As the flourishing of computer technology and the appearing of lots of large-scale and well-designed corpora and concordance software, corpus-based approach, an advanced teaching resources, has been widely employed in language researches of various fields and perspectives. English teaching material, the main source of language input, has the quality and authority in Chinese English language teaching classes. The present study attempts to bring about some innovations in construction and designing of teaching material on the basis of the Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA). Moreover, the research is intended to effectively improve teacher’s input and introducing data-driven learning (DDL), and to effectively stimulate the motivations of students by using this computer-aided and COCA-based designing.

With the rapid development of computer technology, combined with the features of computer-aided English teaching, college English teaching has tremendously challenged the traditional teaching mode. This change, however, provides a new perspective for the research of non-intelligence factors in students’ learning process. Based on the definition and importance of non-intelligence factors, this paper briefly discusses the cultivation of college students’ non-intelligence factors in the computer-aided language learning environments and put forward some suggestions to optimize the non-intelligence factors from the perspectives of interest in learning, communication awareness and teamwork ability in order to update our teaching idea and improve the quality of college English teaching and training methods.

College English writing, as one of the most important skills of college English teaching and learning, can reveal the English comprehensive level of learners. The development of computer and Internet creates conditions for college English teaching reform. With the application and development of computer-aided language teaching, the multimedia technology has become an important feature of modern college English education. However, though the technology has a lot of advantages in promoting the English teaching, it also brings about some problems that can not be neglected. In this article, the author analyzes both the positive and negative effects of the multimedia technology on college English teaching, and puts forward some suggestions on how to solve the problems and build up a harmonious classroom environment with technology.

With the aid of information-based teaching platform, the traditional classroom English teaching mode can be improved to provide students with a realistic linguistic environment and enhance their learning interest. As a result, the web-based computer aided English teaching has become the mainstream in college English education. Based on the browser/server (B/S) structure, this paper designs a computer-aided English teaching platform of the model–view–controller (MVC) architectural pattern. The programming was carried out using the MySQL database, and the functions of the computer-aided English teaching platform were realized securely and stably by the popular Secure Shell (SSH) framework. The system test results show that the proposed platform supports the open teaching of college English, solves the lack of interaction in traditional classroom teaching, and arouses the students’ learning interest. The research further promotes the reform of college English teaching, and enriches the theories and practices on computer-aided English teaching.
