Digitalization of traction rolling stock repairs

The article considers the approach to the mastering of modern digital technologies in the locomotive complex with regard to the tasks of increasing the controllability and, as a result, the efficiency of technological processes of maintenance and repair of traction rolling stock. The organizational, technical and technological solutions implemented in the first digital depot, created on the basis of the locomotive depot Vikhorevka of the East Siberian Traction Directorate of JSC «Russian Railways» (service locomotive depot Bratskoe of OOO «LokoTeh-Servis») are presented. Joint application of the complex of implemented solutions ensures implementation of the new technology of organization of locomotives maintenance and repair, feasibility of reaching the targets for readiness of the traction rolling stock for operation. Achieving efficiency of the technology built within the framework of the Digital Depot project is ensured by the universality of the repair position - all technological operations on locomotives maintenance and repair are performed at the digital universal repair position, including supercycle unscheduled works, are carried out in a single place without additional maneuvering. The universality of repair positions together with application of radio-controlled self-propelled traction unit with hybrid power plant increases the depot energy efficiency, reduces the expenses for maintenance of shunting locomotives stock and their total number, as well as allows to increase rhythmicity of locomotive repair. Implementation of transparent comprehensive information exchange between the process equipment of repair position, the systems for collecting, processing, analyzing data and information obtained in real time from on-board locomotive systems, monitoring and diagnostics systems applied during locomotive acceptance for repair, input and operation control, as well as at the stage of output control, provides the efficiency of control actions, objectivity of personnel performance discipline control and compliance with technical processes, increases the practical value of diagnostic data, which form the basis of qualitative repair and reliability of locomotives in operation.

Possible methods of financing mechanisms for investment in infrastructure development have been identified.

The article discusses a new technology in the field of administration – a method of data-based management. In the field of education, analytics is the necessary manager’s competence to fulfill his work duties. The author identified the problem of transforming legal norms when working with open data, which did not affect the change in institutional and cultural norms of “data- based management” in managerial decision-making practice. The article provides a comparative analysis of the professional standards’ requirements and educational programs for the managerial personnel’s professional development in the field of education. The author analyzed two aspects of the development of a data-based management system: personnel – the development of educational programs for training managerial specialists who can use such technology, and infrastructure – the development of digital open data services and digital data processing services for making managerial decisions. The tasks of developing education through the analysis of data for assessing its quality are reflected in the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation “On national goals and strategic objectives for the development of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2024” and can be implemented based on the professional capital of managers using tools for analyzing such data. It is necessary to improve the interaction of electronic information exchange services for more effective information interaction and the construction of analytical reporting. This will allow for the efficient integration of data from different information systems and electronic resources and obtain the necessary data of the information of interest.

The paper analyzes the technological preparation of production at the railcar enterprises in terms of developing technological processes and processing sets of technological documents. Factors affecting the quality of technological preparation of production for maintenance and repair of rolling stock are considered. In contrast to the previously performed works, where the assessment of the level of technological training was carried out by experts of a scientific organization, the initial data in the article were the results of a survey of specialists of technical departments of structural divisions of the car industry of the Sverdlovsk and South Ural Railways. Based on the method of expert qualimetry, the weight of factors that have the greatest impact on the quality of technological processes is estimated. As a result of the survey, a low level of automation of design processes was established, which consists mainly in the design of technological documentation. It is shown that the degree of depth of development and detail of technological processes is at the level of the route description

Under uncertainty, understanding and controlling complex environments is only possible with an ability to use distributed computing by the way of information exchange between devices to be able to understand the response of the system to a particular problem. From transformation of raw data in a huge distribution of network into the meaningful information, to use the understood knowledge to make rapid decisions needs to have a network composed of smart devices. Internet of things (IoT) is a novel approach, where these smart devices can communicate with each other by using key technologies of artificial intelligence (AI) in order to make timely autonomous decisions. This emerging technical advancement and realization of horizontal and vertical integration caused the fourth stage of industrialization (Industry 4.0). The objective of this chapter is to give detailed information on both IoT based on key AI technologies and Industry 4.0. It is expected to shed light on new work to be done by providing explanations about the new areas that will emerge with this new technology.

The value of the life cycle of rolling stock wheels is determined by the frequency of maintenance, in the process of which the turning is carried out to restore the profiles of the rolling surfaces, or the replacement of completely worn wheels. Traffic safety depends on the technical condition of the wheels of locomotives and wagons. Maintenance and repair of wheelsets accounts for about 30% of all costs of Ukrzaliznytsia's rolling stock repair units. Wheel repair technologies are based on the complete restoration of wheel profiles by turning, using which, their life cycle is reduced, and costs increase by 20% or more. The railways of Ukraine use an outdated, unreasonable, inefficient system of control over the formation of rolling surfaces in operation. Therefore, there is a need to create a scientifically sound approach to methods of extending the life cycle of the wheels of locomotives and wagons while ensuring the safety of railway rolling stock. According to the proposed scientific approach, the wheel profile is restored to optimal parameters, which provides an extended life cycle of wheelsets. As a result of the developed scientific approach the life cycle of wheel pairs will increase by 15… 25% and the expenses of the railway for their repair will considerably decrease.

The efficiency of commercial automobiles and wheeled military vehicles mainly depends on the choice of maintenance (M) and current repair (CR) concept. In the paper the difficulties of adapting the (M) and (CR) planning strategies to the structural characteristics of modern transport facilities are pointed out. The advantages of using the (M) and (CR) random strategy for transport facilities based on the stochastic nature of failures and malfunctions are substantiated. Considering the failures and malfunctions as random values and identifying the patterns of their distribution based on γ percentage resources, it is proposed to develop a list of regulated maintenance and repair work, periodicity and labor intensity based on a random strategy, which will increase the efficiency of preserving the technical resource of the rolling stock throughout the entire life cycle of the vehicle.
