Ms. Ch., 26 years old; poor health; started to walk at the age of 6; the first menstruation - at the age of 12, got married on the 19th and immediately became pregnant. The first birth, which lasted 46 hours, ended with a craniotomy at the Obstetric Aid in Moscow; the second pregnancy was artificially terminated by the author at the end of the 24th week, - a living child was born, died after 7 weeks from congenital weakness; The author interrupted the third pregnancy at the 36th week, and the labor was completed by the difficult imposition of forceps on the head moving above the entrance to the pelvis, - the girl was born in asphyxiation, revived. The present, fourth, pregnancy proceeded as follows: the last regulations between March 7 and 10, 1891; first fetal movement - July 24; only on 30 November (i.e. at the end of the 38th week) did the pregnant woman turn to the author.

On October 3, 1891, at 5 o'clock in the afternoon, a pregnant L.G., 24 years old, was admitted to the maternity hospital at the Hospital of the Society of Kremenchug Physicians, with complaints of pulling pains, as well as minor bloody expirations for 2 weeks. L. G. married 21/2 years, pregnant for the 3rd time: the 1st pregnancy ended in miscarriage in the 3rd month, 2nd urgent delivery 1 year and 3 months ago. The last regulations were in early May; L. G. felt fetal movement 5 days before admission to the clinic. Throughout her last pregnancy, L. G. suffered from time to time puffy pains and leucorrhoea, the latter, however, even before pregnancy. A pregnant woman is of good build, nutrition is not entirely satisfactory, thin, anemic, when listening to the heart, a noise is heard instead of the first tone. The abdomen is soft, the uterus is hard, sensitive to pressure, the bottom of it is 2 transverse fingers below the navel; the neck is soft, passes a finger; a little blood is shown from the genital tract.

Fibroepithelial polyps are benign lesions that may appear in the vulvovaginal region. They usually occur in women of reproductive age and tend to grow up to 5 cm, but there are some rare cases in which they grow up to 20 cm. We report a case of a 22-year-old woman in the third trimester of her first pregnancy with spontaneous bleeding from a pedunculated mass measuring 15 cm in the widest diameter on the right side of the vulva. Features of this case are discussed as well as its implications, especially regarding the decision of labour. Due to the big size of the mass and its propensity to bleed, we decided to perform an elective caesarean section as well as its excision.

Although the UK is a developed nation, many people in the UK experience poor health, as a result of being overweight and inactive. Healthcare workers are not immune from these issues. This article, the first in a series, explores how readers can remain healthy and well by making lifestyle choices that promote health.

Dr. Davis reported three fatal cases of vomiting during pregnancy. In the first of them, the pregnant woman suffered from gastric disorders before pregnancy; her vomiting was incessant and very exhausted her. She died at 2 months of pregnancy. Before dying, she developed a petechia-shaped spotty rash. In the second case, severe nausea and vomiting occurred at 3 weeks of pregnancy with severe pain and belching, locally: prolapsus and anteflexio uteri. The usual treatment. At 14 weeks, the anteflexed uterus was infringed at the bottom behind the pubis; the correction did not reduce vomiting. The expansion of the neck was accompanied by a slight improvement. It was decided to empty the uterus, which was done without difficulty and with minor bleeding. The patient, however, died soon after. An autopsy showed that the tissue of the uterine cervix was abnormally hard (fibrous); the uterus, ovaries, and tubes were normal; the blood was thin, fatty degeneration of the heart. In the third case, the patient, in addition to nausea and vomiting, suffered from severe pain in the epigastric region and vomiting had a coffee color. Everything possible was done, but nothing helped: the patient died.

Uterine torsion is defined as a rotation of uterus more than 45 degrees along its long axis. However, a pathologic rotation of the uterus beyond 45 degrees-torsion of the entire uterus-is rarely seen in obstetrical practice, authors report a case of torsion of the uterus by 90 degrees. The patient, a 30-year-old gravida 3 para 2 at 37 weeks’ gestation with a singleton pregnancy, her prior obstetrical history included two uncomplicated term vaginal deliveries, and the current pregnancy had been uncomplicated until the date of presentation was admitted to the obstetrical unit  with  labour at 37 weeks 5 days ,on obstetric examination the patient was in labour with transversal presentation of the fetus so an emergency caesarean section (CS) was carried out for. At the time of CS, the diagnosis of uterine torsion of 90 degrees was made. After the delivery of the baby, uterus returned to anatomical position and the torsion corrected spontaneously. The patient recovered and was discharged home with her baby on the third postoperative day. Uterine torsion is an infrequently reported and potentially dangerous complication of pregnancy that occurs mainly in the third trimester.
