Abstract. This present study aims to investigate the correlation between students’ perceptions of Slack application and their motivations in writing skills. An analysis of the research literature in perception and motivation as Wei and Elias (2011) theory revealed that students’ perceptions of classroom environment play an essential role in promoting students’ motivation in learning a language. A quantitative correlation was used in this present study. Thus, the data were collected by employing close-ended questionnaires towards Likert Scale technique. However, this study was conducted at one university in Tasikmalaya. The findings show that the correlation coefficient of rxy is 0.77. According to the strength of the correlation table, the rxy= 0.77 lies between 0.75 and 0.99 which means there is a correlation between students’ perceptions of online Slack application and their motivations in writing. This study suggested that Slack Application can be used as an alternative to facilitate students’ engagement in classroom activities.Keywords: ICT, Slack application, students’ motivation, writing skillAbstrak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menyelidiki hubungan yang ada antara persepsi siswa tentang aplikasi Slack dan motivasi mereka dalam keterampilan menulis. Analisis literatur penelitian dalam persepsi dan motivasi sebagai teori Wei dan Elias (2011) mengungkapkan bahwa persepsi siswa tentang lingkungan kelas memainkan peran penting dalam mempromosikan motivasi siswa dalam belajar bahasa. Korelasi kuantitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Dengan demikian, pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner tertutup terhadap teknik Skala Likert. Namun penelitian ini dilakukan di salah satu Universitas di Tasikmalaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rxy memiliki koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,77. Berdasarkan tabel kekuatan hubungan, rxy = 0.77 berada di antara 0.75 dan 0.99 yang berarti hubungan tersebut sangat kuat. Studi ini menyarankan bahwa Slack Application dapat menjadi cara lain untuk memfasilitasi keterlibatan siswa dalam kegiatan kelas.Kata kunci: aplikasi Slack, ICT, keterampilan menulis, motivasi siswa

In the present study, with the aim of analyzing the relationship among teacher feedback, feedforward, and grade, the corrections and comments made by four experienced assessors on 187 compositions were under scrutiny. These essays were written by 56 Swedish university students studying English as a second language at three different educational levels. The results reveal that while there were clear links between mid-essay corrections/comments and grades given, the links between mid-essay corrections/comments and end comments were not only comparatively few, but less clear. Moreover, although valued highly in the research literature because of their ability to promote writing skills in an enhanced manner, there were more summative end comments than formative ones. The conclusion was, therefore, drawn that it is quite taxing for assessors, even for experienced ones, to produce connections that involve an alignment among a) mid-essay corrections/comments, b) end comments and c) grade that will, at the same time, promote students’ writing skills in accordance with what is suggested by the research literature. The assessors were, however, irrespective of grade given, attuned to the educational level at hand, focusing more on analytic aspects at the two lower levels, while taking a more holistic approach at the highest educational level. This may indicate that offering corrections/comments does not only entail a developmental journey for students, but for teachers too.

This study aims to explain the following. First, the relationship of reading interest, news writing skill of grade VIII students SMP Negeri 24 Padang. Secondly, the relationship between learning motivation with news writing skills of grade VIII students. Third, the relationship between reading interest and learning motivation with news writing skills of grade VIII students. The population was grade VIII students. Samples are 40 students grade VIII students SMP Negeri 24 Padang performed using proportional random sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and performance tests. Questionnaire was used to see interest in reading and students' motivation, while performance tests conducted to determine the outcome of news riting skills of students. Analysis and discussion of the data is done in accordance with the concept of descriptive correlational study. Based on the research conducted can be summarized as the follows. First, there is a significant correlation between reading interest, the news writing skills of grade VIII students SMP Negeri 24 Padang. Secondly, there is a significant relationship between learning motivation and news writing skill of grade VIII students. Third, there is a significant relationship between interest in reading and learning motivation together with news writing skills students.

This study aims to (1) prove a significant relationship between short story writing skills and reading interest. (2) proves a significant relationship between short story writing skills and mastery of figurative language. This type of research is quantitative research and the research design used is an expost facto correlational design. The data of this research are numerical data/nominal scores of interest in reading, mastery of figurative language and short story writing skills. Data collection techniques, namely questionnaire data to collect information on reading interest, multiple choice test data, and data on the assignment of writing short stories. The data analysis technique uses statistics that aim to determine the relationship between variables. The results obtained indicate that the results of the questionnaire analysis of students' reading interest get the category level with the highest frequency, which is in the high category. The results of the analysis of students' mastery of figurative language got the category level with the highest frequency, which was in the medium category. The results of the analysis of students' short story writing skills got the category level with the highest frequency, which was in the high category. There is a significant relationship between the variable of reading interest and short story writing skills with a significance value of 0.002 with a correlation coefficient of 0.437, therefore the value of sig. <0.05 indicates a moderate positive relationship between reading interest and short story writing skills. There is a significant relationship between the variable mastery of figurative language and short story writing skills with a significance value of 0.002 with a correlation coefficient of 0.437, therefore the value of sig. <0.05 indicates a moderate positive relationship between mastery of figurative language and short story writing skills

Analisis dan pembahasan data dilakukan sesuai dengan konsep deskriptif korelasional. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan dapat diringkas sebagai berikut. Pertama, ada hubungan yang signifikan antara minat membaca, keterampilan menulis berita siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 24 Padang. Kedua, ada hubungan yang signifikan antara motivasi belajar dan keterampilan menulis berita siswa kelas VIII. Ketiga, ada hubungan yang signifikan antara minat baca dan motivasi belajar bersama dengan kemampuan menulis berita siswa.Kata kunci: membaca, motivasi belajar, keterampilan menulis berita

The results of the preliminary study in RA Al-Wafi's group showed that, there were several problems related to the use of gadgets with language development including many parents who relied on gadgets to make their children become "calm" or not fussy by tipping video shows or opening youtube. The purpose of this study is to find out the use of gadgets; language development and the relationship between the use of gadgets and the development of early childhood language. The method used is quantitative correlation. Data collection techniques in this study were through interviews / conversations and observations. The results of calculations on variable X obtained an average value of 1.76. This value is in the interval 1.1 - 2.0 with sufficient categories. Whereas, the Y variable obtained an average value of 2.66. This value is in the interval 2.1 - 3.0 in the good category. The relationship between the use of gadgets and the development of early childhood language is obtained by the correlation coefficient of 0.08. This correlation coefficient number is included in the very weak category because it is in the interval 0,000 - 0,199. The results of the significance test obtained the price of tcount = 0.54 smaller than the price of t table = 2.012. This means that Ho is accepted, in other words there is no significant positive relationship between the use of gadgets and the development of early childhood language. The amount of contribution / influence of the use of gadgets to the development of the language of early childhood is only 0.64%. This shows that 99.36% of language development in early childhood is influenced by other factors.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research was to describe things as follows. First, describes the skills of reading appreciative grade XI Senior High School 2 Padang. Second, it describes the writing skills text cerpen grade XI Senior High School 2 Padang. Third, explain the relationship between the reading appreciative with writing skill text cerpen grade XI Senior High School 2 Padang. This type of research correlation between appreciative reading skills and writing skills text cerpen of grade XI Senior High School 2 Padang is quantitative research with descriptive methods. Based on the reslt of the study, the following three things concluded. First, the appreciative reading skills of grade XI Senior High School 2 Padang are in good qualification (81,32). Second, the writing skills text cerpen on grade XI Senior High school 2 Padang are in good qalification (82.24). Third, there is a significant correlation between appreciative reading skills and writing skills text cerpen of grade XI Senior High School 2 Padang at n-1 degress freedom and a sicnificant level of 95%. Kata Kunci: korelasi, membaca apresiatif, menulis teks cerpen

The purpose of the study was to know the relationship between vocabulary mastery with a descriptive essay writing skills of language Germany. Data was collected using writing skill test. Data were analyzed through the Product Moment correlation. The population of this research is the grade XI IPA which consisting of 1 class, numbered 20 people. The sample was selected using the technique of  Total Sampling namely whole grade XI IPA that add up to 20 students. The results of this study showed that there is a significant relationship between vocabulary mastery with a descriptive essay writing skills of language Germany grade XI IPA SMA Karya Sahari Bulukumba (rh = 0,609 > rt = 0,444).

Secara formal, pembelajaran diterapkan agar siswa mendapat prestasi belajar. Salah satu permasalahan yang dihadapi yaitu daya tangkap siswa terhadap materi berbeda-beda, sedangkan jam pelajaran yang diberikan di dalam kelas sangat terbatas, sehingga pencapaian prestasi belajar tidak merata. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan usaha atau inovasi untuk menyelesaikan masalah tersebut, salah satunya dengan mengikuti pembelajaran kitab Riyadul Badi’ah. Belajar merupakan proses perubahan perilaku sebagai hasil dari pengalaman yang dialami. Kitab Riyadul Badi’ah merupakan kitab yang membahas tentang masalah-masalah fiqih. Dengan mempelajari kitab Riyadul Badi’ah diharapkan mampu mengantarkan siswa kepada pemahaman yang lebih baik dalam keilmuan Fiqih. Dengan begitu, siswa diharapkan akan memiliki prestasi belajar yang baik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pembelajaran kitab Riyadul Badi’ah di MTs Ashhabul Maimanah Susukan Tirtayasa Kab. Serang, mengetahui prestasi belajar siswa MTs Ashhabul Maimanah Sususkan Tirtayasa Kab. Serang pada mata pelajaran Fiqih, dan mengetahui hubungan antara pembelajaran kitab Riyadul Badi’ah dengan prestasi belajar siswa MTs Ashhabul Maimanah Sususkan Tirtayasa Kab. Serang pada mata pelajaran Fiqih. Metode yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif korelasional. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan berupa purposive sampling, yaitu pengambilan sampel berdasarkan tujuan tertentu, dan didapatkan 30 siswa sebagai sampel. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan meliputi observasi, dokumentasi, wawancara, dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa indeks koefisien korelasi (rxy) sebesar 0,70. Setelah dikonsultasikan dengan tabel interpretasi “r” product moment diketahui bahwa angka 0,70 berada di antara 0,60 – 0,80 dengan interpretasi variabel X dan Variabel Y terdapat korelasi yang tinggi. Selanjutnya, berdasarkan hasil uji signifikansi diketahui t hitung = 5,18 (> t tabel = 1,70), dengan interpretasi terdapat korelasi yang positif antara pembelajaran kitab Riyadul Badi’ah dengan prestasi belajar siswa pada Mata Pelajaran Fiqih. Adapun kontribusi variabel X dan Y dengan menggunakan koefisien determinasi sebesar 49%, sedangkan sisanya 51% dapat dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain. One of problems faced is the students' capture of material is different, while the lessons given in the class are very limited so that learning achievement is uneven. Therefore, it takes effort or innovation to solve the problem,one of them is by participating in the learning of Book Riyadul Badi'ah. Learning is a process of behavior change as a result of experience experienced. Book Riyadul Badi'ah is a book that discusses the issues of fiqh. By studying the Book of Riyadul Badi'ah, it is expected to be able to deliver students to a better understanding of Fiqh. That way, the students are expected to have good learning achievements. The purpose of this study were to find out the learning of Kitab Riyadul Badi'ah at MTs Ashhabul Maimanah Susukan Tirtayasa Serang District, to determine the learning achievements of students at MTs Ashhabul Maimanah Sususkan Tirtayasa Serang District on Fiqh subject, and to find out the relationship between the learning of Kitab Riyadul Badi'ah and the learning achievements of MTs Ashhabul Maimanah Sususkan Tirtayasa students in Serang District on Fiqh subject. The method used was a quantitative correlation. The sampling technique used was a purposive sampling, namely sampling based on specific objectives, and it was used 30 students as samples. The research instruments used included observation, documentation, interview, and questionnaires. The results showed that the correlation coefficient index (rxy) was 0.70. After consulting the interpretation table "r" product moment, it was known that the number 0.70 is between 0.60-0.80, with the interpretation of variables X and Y, there was a high correlation. Furthermore, based on the results of the significance test, it was known that t count = 5.18 (> t table = 1.70), with the interpretation there was a positive correlation between the learning of Kitab Riyadul Badi'ah and the student achievement in Fiqh subject. The contribution of variables X and Y using the determination coefficient of 49%, while the remaining 51% can be influenced by other factors. This research was conducted to investigate the relationship between two variables:  critical thinking skills and argumentative writing skills in Moroccan Preparatory Classes of Higher Engineering Schools (Classes Préparatoires aux Grandes Ecoles) ( CPGE), Omar Ibn Khattab Meknes . The participants were the 2nd year Maths and Physics (MP) students in CPGE, Omar Ibn Al Khattab Meknes. 60 students participated in the study from a total number of 120 students. The research adopted the correlation design to measure the degree of association between two variables using the statistical procedure of correlation analysis. In this regard, a critical thinking test (AssessmentDay Practice Test Experts, 2018) was administered to test  students’ critical thinking skills. Then, the students were asked to write an argumentative essay about social networking and creativity. To analyse the collected data, the study resorted to SPSS software (Statistical Package for the Social Science, version 23). Pearson’s correlation coefficient was used to investigate the significant relationship between critical thinking skills and argumentative writing. The result of the research displayed that the correlation coefficient is 0. 941, which means that the two tests are positively correlated and the correlation is very significant. The result of such correlation displayed clearly that critical thinking and argumentative writing have a positive relation.

Support services provide an essential role for hearing-impaired students attending public schools, in terms ofimproving their language and academic skills. In this study, the writing skills of hearing-impaired students enrolled inpublic schools were evaluated, and the relationship between the writing scores, audiological variables and educationalvariables were examined. Seventeen students, who were enrolled in in the primary and middle school classes of publicschools and benefited from the support services, participated in this study. The results of the study indicated that themean writing score of the students was 68.35 out of 100. It was determined that there is a relationship between the ageof first hearing aid and the duration of preschool education. According to the results of the study, it can be stated thathearing-impaired students enrolled in public schools benefit from the support services designed according to theirindividual needs, along with early exposition to implant and early inclusion in education.
