The main goal of the study was to implement subtests of the main neuropsychological test to the development of speech in samples of children 5–7 years old with normative development, and also to collect average indicators for this age in phonemic awareness, active and passive vocabulary, grammatical development (understanding of prepositional and logical-grammatical structures). The study sample consisted of 635 children (311 boys and 324 girls) aged 5–7 years. Children attended senior and preparatory groups of kindergartens in Moscow. The norms for the implementation of tests for four age groups (from 5 to 7 years old with a step of 0,5 years) are presented separately in the article for boys and girls. It was shown that there is a significant increase in the productivity of performing speech tasks in the selected age periods, which indicates the sensitivity of older preschool age to the development of all aspects of speech under consideration. The data obtained will be useful for a wide range of professionals in the field of early childhood education and development.

Speech development of a child with autism does not always take place at the appropriate age and does not always obey the laws of development of speech functions. According to the analysis of literature sources, the direct study of speech activity of children with autistic disorders requires a more detailed study. According to our predictions, a child with autistic disorders of older preschool age due to the peculiarities of communicative and behavioral spheres will show a low level of speech activity, which can be explained directly by the specificity of speech development along with limited language experience and insufficient knowledge of language and its use in communication. Language behavior consists of two complementary and interrelated processes: psychological formation (generation) of speech utterance and perception of the expanded speech of the interlocutor. The model of speech utterance generation includes five consecutive, interconnected stages (phases) identified by O.O. Leontiev (1967): the motive of utterance; the idea of expression; internal programming; lexical and grammatical development of the utterance; implementation of speech expression in external speech. Speech activity is one of the many forms of general activity, a reflection of the needs that arise in accordance with specific communication situations, a prerequisite and an important component of language behavior. The term "speech activity" is considered by us in the sense of the presence of a motive for speech utterance and direct speech utterance, which may occur as a reaction-response to the interlocutor's remark or as a desire to inform the interlocutor of their own thoughts, experiences, emotions, needs.

The article is devoted to the problem of verbal communication of educators with children of preschool age from the families of participants of anti-terroristic operations (ATO) and internally displaced people. The results of theoretical analysis of the problem of studying discourse as a psycholinguistic category are presented which, in the context of vocational-speaking activity, is considered as its verbalized, foreign-language phase. The interest of psycholinguistics in the study of the peculiarities of the discourse of the educational branch – pedagogical discourse is grounded since the latter is aimed at the realization of a wide range of functions (educational, communicative organizational, psychological (psychotherapeutic)), the basis of which is the implementation of the speech-impacting teacher by the addressee on their addressees (pupils). At the same time, discourse is highlighted as a dialogical process and reveals the two-sided nature of the influence of communicators on each other. Consideration of the teacher as the subject of the speech of the individual characteristics of the child-recipient, his mental condition is considered as a prerequisite for ensuring the intentional orientation of discourse. The emphasis is placed on the implementation of psychological (psychotherapeutic) functions by educators of preschool education, which is confirmed by the needs of the practice of education and development, verbal communication with children from the families of the participants of the ATO and the internally transferred people. The types of discourses aimed at providing emotional support to children of these categories in the form of discourses-positive partial assessments are defined and characterized, namely: discourse-agreement, discourse-encouragement, discourse-approval, discourse-forward-looking positive assessment, as well as various kinds of discourse-questions. It is concluded that various discourses, in the course of which the speech influence on the child is carried out, its psychic state, feeling and behavior can be regarded as specialized discourse practice - a psycholinguistic phenomenon, the basis of which is the speech activity of its participants: educators of preschool education and children of preschool age.

AbstractChicken astroviruses (CAstV) are enteric viruses of poultry causing gastroenteritis, malabsorption, gout and white chick disease commonly known as runting-stunting syndrome (RSS). It can affect the wide range of poultry birds, especially chicken, turkey and duck worldwide. To our best knowledge there is no published report on presence of antibodies against CAstV in Bangladesh. Therefore, the study aimed to detect the presence of CAstV antibodies in broilers and sonali chickens (a cross-bread) in Bangladesh through a cross-sectional survey. A total of 454 blood samples from 66 flocks of broiler (n=343) and sonali chickens (n=111) of different ages were obtained during 2017 from four districts. The birds were healthy but were not vaccinated against CAstV. The samples were tested for specific antibodies against CAstV Group B by using commercially available ELISA kit. Overall, 16.74% (76/454) samples and 34.84% (23/66) flocks were positive for CAstV antibodies. The seroprevalence of CAstV was significantly (p=0.001) higher in sonali chickens (36.96%) than broiler (10.20%), while it was significantly higher (p=0.001) in birds of Bogura district (36.94%) than the other three districts. Regarding the age groups, seroprevalence was insignificantly (p=0.192) higher in sonali chicken before laying age (45%) than during laying age (27.45%). Regarding the seasons, CAstV infection was prevalent significantly (p=0.001) higher in winter season. Thus, the present study indicated the presence of CAstV in poultry in Bangladesh, so further studies are required to find out the magnitude of the problem in the country.

Background: Monitoring of physical activity within the educational institution is of great importance, primarily because of the orientation and content implemented in the daycare. This research aimed to examine the number of steps children took during their stay in daycare with regards to age, gender and the frequency of going out. Methods: The research was conducted in four daycares in the urban environment of Novi Sad (Republic of Serbia), where 231 children, aged 5 to 7, were monitored (129 boys and 102 girls). Data on the number of steps were obtained using the pedometers. Results: The result of the univariate analysis of the variance test confirmed a statistically significant difference in the number of steps in relation to the age of children (p = 0.04). Boys were more active than girls in both age groups (p = 0.001). Children who were going to the daycare yard three to five times a week took drastically more steps than children who went up to twice a week (p = 0.001). Conclusion: The results of the current study show that age, gender, and time spent outdoors are significant determinants of physical activity in preschool age. Therefore, interventions regarding physical activity should be made during early childhood in order to promote health and prevent disease.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to present enterprise social networking and gamification as two potential tools to help organizations engage Millennial employees in collaboration and learning. Design/methodology/approach – The research provides general descriptions of enterprise social networking and gamification approaches, shares data on adoption of these approaches from APQC’s “2015 Knowledge Management Priorities Data Report” (based on a January 2015 survey of 524 knowledge management professionals) and includes four company examples adapted from APQC’s Connecting People to Content and Transferring and Applying Critical Knowledge best practices studies. The methodology for APQC’s best practices studies involves screening 50 or more organizations with potential best practices in a given research scope area and identifying five or six with proven best practices. APQC then conducts detailed site visits with the selected organizations and publishes case studies based on those site visits. Findings – Enterprise social networking platforms are in place at 50 per cent of organizations, with another 25 per cent planning to implement them by the end of 2015. By providing near-immediate access to information and answers, enterprise social networking helps Millennials learn the ropes at their new workplaces, gives them direct access to more knowledgeable colleagues who can assist and mentor them, and helps them improve their business outcomes by reusing knowledge and lessons learned across projects. Younger workers can also harness the power of social networking to create a sense of belonging and build their reputations in large, dispersed firms, where it is particularly difficult for them to gain visibility. A recent APQC survey indicates that 54 per cent of organizations either currently employ gamification to encourage collaboration or expect to implement it within the next three years. The rush to gamify the enterprise is, at least in part, a reflection of employers’ desire to satisfy Millennials and make them feel connected to a community of co-workers. Although games appeal to a wide range of age groups, Millennials grew up with digital interaction and tend to prefer environments that emphasize teamwork, social learning and frequent feedback – all of which can be delivered through gamification. Originality/value – The value of this paper is to introduce the value of and relationship between enterprise social networking and gamification platforms to human resource (HR) professionals looking to increase engagement and retention rates for Millennial employees.

ObjectivesHealth status (HS)/ health-related quality of life measures, completed by self or proxy, are important outcome indicators. Most HS literature on children born preterm includes adolescents and adults with limited data at preschool age. This study aimed to describe parent-reported HS in a large national cohort of extreme preterm children at preschool age and to identify clinical and sociodemographic variables associated with HS.MethodsInfants born before 29 weeks’ gestation between 2009 and 2011 were enrolled in a prospective longitudinal national cohort study through the Canadian Neonatal Network (CNN) and the Canadian Neonatal Follow-Up Network (CNFUN). HS, at 36 months’ corrected age (CA), was measured with the Health Status Classification System for Pre-School Children tool completed by parents. Information about HS predictors was extracted from the CNN and CNFUN databases.ResultsOf 811 children included, there were 79, 309 and 423 participants in 23–24, 25–26 and 27–28 weeks’ gestational age groups, respectively. At 36 months’ CA, 78% had a parent-reported health concern, mild in >50% and severe in 7%. Most affected HS attributes were speech (52.1%) and self-care (41.4%). Independent predictors of HS included substance use during pregnancy, infant male sex, Score for Neonatal Acute Physiology-II, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, severe retinopathy of prematurity, caregiver employment and single caregiver.ConclusionMost parents expressed no or mild health concerns for their children at 36 months’ CA. Factors associated with health concerns included initial severity of illness, complications of prematurity and social factors.
