Prolanis BPJS (the program of Chronic Disease Management by Social Security Health Agency) was launched for financing efficiency for chronic disease in Indonesia. The efficiency has made a noticeable impact. This study aims to observe the correlation between the program and the increase of patients’ quality of life as a result of the implementation of Prolanis BPJS. The research deployed cross sectional analytic approach in which data was collected in January 2017.During the research, 2 (two) types of questionnaire such as questionnaire of  service quality based on the SERVQUAL (Service Quality) and the SF-36 questionnaire related to the quality of life were distributed. A total of 22 respondents were involved through total sampling method to identify both the value of perception and expectations of each respondent towards the quality of  primary health care facilities in Unej Medical Center. Spearman method was implemented for data analysis reportingthe findings that in general the quality of service provided by PROLANIS BPJS indicated no correlation with the patients’ quality of life at UMC (p) 0,072,and (r) 0,391. Eight dimensions of life quality were examined, and only two of them were showed correlation with the quality of service provided, namely: the dimensions of physical function and bodily pain

Abstract STUDY QUESTION What self-management factors are associated with quality of life among women with endometriosis? SUMMARY ANSWER Greater self-efficacy was associated with improved physical and mental quality of life. WHAT IS KNOWN ALREADY Women with endometriosis have an impaired quality of life compared to the general female population. However, most studies have investigated quality of life in a hospital or clinic setting rather than a community setting and the association between self-management factors and quality of life have not, to date, been investigated. STUDY DESIGN, SIZE, DURATION A cross-sectional, population-based online survey was performed, which was advertised through women’s, community and endometriosis-specific groups. PARTICIPANTS/MATERIALS, SETTING, METHODS A total of 620 women completed the survey for this study. Mental and physical quality of life was assessed using the standardized SF36v2 questionnaire. Self-management factors included self-efficacy, partners in health (active involvement in managing the condition) and performance of self-care activities. Treatment approaches included the use of hormonal treatment, pain medications and complementary therapies and whether the participant had a chronic disease management plan. Hierarchical regression analyses were used to examine whether self-management and treatment factors were associated with quality of life. MAIN RESULTS AND THE ROLE OF CHANCE Both physical and mental quality of life were significantly lower among women with endometriosis compared to the mean scores of the general Australian female population (P < 0.001). Physical quality of life was positively associated with income sufficiency (P < 0.001) and greater self-efficacy (P < 0.001), but negatively associated with age (P < 0.001), pain severity (P < 0.001), use of prescription medications (P < 0.001), having a chronic disease management plan (P < 0.05) and number of self-care activities (P < 0.05). Mental quality of life was positively associated with being older (P < 0.001), partnered (P < 0.001), having a university education (P < 0.05), increasing self-efficacy (P < 0.001) and higher partners in health scores (P < 0.001). LIMITATIONS, REASONS FOR CAUTION Results are derived from a cross-sectional study and can only be interpreted as associations not as causal relationships. The sample was more educated, more likely to speak English and be born in Australia than the general Australian female population of the same age, which may influence the generalizability of these results. WIDER IMPLICATIONS OF THE FINDINGS This study investigated a knowledge gap by investigating quality of life of women with endometriosis in a large community sample. Self-efficacy was significantly associated with both physical and mental quality of life. Supporting women with endometriosis to improve self-efficacy through a structured chronic disease management programme may lead to improvements in this aspect of wellbeing. Abstract Purpose: Mammography is broadly used in early detection of breast cancer. However, women undergoing mammography had experienced physical, psychological, and social disturbance; this could affect their Quality of Life (QoL). Only few studies in QoL have been done on cancer screening populations. The purpose of this study was to explore factors associated with QoL among women undergoing mammography. Methods: This research used a cross-sectional questionnaire survey and conducted with 158 women who were undergoing mammography. Data were collected from an outpatient department in a medical center located in central Taiwan from December 2014 to October 2015. The Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy Scale –General, Chinese version was used to assess the QoL. Emotional distress was measured by using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale and Mishel’s Uncertainty in Illness Scale. Descriptive statistic and multiple liner regression were used to analyze the data. Results: The multiple liner regression results revealed that women with benign breast tumors had better functional well-being (β = 1.276, p = 0.021). Women who had higher uncertainty (β=-0.216, p < 0.01) and emotional distress (β = -1.229, p < 0.01) experienced lower QoL. Conclusion: In this study, the uncertainty, emotional distress significantly predicted the QoL in women undergoing mammography screening. Clinical staff should pay attention to the emotional problems of women undergoing mammography. When women receive the mammography, this is an opportune time to educate them regarding the examination process and inform them of how reductions in uncertainty and emotional problems may help improve their QoL.

Background: Musculoskeletal disorders in welders may influence their health-related quality of life. However, few studies have addressed this issue and their results were inconclusive. This study investigates whether there are musculoskeletal disorders with a higher incidence in welders compared to non-welders, and whether these disorders lead to an increase in bodily pain which in turn decreases their health-related quality of life. Methods:A priori analyses of statistical power were conducted to determine the sample size needed to find medium to large statistical effects, for a 0.05 alpha, and critical sampling, combined with snowball sampling, was carried out. The study was cross-sectional, and participants were asked to respond to a survey using validated instruments (Nwelders = 40, Nnon−welders = 42).Results: As expected, a higher incidence of symptoms of musculoskeletal disorders in the cervical, dorsal, lumbar, and wrists and hands was found in welders in comparison to non-welders. Furthermore, the presence of musculoskeletal disorders, particularly in the lumbar area, was related to an increased bodily pain and decreased health-related quality of life. Conclusion: Welders are exposed to a higher incidence of musculoskeletal disorders that decrease their quality of life. It is essential to increase the awareness of welders, organizations, and regulatory institutions toward this issue in order to motivate the development and implementation of prevention strategies. The need for primary and secondary prevention-type strategies, which have already proven their effectiveness in the context of welding, is highlighted.

Introduction: Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a serious genetic life-shortening disease. Quality of life (QoL) measurement related to CF children is a relatively new field of research, which includes the patient’s perspective in research and clinical practice. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the QoL in children with CF and its association with FEV1 (forced expiratory volume in 1 second). Patients and Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out on 7-14 years old children with CF attending children’s medical center from March 2017 to March 2018. Throat swab cultures and spirometry evaluation was performed for all patients. FEV1 was determined and the 6-min walk test (6MWT) was conducted. The patient’s psychological status was assessed using the Persian version of pediatric QoL inventory. ANOVA, t test, and chisquare tests were used for data analysis. Results: Seventy-six subjects with the mean age of 10.49±3.18 years were studied since 59% of them (n=44) were boys. The mean total QoL was 65.34±17.73. Patients with lower pulmonary function had a lower QoL. There was a significant association between FEV1 and school and emotional functioning (P=0.005 and P=0.002, respectively). A significant association was found between SPO2 (peripheral capillary oxygen saturation) reduction after 6MWT and FEV1 decline (P=0.001). Additionally, a significant association was detected between FEV1 and the distance walked during 6MWT (P=0.030). Conclusion: Regarding the association between pulmonary function and QoL in CF patients and lower QoL score in our study, the importance of assessing pulmonary function in these patients should not be neglected.
