<p>The current study is an attempt to prepare active learning-based instructional program and measure its effectiveness in motivation and achievement towards Science among middle stage students with learning disabilities. The sample consisted of (34) female students, intentionally chosen and distributed into two equal groups, the control group (n = 17) and the experimental group (n = 17). The author utilized achievement test, motivation scale and the instructional program. The results showed statistically significant differences between the means of scores of the control group and the scores of the experimental group in favor of the experimental group; indicating the effectiveness of active learning-based instructional Science Program in improving achievement and motivation among female students with learning disabilities. The study recommended the need to urge authorities and decision-makers to provide all the instructional supplies that facilitate the application of active learning strategies to students with learning disabilities in the middle stage of public education schools.</p>

The present study aims to explore Nearpod as a tool to promote active learning in higher education. In this study, Nearpod is regarded as a tool that can be used to enhance teaching and learning for those lectures provided by male instructors to female students at Sharoura College&nbsp;of&nbsp;Science and Arts, Najran University. Hence, the Nearpod is integrated with video-conference learning system which is used as distance learning system to provide lectures by male lecturers to female students who study at a separate campus. Consequently, students&rsquo; own devices have been used to fulfil learning activities during classes. The author utilized the mainly quantitative research method and designed an electronic learning questionnaire applied to (74) female students. The findings of the study showed that the affordances of Nearpod and the BYOD model have promoted active learning in the classroom. Students were very satisfied with integrated learning environment, and they commended Nearpod in all courses specially those ones taught by video-conference learning system.

The study aimed to investigate the impact of teaching biology using active learning strategies in the acquisition of the tenth- grade students in the Directorate of Education of the of Irbid to the concepts and skills of scientific thinking. The study consisted of (148) male and female students distributed in two groups, each group consisting of (74) male and female students, the first group studied by using active learning strategies, the second group studied in the usual ways. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α≤ 0.05), in the performance on the two- post conceptual acquisition tests. Where the experimental group got a total average (29.43 out of 40) while the control group got a total average (22.42 out of 40), and in post- scientific thinking skills the experimental got a total average (27.61 out of 40) while the control got a total average (21.43 out of 40) ), The difference in favor of the experimental group. The results of the study also showed that there was a significant statistical difference in favor of sex for the male students in acquisition of scientific concepts and scientific thinking skills. In addition, there were no significant differences due to the interaction between the teaching process and sex. For both tests. The findings also showed that there was a strong positive direct correlation between the students’ post acquisition of scientific concepts test and post Scientific Thinking test reached (0.994). The study recommended, according to the findings of the study, to include Active Learning Strategies in the teachers’ preparation programs before and during their service.

This study aimed to identify the impact of teaching critical thinking skills on the attitude towards biology courses among female students of tenth grade in Jordan using two active learning strategies. To achieve this, the Critical Thinking Scale and the Attitude towards Biology Scale was used, and its validity and consistency were verified. The sample of the study wad (90) female students from the tenth grade in Southern Mazar Directorate in the academic year (2019-2020). The sample of this study was randomly assigned to three groups: the first was experimental group which consisted of (31) students who studied the genetics unit using the directed investigation strategy. The second was the experimental group which consisted of (29) students who studied the genetics unit using the discussion strategy, but the control group consisted of (30) students who studied the genetics unit in the usual way. Data were collected and analyzed after implementing the experiment, which lasted for two months. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences in performance on the Critical Thinking Scale and the Attitude towards Biology Scale in favor of the two experimental groups. The study recommended adopting active learning strategies in teaching science courses in general and biology courses, in addition to conducting more studies on active learning strategies with other variables and classrooms.   Keywords: active learning, investigation, discussion, critical thinking, attitude towards biology

The background of this study was the low level of play skill and also the application of learning models of physical education at primary schools. In order to resolve those problems, the researchers applied a strategy called "The Implementation of Inquiry Model in Learning Soccer like games to Increase The Amount of Active Learning Time for The 5th Grade Students". The goal of this research was to know the increasing of the 5th grade students' skills at SDN 062 Ciujung, Bandung City in playing soccer like games. Classroom Action Research was used as the method of this research. The object of this research was SDN Ciujung Bandung City. There were 30 students participated as the subject of this research. The result of this achieved (80,00%) for the amount of active learning time at (76,00%). From the previous data, it could be concluded that there were some increasing for each cycles and actions and so the application of inquiry model for soccer like games could increase students' skill with the learning time. AbstrakStudi ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya  waktu aktif belajar pada keterampilan bermain soccer like games dan kurangnya  penerapan model-model pembelajaran Pendidikan jasmani di Sekolah Dasar maka peneliti dalam upaya mengatasi permasalahan tersebut peneliti menerapkan salah satu strategi pembelajaran yaitu Implementasi Model Inquiri Dalam Pembelajaran Soccer like-games untuk Meningkatkan Jumlah Waktu Aktif Belajar (JWAB)  Siswa Kelas V SD yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan bermain Soccer like-games kelas V SDN 062 Ciujung Kota Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Objek dalam penelitian ini yaitu Sekolah Dasar Negeri Ciujung Kota Bandung. Subjek dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 30 siswa. Hasil observasi menunjukan tingkat keterampilan bermain siswa mencapai (80,00%) dan pada jumlah waktu aktif belajar berjumlah (76,00%). Dari data hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa mengalami peningkatan presentase setiap siklus dan tindakannya sehingga dengan penerapan model inkuiri pada permainan Soccer like-games dapat meningkatkan keterampilan bermain siswa dengan waktu belajar.

Abstrak: Mengetahui langkah-langkah penerapan Active Learning tipe Card Sort, meningkatkan kemandirian dan hasil belajar IPS melalui Active Learning tipe Card Sort di kelas 5 SD Negeri Lopait 01 adalah tujuan penelitian ini.  Penelitian ini berjenis Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Teknik analisis data menggunakan tes dan non tes. Hasil penelitian hasil belajar pra siklus (40,74%) siklus I meningkat (74,07%) meningkat lagi siklus II (92,59%). Hasil penelitian kemandirian belajar, pra siklus (68,8%) siklus I meningkat (76,94%) meningkat lagi siklus II, (81,67%). Dengan demikian penerapan Active Learning tipe Card Sort dapat meningkatkan kemandirian belajar dan hasil belajar IPS siswa kelas 5 SD Negeri Lopait 01. Abstract:  Knowing the steps of implementing Active Learning Card Sort type, increasing the independence and learning outcomes of IPS through Active Learning Card Sort type in 5th grade State Elementary School Lopait 01 is the purpose of this research. This research is a Class Action Research type. Data analysis techniques using test and non test. Result of research result of pre cycle study (40,74%) cycle I increase (74,07%) increase again cycle II (92,59%). Result of research self-reliance learning, pre cycle (68,8%) cycle I increase (76,94%) increase again cycle II, (81,67%). Thus the implementation of Active Learning Card Sort type can improve the independence of learning and learning outcomes IPS 5th grader Elementary School Elementary School Lopait 01.
