A Conceptual Framework on Promotional Activity Practices in Malaysian Education Resource Center

Objective - The purpose of this study is to provide an understanding whether there is a significant influence contributed by the activity in enhancing the education resource center's performance. The terms education resource center, school resource center, learning resource center and many others had been used interchangeably to represent a school library. The research intended to answer the following questions: What kind of promotional methods used by the education resource center in conducting promotional activities? What are the challenges faced by media teacher in conducting promotional activities? Do promotional activities affect the education resource center performance? Methodology/Technique - There should be an active encouragement towards a continuous usage of the education resource center, thus promotional activity can be seen as a vital approach in the delivery of comprehensive along with efficient services. Findings - Consequently, this can facilitate in building the perception of need and improve the image of the library. Novelty - Education resource center is vital to learning and act as a central point for engagement with all kinds of reading, access to information and knowledge building. Various efforts have been made by teachers or educator managers to further improve and support a more effective and efficient learning process. Although many factors determine the quality of education or learning outcomes, one of them is related to the learning resource center. The problem in this research is how to increase the role of the school library as a learning resource center. The purpose of this research is to make a strategic plan for the development of the school library in achieving educational goals, namely the results of students who excel. The method used in this research is the determination of the criteria weight based on the hierarchy using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the determination of some criteria using the Delphi technique. The results showed that strategic priority using the AHP concept obtained 5 strategies, namely 1) Common learning services with the highest weight, 0.42. 2) Multitasking service with a weight of 0.23. 3) Maker space service with a weight of 0.18. 4) Digital collection services with a weight of 0.11, and 5) Audio-visual services with a weight of 0.06.

“Biblioteche nelle Scuole” (in brief, “Biblioscuole”, i.e. Libraries at Schools), a three year school library pilot project, has been carrying out since 2004 in Italy to improve school librarians competencies and school library services in order to provide an easy access to information for teachers, pupils and their families, and to promote social inclusion. The Project and some reflections - based on learners’ interaction - about the first part of the education and training course, are presented here.

The aim of the this research is to uncover the reality of the learning resource centers in Saudi Arabia and the extent of their effectiveness in performing the role entrusted to them and to present a proposed vision to develop them in light of the vision of the Kingdom 2030. The researcher followed the descriptive descriptive approach to reach the reality of the learning resource centers in the Kingdom, identified the strengths, opportunities, and challenges of the current and future. The study revealed the importance of the Learning Resource Center in the process of teaching and learning and achieving the vision of the the Ministry of Education that has supported the learning resource centers with the equipment which helped to provide the services of the center at a good level, but to the present, it requires more support in terms of furniture and equipment, providing Internet service and updating digital and non- digital resources so as to increase the efficiency of work. Finaly, the researcher presented a number of recommendations and suggestions for the development of learning resource centers in light of the vision of the Kingdom 2030.

Abstract: Learning the problems faced by women in the concept of women empowerment makes it important to always get a solution. Women's arisan groups become one of the place of empowerment for women to grow and develop in order to increase prosperity and equality. The issue of women's activeness in arisan groups is one of the problems that causes less successful empowerment to be implemented. Through survey methods conducted on housewives and professional groups who joined as members in arisan groups in Pekanbaru City by using questionnaires distributed to 31 members of the arisan group taken proportionally and analyzed by using multiple regression analysis and assisted with the program WarpPLS. The result of the research shows that education factor, status and amenability factor give significant influence to women activity in arisan group (P-value: 0,02, 0,03 and 0,01). Educational and status factors have a negative influence on liveliness and amenability factors have a positive effect. 26% of women's activeness in the arisan group can be explained through education factor, status and amenability.
