This study examines the spatial distribution of markets and its impact on household travel patterns in Akure, Nigeria. Both primary and secondary data were utilized for the research. The coordinates of locations of markets were obtained using a hand held Geographical Position System (GPS) and determined by measured using the ‘Ruler’ menu of ArcGIS 10.3.1 software. A structured questionnaire was designed to elicit information on household travel patterns. Using descriptive and inferential statistics, the findings reveal that market is randomly distributed. A linear association exits between distance travel to market and household mode choice of transportation and it is significant at 0.05%. Inadequate transport services and traffic congestion are problems faced by households in Akure on their trips to markets. The study concludes that more periodic or daily markets should be provided in some localities that do not have in Akure and similar other cities in Nigeria.

This study examined the accessibility of elderly citizens to some basic services in Akure metropolis. This was carried out with a view to determine the patterns of distribution and accessibility of these services in the city. Primary and secondary data were employed for this study. Geographical Positioning System was used to capture the coordinates of important locations and of some basic facilities such as Public Tertiary Hospital, Primary Health care centre and banks in the city. Nearest Neighbour Analysis was used to calculate the mean distance travel to some basic services from 13 major localities in Akure metropolis. Descriptive and inferential statistics were employed to analyse the data. Finding reveals that some basic facilities are not evenly distributed across different localities in Akure. The mean distance travel to Public Tertiary Hospital is 3.36kms. The pattern of distribution of Public Tertiary Hospital is dispersed rather than random. More than 60% of the elderly rely on public transport services for their trip to access some basic facilities in the city. Traffic delay was ranked highest (66%) among the problems militating against the effective utilisation of urban facilities in Akure metropolis. The study recommends that more basic facilities should be provided in localities where such services are lacking. This would reduce long distance trip to these facilities in the city. The study concludes that better transport services should be made available at reasonable transport fares in order to promote accessibility of the elderly and other segments of the population to urban facilities in Akure and similar other cities in Nigeria.

Congestion in the urban transport network is common not only in large agglomerations, but also in medium-sized cities in all countries that are characterized by a high level of socio-economic development. Traffic congestion has negative impact on economic, social, and environment development. The costs of congestion are borne by all users of the transport system, both drivers, passengers, entities providing transport services, as well as enterprises using freight transport services. The purpose of the article is to discuss the results of the study on the impact of congestion on the costs of public transport in a medium-sized city. The research method consisted in the analysis of vehicle road cards, fuel consumption statements for buses belonging to the Municipal Transport Company in Starogard Gdański and the examination of real bus travel times and the scale of delays caused by congestion on individual lines. The analysis of the data shows that thecompany bears much higher costs of fuel consumption, and passengers are exposed to bus arrivals and departures inconsistently with the timetable, prompting them to opt out of public transport services. This results in lower revenues from ticket sales and deterioration of the company’s financial result.

This paper reviews traffic congestion problem and its solutions. BRTS becomeattractive and effective solution which is adopted in many countries. The aim of the present paper is to describe effect of BRTS which is the sustainable solution for public transport services in urban area. Various study carried out to developed guidelines forimplementation of BRTS for different countries. Each country having different BRTS features as well as its impact also. The impact can be measure by micro-simulation before implementation of BRTS. Simulation gives realistic result under real world application.

In the era of public participation in government, public emotions and expectations are important considerations influencing urban construction, planning, and management. A desirable urban environment can make people feel at ease and comfortable and contribute to promoting positive public emotions. However, in the process of rapid urban development, the high-density and overloaded urban built environment has triggered people’s mental tension and anxiety and has contributed to negative emotions. Thus, this study aimed to explore the spatial distribution of public emotions and urban built environments in cities and to thoroughly investigate the correlation between urban built environments and public emotions. Considering the lack of dynamic elements analysis and emotions spatial analysis in previous studies, this study takes Wuhan City as an example, uses social media big data as the basis for text emotion analysis, introduces dynamic traffic elements, and establishes a multidimensional urban built environment measurement index system from five aspects: land use, spatial form, road and traffic, green space and open space, and daily life service facilities. Subsequently, the spatial distribution characteristics of public sentiment and urban built environment elements in Wuhan were analyzed. Finally, a geographically weighted regression method was used to analyze the degree of influence of different urban built environment elements on public emotions. The results showed that public emotions in Wuhan are not homogeneously distributed in terms of score and space and that there are significant differences. The urban built environment has a significant influence on public emotions. Higher land use mix, higher road network density, higher number of public transportation facilities, higher number of public open spaces, lower traffic congestion, and impact of freight transportation play important roles in promoting positive emotions. Therefore, in the process of urban construction, planners and decision makers should purposefully improve the quality of the built environment. Measures can include improving the mix of land functions, alleviating traffic congestion, avoiding the negative effects of freight traffic, rationally constructing green and open spaces, and improving various living facilities. This can help contribute toward improving urban functions and urban environments, and promote the construction of a people-oriented healthy city.

This paper studies the impact of Training and Development practices on the employee performance in the select Omani Public and Private sector banking organizations. The aim of the paper is to analyze the impact of training and development practices on employee performance. The study adopts descriptive research design and it imbibes both primary and secondary data. Convenience sampling method is applied for collecting the data through administering a structured questionnaire. The sample size for the study is 300. Statistical tools like Pearson Correlation Analysis, Regression Analysis and ANOVA were applied to test the proposed alternate hypothesis. The study concludes that Training and Development Practices have a positive influence on employee performance in the Omani Banking Industry

This research applied secondary data collection methods to predict passenger flows, which involved analyzing traffic flows at rail stations and statistical methods, which involved assessing the relationship between variables and regression. Observation methods were used to measure current passenger flows at the rail station entrances. Passengers’ safety perception was assessed to understand the customer value of transport services. This assessment was based on an online survey, an analysis of official requests from passengers to the station directorates, and feedback from passengers and station visitors posted on the Internet. Traditional and content analysis methods were used to study passengers’ requests and feedbacks. It was substantiated that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the concept of transportation security and the role of health safety as a customer value in passenger service have become more prominent. The possibility for passenger flow simulation to ensure people’s safe passage through a disinfection gateway is clearly shown. Public space management structures in transportation hubs can use the simulation results of this paper to solve the problem of passenger flow control along with installation of disinfection gateways at the station entrances for additional security. This is one of the few studies that explores the impact of using disinfection gateways to manage passenger flows in train stations.

This paper examines the impact of microfinance on some selected women borrower respondents of Bangladesh, who have been selected through a systematic random survey process. This is a quantitative research based on primary and secondary data. The primary data was collected through a structured questionnaire on sixty women borrowers of the Dhaka City, Bangladesh. This paper finds that microfinance has a highly significant positive impact on the income of these women borrower respondents. Moreover, though microfinance encourages for savings and buying new asset but it has no significant impact on their asset building and savings.Overall, there has been a mixed outcome from this cross-sections data: microfinance has been found as a matter for women borrowers’ income increasing aspects, whereas not much effective in increasing savings or building up of assets. Finally the paper recommends some steps to increase effectiveness of microfinance on the women borrowers, including expanding training facilities and lower interest rates particularly for women borrowers.

Covid-19 pandemic has impacted the society, business and economy around the world. The present study is conducted to understand and analyse the impact of Covid-19 crisis on micro-enterprises in Lunglei, Mizoram. For the purpose of the study, 80 micro-enterprises were selected as sample. Primary data were collected by using the structured questionnaire. Secondary data were collected through journals, books and websites. The study reflected that 80% of the enterprises’ revenue were negatively impacted by the pandemic. 58.75% of the enterprises were facing the problems in making obligatory payments such as salaries, wages, rent, taxes, loans etc due to the Covid-19 crisis. The present study also revealed that 28.75% of the enterprises’ working capital were already negative to run the enterprises if Covid-19 crisis continues. Therefore, the study recommended that the government, banks and financial institutions would take steps to alleviate the impact of Covid-19 crisis on the micro-enterprises by providing low interest loans, relaxation of the loan payment, new schemes for entrepreneurs.


Green marketing refers to the process of selling goods or services based on environmental benefits. Green selling is very much significant for a number of reasons from eliminating extravagance and to educate all the consumers about maintaining the product or services eco-friendly. Objective of the studyis to identify the awareness of green marketing among retailers and to analyses the impact of green marketing on environment. This study is a quantitative type of research and it involves a descriptive research design. Quantitative research is obtained based on the structured questionnaire framed. Researcher has taken Primary Data through Questionnaire and Secondary Data through Journals, Magazines and Internet. Researcher Used Bar Diagram, Pie Diagram and Chi-Square Analysis for Interpretation.
