pae sobanan.  From the result it can be concluded that the reason for the creation of metaphors in BBAJ Proverb is more dominated by the culture, customs, mindset and habits of the Angkola Julu people themselves (microcosmos) rather than the geographical conditions of their natural environment (macrocosmos). Keywords: Metaphor, Bahasa Batak Angkola Julu (BBAJ) Proverb, the Reason of the Using Metaphor
