Curupirina papuana sp. n. and an unnamed species of a probably new genus of Apistomyiini (Diptera : Blephariceridae) are described from the Ok Tedi, a tributary of the Fly River, Papua New Guinea. This is the first report of the family from the island; its zoogeographical significance is discussed with reference to the long-presumed role of the island in the evolution and dispersal of the tribe Apistomyiini.

A new species ascribed to a new genus of Eusiridae, Dorotea papuana gen. nov., sp. nov. is described from bathyal bottoms of the Solomon Sea (Papua New Guinea). Closely related to the genus Cleonardo, this new genus can be distinguished from most other known eusirid genera by the presence of a telson distally cleft and distinctly bilobate, of a distal spiniform process on uropod 1 peduncle and of a simple, stout and medium length dactylus on pereopods 5–7. The combination of all these characters can be considered relevant for the affiliation of this species to a new genus within Eusiridae. Due to its very close morphological affinity to Dorotea gen. nov., the bathyal sub-Antarctic species Eusiroides aberrantis Bellan-Santini & Ledoyer, 1987 cannot be maintained in the family Pontogeneiidae and it should be transferred to the   family Eusiridae.

Nematodes, comprising 2 species, a new genus from the family Syphaciidae and a new species from the family Trichuridae were collected from the lower digestive tracts of 4 species of Pogonomys; P. championi, Flannery (12 individuals), P. loriae, Thomas (14 individuals), P. macrourus, (Milne Edwards) (19 individuals) and P. sylvestris, Thomas (27 individuals) from Papua, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Pogonomicola rugala n. gen., n. sp. differs from all other genera in the Sypaciidae in having cervical alae with numerous folds and a single weakly defined mamelon. Trichuris germani n. sp. differs from all congeners, including the cosmopolitan T. muris, the only other trichurid reported from the region, by the lengths of the spicules and vagina, the ratio of anterior to posterior body length and the number of convolutions of the testis. The genus Pogonomys, with four species from four nematode families had a relatively rich helminth fauna in the lower digestive tract compared to other ansomyins studied. The Oxyuridae, with three genera comprising 5 species was the dominant group found in the lower digestive tract of the Anisomyini, indicating the possibility that the isolation of the old endemic rodents in New Guinea has been associated with a period of coevolution between anisomyin hosts and their syphaciine parasites.

The deep-water epialtid spider crab (superfamily Majoidea) material collected from recent French expeditions to Papua New Guinea (BIOPAPUA 2010, PAPUA NIUGINI 2012, MADEEP 2014, and KAVIENG 2014) was studied. In addition to several new records for the country, five new species of Oxypleurodon Miers, 1885, Rochinia A. Milne-Edwards, 1875, and Tunepugettia Ng, Komai & Sato, 2017, are described. The taxonomy of Tunepugettia is reappraised, and a new genus, Crocydocinus n. gen., is established, characterised by its smooth ambulatory legs and a distinct male first gonopod structure. Four species from the Bay of Bengal, Sumatra, and Réunion Island, currently placed in Rochinia and Tunepugettia are transferred to Crocydocinus n. gen. and four new species from Papua New Guinea, Philippines, and Vanuatu are described. A new genus, Neophrys n. gen., with one new species from Papua New Guinea, is established, and is characterised by the supraorbital eave being fused with the carapace and the poorly developed pre-orbital angle.

Megaxenus Lawence, gen. nov., includes one speciesfrom North Queensland (M. Termitophilus Lawence, sp. nov.) and two from Papua New Guinea (M. bioculatus Lawence, sp. nov. and M. papuensis Lawence, sp. nov.). All three are found in the nests of Microcerotermes species and are the first known termitophiles in the family Aderidae. Notes on the behaviour and life history demonstrate that the larvae are integrated into the termite society, and are incorporated into the trophallactic feeding behaviour of termites, while the adults are actively persecuted by the termites but survive at the edges of the nest because of the webs constructed by the larvae prior to pupation.

A new genus of parasitic copepod, Paranoplodelphys, is established in the family Notodelphyidae to accommodate a new, highly reduced species, P. simplex n. gen. et n. sp., collected from a tunicate host, Didemnum dicolla in Djibouti. The new genus retains only four paired limbs: antennules, legs 1, 2 and 5. Two new species of Anoplodelphys, A. afri-cana and A.laubieri, are described from tunicate hosts of the genus Didemnum collected in the Gulf of Suez and off the Kwazulu-Natal coast, respectively. A new species of Achelidelphys, A. papuensis, is described from a Didemnum species host collected off Papua New Guinea. New records are also reported for Anoplodelphys corneci and Achelidelphys steinitzi also from tunicate hosts. After re-examination of type material of most species, a phylogenetic analysis of relationships between the genera of the Brementia-group was performed using PAUP. This identified four main clades: Brementia, Anoplodelphys, Paranoplodelphys and the Achelidelphys-clade. There was no support for the continued recognition of Cephalodelphys and Syndelphys as valid separate genera, and it is proposed to treat as them synonyms of Achelidelphys. Both genera were monotypic and upon transfer Cephalodelphys stellata Lafargue & Laubier, 1977 becomes Achelidelphys stellata (Lafargue and Laubier, 1977) n. comb. and Syndelphys reducta Lafargue and Laubier, 1977 becomes Achelidelphys reducta (Lafargue and Laubier, 1977) n. comb.

A new genus, Cryptofavognathus is proposed for two species, Cryptofavognathus afyonensis (Koç & Akyol, 2004) comb. nov. and C. anatolicus sp. nov. The adult female and male of C. anatolicus sp. nov. collected from moss and a bird’s nest are herein described and figured.
