Seeking reliable correspondence between multispectral images is a fundamental and important task in computer vision. To overcome the nonlinearity problem occurring in multispectral image matching, a novel, edge-feature-based maximum clique-matching frame (EMCM) is proposed, which contains three main parts: (1) a novel strong edge binary feature descriptor, (2) a new correspondence-ranking algorithm based on keypoint distinctiveness analysis algorithms in the feature space of the graph, and (3) a false match removal algorithm based on maximum clique searching in the correspondence space of the graph considering both position and angle consistency. Extensive experiments are conducted on two standard multispectral image datasets with respect to the three parts. The feature-matching experiments suggest that the proposed feature descriptor is of high descriptiveness, robustness, and efficiency. The correspondence-ranking experiments validate the superiority of our correspondences-ranking algorithm over the nearest neighbor algorithm, and the coarse registration experiments show the robustness of EMCM with varied interferences.

In the field of robot vision, edge feature based stereo matching algorithm can reconstruct the targets with clear contours, which needs accurate and continuous target edges been extracted. In the paper, the smoothing filter operator was designed based on the discrete criteria of edge extraction and its correspondence optimal linear filter. Edge extraction was carried out incorporated the nonmaximum suppression and two thresholds techniques. The discrete criteria based multi-scale edge extraction method was studied with full use of the multi-scale character of the edge information. The detected multi-scale edges were synthesized to obtain the accurate and continuous single pixel wide edge. Then an edge feature based stereo matching algorithm was proposed to obtain 3D information of target. The experimental results demonstrate that the method can effectively suppress disturbance in outdoor environment and reconstruct target contour clearly.

Traditional engineering design and realization typically follows a sequential pattern as described by many research publications such as French, Pahl and Beitz. These design methodologies face challenges when time is essence in product realization lifecycle. In contrast, as the design process of a product evolves, this new method incrementally creates machining feature model and realizes concurrent design feature and machining feature modeling based on an algorithm developed for local feature recognition. In addition, the method accelerated the determination of the area that require to be recognized by utilizing a dynamic link list to record the changing information of topological elements, the design features of the model generated by the feature-based design, processing and feature recognition is generated through feature model.
