The existing problems of the traction power-supply system (i.e., the existence of the neutral section and the power quality problems) limit the development of railways, especially high-speed railways, which are developing rapidly worldwide. The existence of the neutral section leads to the speed loss and traction loss as well as mechanical failures, all of which threaten the fast and safe operation of the train and the system. Meanwhile, the power quality problems (e.g., the negative sequence current, the reactive power, and the harmonic) can bring a series of problems that cannot be ignored on the three-phase grid side. In response, many researchers have proposed co-phase power-supply schemes to solve these two problems simultaneously. Given that the auto-transformer (AT) power-supply mode has become the main power-supply mode for the high-speed railway traction power-supply system, it has a bright future following the rapid development of the high-speed railway. In addition, there is no co-phase power-supply scheme designed for AT power-supply mode in the existing schemes. Therefore, the main contribution of this paper is to propose a specifically designed power-supply mode more suitable for the AT, as well as to establish the control systems for the rectifier side and the inverter side. In addition, for the proposed scheme, the operation principle is analyzed, the mathematical model is built, and the control system is created, and its functionality is verified by simulation, and its advantages are compared and summarized finally. The result proves that it can meet functional requirements. At the same time, compared with the existing co-phase power-supply scheme, it saves an auto-transformer in terms of topology, reduces the current stress by 10.9% in terms of the current stress of the switching device, and reduces the power loss by 0.25% in terms of the entire system power loss, which will result in a larger amount of electricity being saved. All of this makes it a more suitable co-phase power-supply scheme for the AT power-supply mode.

Aim: The Aim of this paper is to demonstrate the structure of the proposed new stator power supply mode. Methods: analyze the results of some simulation work to see whether the new concept could meet the requirements of the medium speed maglev transportation system or not. The study is based on some simulation work which is done by the software tool developed in the research work in “The 11th Five-year plan” of China. Results: The calculation results indicate that, from the point of view of top speed, that say 200 km/h, the structure of the new concept could meet the requirement of the medium speed system, but further studies are demanded for the engineering application. Conclusion: The advantage of this structure is to reduce the demand for the capacity of the inverters and eliminate the requirements for the cable lines and the stator switches. However, the disadvantage is also explicit. The structure is more complex than its high speed peer, and thus need more complex control strategies. And the structure is more fixed and thus maybe need more invest at the beginning of an engineering project.

Selecting the power supply mode for important power consumers involves two aspects of reliability and economy. Combining with the power system reliability analysis method and taking full account of each component failure mode and their combination patterns, this paper embarks from the reality, accurately calculated the reliability indices of these power supply modes by minimal-cut sets, and then used the reliability indices to estimate the power losses of the users, finally used the theory of reliability cost-benefit and took the minimizing social costs that consist of reliability costs and outage losses as the goal to compare and analyze the reliability cost and the users outage losses under different power supply modes, obtained the suitable power supply mode for different important level of users.

AbstractBased on association rules, this article proposed a method for intelligent recommendation of power supply mode, which helps decision-makers in the selection of many schemes. Firstly, a history database which includes the forecasting models and correlative factors was first built and association rule mining was conducted; then combined with the correlative factors in the designated area, the criteria matching in the rules mined were carried out with CBR technique; finally automatic recommendation of the power supply modes was achieved under the given conditions. By application of an example, it is demonstrated that the proposed method can not only automatically analyze the applicability of power supply modes and the intrinsic relationship between correlative factors but also provide, to some extent, theoretical basis for selection of power supply modes and practical utility for urban distribution network planning.
