The rendering effect of known visual image texture is poor and the output image is not always clear. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a visual image rendering based on scene visual understanding algorithm. In this approach, the color segmentation of known visual scene is carried out according to a predefined threshold, and the segmented image is processed by morphology. For this purpose, the extraction rules are formulated to screen the candidate regions. The color image is fused and filtered in the neighborhood, the pixels of the image are extracted, and the 2D texture recognition is realized by multilevel fusion and visual feature reconstruction. Using compact sampling to extract more target features, feature points are matched, the coordinate system of known image information are integrated into a unified coordinate system, and design images are generated to complete art-aided design. Simulation results show that the proposed method is more accurate than the original method for extracting the information of known images, which helps to solve the problem of clearly visible output images and improves the overall design effect.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to establish an adaptive assembly, to realize the adaptive changing of the models and to improve the flexibility and reliability of assembly change. For a three-dimensional (3D) computer-aided design (CAD) assembly in a changing process, there are two practical problems. One is delivering parameters’ information not smoothly. The other one is to easily destroy an assembly structure. Design/methodology/approach – The paper establishes associated parameters design structure matrix of related parts, and predicts possible propagation paths of the parameters. Based on the predicted path, structured storage is made for the affected parameters, tolerance range and the calculation relations. The study combines structured path information and all constrained assemblies to build the adaptive assembly, proposes an adaptive change algorithm for assembly changing and discusses the extendibility of the adaptive assembly. Findings – The approach would improve the flexibility and reliability of assembly change and be applied to different CAD platform. Practical implications – The examples illustrate the construction and adaptive behavior of the assembly and verify the feasibility and reasonability of the adaptive assembly in practical application. Originality/value – The adaptive assembly model proposed in the paper is an original method to assembly change. And compared with other methods, good results have been obtained.

The control strategy is one of the key technologies of EPS system, and the assistance characteristic has great importance to the vehicle handiness and road feeling. Based on the EPS dynamic model, the curved assistance characteristic is designed. The curved assistance characteristic has the superiority to find the better balance between handiness and road feeling. It has engineering significance to the overall design, function enhancement and optimization and steering manipulation and safety improvement.

Abstract The goal of the research described in the article was to develop the device for the automatic scarification of acorns and computer vision-based assessment of their viability. The color image of the intersection of the tissue of cotyledons was selected as a key feature for separating healthy seeds from the spoiled ones. Because the device is being designed for the diagnosis of high volume of seeds aiming at producing high-quality seedlings, several assessment criteria of the overall design of the automaton are being assessed. The basic one is the overall accuracy of viability recognition. The other refers to particular functions implemented in the model of the device being described.

Recent developments in Computer Aided Design (CAD) have drastically reduced overall design cycle time and cost. In this paper, wirePATH, a new method for rapid direct tooling, is presented. By using specialized interactive segmentation computer software and wire electrical discharge machining (wire EDM), wirePATH can reduce manufacturing time and cost for injection molds, casting patterns, and dies. Compared to other conventional-mold making methods, wirePATH can reduce fabrication time by as much as 40 to 70%. Wirepath can use a combination of wire EDM and other processes. Our method provides a new means to produce a greater variety in products by changing only portions of the tooling. Segments allow a part of a mold to be replaced to accommodate design changes and repair. WirePATH enables new applications of wire EDM to more complex shapes by bridging the gaps between CAD, our method, wire EDM and conventional manufacturing processes.

Based on the internal configuration pattern of Dongba Characters, we analyzed the replacing-element configuration method. Applying this method, we combined the concrete Dongba characters with the abstract characters, using either Chinese characters’ structure or Dongba characters’ structure as the basic frame. Further, we used some softwares like “Edongba” to make computer-aided design. This designing method can improve the expression in addition to text connotation, enhance visual image, sculpt beauty, and highlight artistry. It is a new way to inherit and enrich our national culture.

Security of image communication is more and more important in many applications such as the transmission of military and medical images. To meet the requirement, a new color image encryption algorithm using a new one-dimension (1D) chaotic map was proposed recently, which can resist various attacks because the range of the new chaotic map is larger than that of the previous ones. In our study, the security of the new original method is analyzed and a novel attack method is proposed. It is demonstrated that the scheme is not secure under chosen-plaintext attack, by which the encrypted image can be successfully converted into the corresponding plaintext image without any error.
