This paper is a review of literature on how literature can be integrated as a language teaching material in EFL/ESL classes. First, it tracks down the place of literature in language classes from the early Grammar Translation Method (GTM) to Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) era. The paper then discusses the reasons for the demise and resurrection of literature as an input for language classes. After that the reasons for and against the use of literature in EFL/ESL classes are enumerated and discussed. For so doing, the researchers draw upon recent ideas on language teaching practice and theories. Finally in a practical move, this paper reviews the past and current approaches to teaching literature in language teaching classes. Five methodological models for teaching literature are proposed.

The purpose of this research is to develop humanism-based Arabic language teaching materials, which are the vision and mission of the Wonosobo Al-Qur'an Science University. This textbook will be used to enhance the sense of humanism in UNSIQ students. The method in this study is Research and Development (R&D), which is by developing Arabic language teaching materials based on humanism, which form the basis of vision in UNSIQ universities. This teaching material is not just a textbook but by using the humanism approach that has been implemented at the university. This research step consists of: (1) proposing information, (2) conducting design, (3) developing original product forms, (4) conducting limited trials, (5) conducting revisions, (6) conducting field trials, (7) ) make revisions. Textbooks developed were validated by experts and students during the trial. The subjects of this research trial were PAI students in class A and PAI class B in semester 4 of the Tarbiyah and Teaching Faculty of UNSIQ, Central Java in Wonosobo. Limited trials were conducted on 14 students. Field trials were conducted on two classes consisting of 30 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class. Data was collected using validation sheets, observation sheets, and assessment sheets.The results of this research and development are. (1) The model of teaching material developed is Arabic teaching material based on humanism, which is used as the vision of the Al-Qur'an Science University (UNSIQ). Textbooks that are developed are in accordance with established criteria. The assessment of teaching materials and tools from all aspects falls into the "very goodcategory." (2) after using teaching materials that are developed on the basis of humanism, it enhances student's living values compared to before using textbook development materials.

ABSTRAK: Artikel ini menguraikan tentang hasil penelitian analisis kebutuhan bahan ajar mata kuliah bahasa indonesi pada jurusan ilmu hukum. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kulitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara dan pengolahan data dilakukan dengan langkah, reduksi, klasifikasi, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar matakuliah bahasa indonesia jurusan ilmu hukum mencakup materi tentang (1) membaca dengan analisis untuk mengetahui gagasan atu ide-ide bacaan dan melakukan penilaian bahan bacaan, (3) mendeskripsikan suatu kejadian yang beraspek hukum dalam bentuk tertulis secara objektif, (4) menulis karya ilmiah, (5) menyimak, dan (6) berbicara ilmiah. Penelitian ini juga merekomendasikan penyesuaian silabus mata kuliah Bahasa Indonesia.KATA KUNCI: Bahan Ajar, Bahasa Indonesia, Ilmu Hukum.��ABSTRACT: This article describes the results of research into the analysis of the needs of Indonesian language teaching materials in the department of law. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive research. Data collection is done by interview and data processing is done by steps, reduction, classification, and conclusion collection. The results of the study show that Indonesian language teaching materials majoring in law include material about (1) reading with analysis to understand thinking or reading ideas and reading reading material, (3) describing cases that have aspects (4) writing scientific papers, (5) listening, and (6) speaking scientifically.
