UKM Mandiri Jaya is a community group effort that has not been economically productive, but has a strong desire to become an entrepreneur. Members of these SMEs are made up of economically weak communities. They have a very low income. Daily necessities of life are obtained through farming and catfish farming. The effort is carried out on arable land and the home page. Agricultural products are sold, but are not able to meet the increasing needs. Catfish farming is also carried out on a small scale because it is constrained by the high price of feed on the market. With the aim to develop the business of fish farming, SMEs have been given fish seeds, materials and pellet making equipment and fish feed making machines. A fish feed machine is needed so that farmers can increase their income by utilizing existing ingredients as a fish feed composition. Partners have been trained so as to be able to make their own fish feed from quality ingredients and partners have the ability to use the machines provided. Through the feed produced by the use of a given machine, the better fish growth. More fish yields resulting in an increase in income for these partners.

AbstractIn fish farming activities there are a number of important things that must be considered, namely feeding and controlling the quality of the water in the pond such as water temperature, pH level and water clarity, because these elements are important for fish growth and life. Adjusting the time to feed the fish is also very important so that the fish can stay alive, if it is too late to feed the fish the fish can be stressed and eventually starve to death. Fish owners who have a fairly busy level of activity, will feel a little difficulty when leaving the house in a long time, because meeting the needs of fish and continuous monitoring is very time consuming. Thus, an automatic fish feeding device was developed which can be adjusted when feeding and measuring the feeding. In this study, Arduino Uno and Arduino Mega 2560 are the "brains" that control inputs, processes and outputs. Servo motor as a cover drive where fish feed is released. Water temperature sensors, pH sensors and water clarity sensors or TDS to monitor the state of the water. The output generated from the auto fish feeder has issued the feed in accordance with the set hours when testing, only the size of the feed will affect the amount of feed that comes out, as well as testing the temperature sensor, pH, and water clarity working properly.

Catfish is one of the freshwater fish whose demand is increasing every year, both in the form of fresh fish and processed foods. This increase in demand along with the ease of maintenance has made catfish a cultivated commodity that is widely eyed by fish farmers. One of the important aspects in fish farming is the provision of fish feed, although it is relatively easy, but feed management is needed to increase fish production targets. The fish feeding method mostly uses manual sowing on the surface of the pond. This method has weaknesses in terms of labor requirements and the time required if catfish farmers have many ponds, especially if the breeders forget the schedule for fish feeding. The method of implementing this community service consists of socializing activities, presenting material, directing the steps for making automatic fish feeding tools, tool making practices, tool testing and evaluation. The manufacture of this automatic fish feed tool generally consists of making the body of the tool and the assembly of the timer module components. This activity was attended by 20 people who are members of the SYSGA group in Sumbersari District, a community group engaged in catfish farming. The activity went smoothly, the participants seemed enthusiastic during the activity. Further monitoring is needed to determine the level of effectiveness and efficiency of catfish production by breeders after the use of automatic fish feed equipment.

The increasing costs of commercial fish feeds have made it imperative for most small-scale pond fish farmers in Ghana to resort to the use of alternative feed types to feed cultured fish. Some fish farmers rotate commercial feeds with farm-made types. This study was carried out to investigate the production and use of farm-made fish feeds by small-scale pond fish farmers in five major pond fish farming Regions (Ashanti, Brong-Ahafo, Central, Volta and Western) in Ghana. Of the 147 farmers interviewed in all the five regions, 86 farmers used farm-made feeds of which 37 depended solely on farm-made feeds whilst 49 used both commercial and farm-made feeds. Farm-made feeds were produced using locally available ingredients and the most used oneswere groundnut bran (92%), fish meal (90%), wheat bran (74%) and maize (60%). The farmers did not follow appropriate and standardized feed formulation protocol during farm-made fish feed production. Hence, farm-made fish feeds produced by all farmers interviewed were found not to be nutritionally balanced. There is the need for small-scale pond fish farmers in Ghana to be trained in formulation and production of nutritionally balanced and cost-effective fish feeds so as to increase fish production through aquaculture in the country.

Growing trout under closed water supply is linked to economic issues such as high planting density per unit area and the choice of granular feed, which in terms of value should be inexpensive and fully meet the needs of fish with all the necessary nutrients and nutrition. This approach is reflected in the materials of the scientific and practical publication on the intensity of growth and assessment of marketable qualities of trout for use in the feeding of granulated compound feeds of the firm “Aller Aqua”. Scientific research consisted in determination of morphometric indices of different age groups of trout, studies of chemical, amino acid and lipid composition of tissues, which allowed us to draw conclusions about the efficiency of feeding fish with the investigated feed. The research and production experiment was conducted in the conditions of PJSC “Bilshevtsi-Fish”, located in the village Bilshevtsi of Ivano-Frankivsk region. In order to study the effect of different types of compound feed on the exchange processes in rainbow trout, three-stage studies were conducted. The research is based on a comparative assessment of the impact of the above granular feed on the overall functional state of fish growth and quality indicators of the products obtained. The selection of appropriate feed for the rational supply of fish needs with all the necessary nutrients is of particular importance in the planned production of salmon fisheries, the demand for which is constantly growing in human nutrition. Therefore, the nutrients contained in the feed should not only support the vital activity of the organism, but also promote its growth and ensure the normal functioning of the whole organism. The feed used granular feed from the manufacturer Aller Aqua and Biomar, the recipe and the diameter of the granules according to the age and weight of the fish. Feed composition and nutrition were consistent with the period of fish cultivation. The daily rate of feed was calculated in accordance with conventional methods in fisheries, taking into account the temperature of the water and the weight of the fish. The purpose of the study was to study the effect of the tested feed on the functional state of growth, biochemical parameters of muscle tissue and liver. Only healthy fish without visible damage, which were caught immediately prior to the study, were used for the study and were not fed for 24 h. During the research, the main linear indicators were determined using conventional techniques in fisheries. The conducted studies allow us to conclude on the direct link between the marketable qualities of rainbow trout and the feed consumed, their quality composition and nutritional value. In addition, the influence of abiotic factors, which were the same for all trout groups studied, were considered, which are equally important and, along with rational feeding, occupy a key place in production.

The design, fabrication and performance evaluation of a fish feed pelletizing machine for low income farmers was carried out with the view to encourage local technology, as most of the fish feed pelletizing machines available are imported. The fish feed pelletizer is powered by an electric motor and it works by the rotation of a screw auger which propels the feed mix through a die. The screw auger is enclosed in the auger casing and is propelled by an electric motor with the aid of belt and pulleys. This auger is fed through a hopper, which is able to hold a large quantity of the feed mix at a time. The machine was tested using different die diameters of 2 mm, 4 mm and 6 mm. The test was conducted at different moisture content of 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30% and 35% wet basis. The machine test results showed that the pelletizing efficiency increases as moisture content and die diameter increase. The machine throughput also increases with both moisture content and die diameter. Highest efficiency of 98% was obtained when the moisture content was maintained at 25% wet basis and the feed materials were made to pass through 6 mm die diameter. The total cost of the design and construction of this pelletizing machine was one    hundred and five thousand naira (N105, 000.00) which is still reasonably affordable by small scale famers.

Dahan Rejo Village, Kebomas District is one of the centers of fish farming centers in Gresik Regency. The obstacle faced by pond farmers is the high price of feed, which increases the cost of production and capital. Farmers have not yet used alternative feed and are still dependent on factory-made pellets. The alternative solution that can be done is to make pellets from local materials such as tofu pellets and corn with steamer technology. The aim of this program is to empower the people of Dahan Rejo Village to make floating fish feed from local materials. The methods used are program preparation, product making and proximate analysis, making tutorial videos and guidebooks, socializing and training, mentoring, monitoring, and evaluating. The result of this community empowerment program is that farmer groups have the potential to develop floating fish pellets. Proximate analysis of floating fish pellets showed protein content of  31.6%, 6.8% fat, 4.2% reducing sugar, 4.4% crude fiber, and Ca minerals 0.3%. Tutorial videos and guidebooks for making floating fish pellets are good and suitable for use by the community. Farmers can make pellets from local raw materials independently with the percentage of material achievement being 70% of the total number of group members. The accompanying results show that the obstacles faced by fish pond farmers are weather, supporting raw materials, and marketing. The monitoring and evaluation results show that pond farmers in Dahan Rejo Village are committed to developing floating fish pellets from local raw materials as an effort to sustain the program.

The intensification and development potential of the aquaculture sector has created challenges in finding alternative sources of protein for use in fish feed diets to develop feeds that provide adequate nutrition for fish growth while reducing the use of traditional protein sources. Therefore, the paper aimed to study the feasibility and effectiveness of feed additives “Bio-Mos” and “NuPro®” when implementing them into the diet of this year's carp (Сyprinus carpio). Researches were carried out in the conditions of the fishery “Rudnyky” of the Mykolaiv district of the Lviv region. The object of the study was this year's carp (Cyprinus carpio L.), which were grown in monoculture with artificial feed. In our research, it was found that the maximum average monthly temperature of the water supply source is set in August – +25.6 °С. The oxygen concentration was in the range of 6.5–7.3 mg/dm3. The highest values of permanganate oxidation were found in August – 12.8 g O2/m3, NO2 content increased slightly in July (0.052 mgN/l) and August (0.071 mgN/l) the number of nitrates increased slightly in August and September at 0.360 mgN/l and 0.281 mgN/l. The concentration of NH4+ was at the level of minimum values – 0.151–0.331 mg N/dm3. The phosphate content (PO4-3) fluctuated slightly in the range of 0.11–0.18 mg P/dm3. As a result of research, it was found that when the drug “NuPro” was included in the diet, the average individual weight of this year's carp was higher during the caught period by 24.3 %, and when using the additive “Bio-Mos” this figure exceeded the control by 28.6 %. Accordingly, the total mass of caught young carp from the second experimental pond exceeded this figure in the first control pond by 45.0 %, and in the third experimental pond, respectively – by 57.4 %. At the same time, “NuPro” та “Bio-Mos” increase the survival of young people from 9.3 % to 16.7 %. Therefore, when using feed additives “NuPro” and “Bio-Mos” in the amount of 2 % by weight of feed has a positive effect on the productivity of this year`s carp (Cyprinus carpio L.), which are grown in the III zone of fish farming.
