This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-509. Producer or source: Jessop Steel Company.

Abstract Type 316L (UNS S31603) is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless and heat-resisting steel with superior corrosion resistance to other chromium-nickel steels when exposed to many types of chemical corrodents, as well as marine atmospheres. Carbide precipitation as a result of welding in this low carbon version will be minimized, resulting in less susceptibility to intergranular corrosion. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: SS-900. Producer or source: J & L Specialty Steel Inc.

Abstract Allegheny Ludlum 316 and 316L are corrosion resistant, molybdenum bearing austenitic stainless steels. Type 316L is the low carbon grade of type 316 offering decreased carbide precipitation. The MINIMISER form is an improved machinability version with a change in the sulfur composition, still maintaining the dual certification capability of the base type 316/316L grades. Like standard 316 and 316L stainless steels, MINIMISER 316/316L is more resistant to acids and pitting/crevice corrosion than the molybdenum-free 18-8 type stainless steels. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, microstructure, and elasticity. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: SS-776. Producer or source: Allegheny Ludlum Corporation.

Abstract Type 201L is a low carbon version of type 201, an austenitic Cr-Ni-Mn stainless steel. It maintains satisfactory intergranular corrosion resistance in applications involving welding, particularly heavier gage material. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as heat treating. Filing Code: SS-825. Producer or source: Allegheny Ludlum Corporation.

Abstract Sandmeyer 410S (UNS S41008) is a 13% chromium, ferritic stainless steel. It is a low carbon, non-hardening modification of Type 410 stainless steel. This non-hardening characteristic helps prevent cracking when the alloy is exposed to high temperatures or welded. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-1322. Producer or source: Sandmeyer Steel Company.

Abstract Carlson Alloy 904L is a 21Cr-24Ni-4.5Mo-1.5Cu low-carbon austenitic alloy that resists corrosion in a wide range of both oxidizing and reducing environments. It has good pitting and crevice-corrosion resistance and eliminates stress-corrosion cracking in most common chloride environments. The alloy resists intergranular corrosion in postwelded or stress-relieved conditions because of its very low carbon content. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-844. Producer or source: G.O. Carlson Inc.

Abstract AK Steel Type 316L is a Cr-Ni-Mo steel with a very low carbon content (0.03 max). Its general resistance to corrosion is similar to AISI Type 316 (see Alloy Digest SS-865, October 2002) but, because of its low carbon content, it has superior resistance to the formation of harmful carbides that contribute to intergranular corrosion. Type 316L is used widely in many industries such as chemical, food, paper, textile, nuclear, and oil. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-872. Producer or source: AK Steel Corporation.

Abstract ALZ 316L is a Cr-Ni-Mo steel with a very low carbon content (0.030 max). Its general resistance to corrosion is similar to AISI Type 316 but, because of its low carbon content, it has superior resistance to the formation of harmful carbides that contribute to intergranular corrosion. Its molybdenum content gives it greater resistance to pitting and makes the alloy suitable for uses where corrosive conditions are severe. Type 316L is used widely in many industries such as chemical, food, paper, textile, nuclear, and oil. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SS-838. Producer or source: ALZ nv.

Abstract AL 439HP is similar to the popular alloy Type 439, except for its very low carbon content. The low carbon content of AL 439HP enhances its formability and intergranular corrosion resistance. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: SS-829. Producer or source: Allegheny Ludlum Corporation.
