Examined the differences in mathematical ability of understanding and communication between students and Cooperative Learning STAD and students in hands-on learning. The subjects were students of class IV SDN Sarimulya II Cikampek. The study concluded: 1) The ability of the final mathematical understanding of students who received different STAD cooperative learning with the ability of students who received direct instruction. 2) The ability of mathematical communications students getting the same STAD cooperative learning with students getting hands-on learning. 3) Increased understanding of the mathematical ability of students who received STAD cooperative learning does not differ greatly from the ability of the students who received direct instruction. 4) Improving students' mathematical communication skills that got STAD cooperative learning significantly better than students who received direct instruction.

This study is a quasi experimental research, which aims to examine the achievement and improvement of communication skills and creative thinking and mathematical disposition of high school students through an exploratory approach. The sample consists of 2 classes amounting to 68 students of class XI one high school in West Bandung. Instruments in this study are each set of test description of the ability of mathematical communication, and a set of mathematical disposition scale. The study found that the achievement of mathematical communication ability of high school students who received learning with exploratory approach is better than those who received regular learning reviewed in whole and the students' early mathematical ability. Likewise, the improvement of mathematical communication ability of high school students who received learning with better exploration approach than those who received regular learning reviewed in whole and early mathematical ability of their students. However, there was no interaction between the exploration approach and the students' early mathematical ability that resulted in communication skills and mathematical disposition students. For the achievement of mathematical disposition ability of students whose learning using exploratory approach is better than students with ordinary learning reviewed overall and early mathematical ability, but there is no interaction of exploration approach and KAM that resulted in mathematical disposition of students. Besides, there is also a considerable relation between communication ability and mathematical disposition of students.

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan Untuk mengetahui apakah kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TTW lebih baik dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TSTS.  Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-4 dan kelas VIII-2 dengan banyak masing-masing siswa ada kelas yang diteliti 40 orang. Kelas VIII-4 diberi model pembelajaran TTW dan kelas VIII-2 diberi model pembelajaran TSTS. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini berupa soal pre-tes dan post-tes yang bentuknya sama. Tes ini berbentuk essay test yang banyaknya 8 soal, sebelum tes kemampuan komunikasi diberikan kepada sampel terlebih dahulu tes divalidasi oleh validator. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji hipotesis. Hasil pretest dan postest di kelas VIII-4 secara berurutan adalah 54,60 dan 77,89. Hasil pretest dan posttest di kelas VIII-2 secara berurutan adalah 53,67 dan 71,32. Hasil pretest diuji t dua pihak dan didapat hasilnya bahwa kemampuan awal kedua kelas tersebut sama. Hasil ketuntasan kelas yang diberi model pembelajaran TTW adalah tuntas sedangkan   kelas yang diberi model pembelajaran TSTS tidak tuntas, hal ini ditunjukkan dari presentase ketuntasan kelas yang diberi TTW sebesar 85% sedangkan presentase ketuntasan kelas yang diberi TSTS hanya sebesar 55%. Pada uji hipotesis yang menggunakan uji t dengan menggunakan hasil dan postest di kedua kelas diperoleh 2,438 dan  =1,667. Karena , sehingga  ditolak dan  diterima sehingga diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TTW lebih baik dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TSTS..Kata Kunci : eksperimen semu, Think Talk Write, Two Stay Two Stray ABSTRACTThis research aims to determine whether the mathematical communication skills of students who are taught using cooperative learning model TTW type better than the mathematical communication skills of students who were taught by using cooperative learning model TSTS type in SMP Negeri 22 Medan.  The sample in this study Is a student of class VIII-4 and class VIII-2 with many of each students there is a class which researched 40 people. Class VIII-4 was given a TTW learning model and class VIII-2 was given a TSTS learning model. Instrument in this research is a matter of pre-test and post-test that same shape. This test is essay test that the number of 8 questions, before the test of communication ability is given to the sample test first validated by the validator. This type of research is a pseudo experiment. Data analysis technique used is normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test. The pretest and posttest results in Grade VIII-4 sequentially are 54.60 and 77.89. The results of pretest and posttest in class VIII-2 sequentially are 53.67 and 71.32. The pretest result is tested by two parties and the result is that the initial ability of the two classes is the same. The result of class completeness given by model of TTW learning is complete while class which given by model of TSTS learning is not complete, it is shown from percentage of completeness of class given TTW equal to 85% whereas percentage of completeness of class given TSTS only equal to 55%. In hypothesis test using t test by using result and postest in both classes obtained 2,438 and   =1,667. Because , so  rejected and accepted so that obtained by conclusion that mathematical communication ability of student who taught by using cooperative learning model of TTW type better than mathematical communication ability of student taught by using cooperative learning model TSTS type in SMP Negeri 22 Medan.Keywords : Quasi Experiments, Think Talk Write, Two Stay Two Stray

The purpose of this study was to determine whether the mathematical communication skills and attitudes of students who were taught with the Think-Talk-Write (TTW) strategy were better than conventional learning. This research is a quasi-experimental research which compares two learning models, namely the TTW cooperative learning model and the conventional learning model. This research was conducted on students of class VII SMPS Mentari Bangsa Medan, which consisted of 2 classes. This study involved two variables, namely the independent variable and the dependent variable. The independent variable is the TTW and KAM learning strategy, while the dependent variable is the mathematical communication skills and attitudes of students towards learning. The sample consist of 42 students for TTW strategy and 37 students for conventional learning. The conclusion is that students who get learning with the TTW strategy have significantly better mathematical communication skills than students who get conventional learning (tcount = 4,93 more than ttable =1,66) and the attitudes of students who get learning with the TTW strategy are significantly better than students who get conventional learning (tcount = 3,14 more than ttable = 1,66).

This research is a quasi-experimental study that aims to determine the comparison of students' mathematical communication abilities with the cooperative learning model of the NHT and PPT media in class VII SMP Negeri 02 Ngabang. The population in this study were all students of class VII SMP 02 Ngabang consisting of 3 classes. The sample in this study was taken by using the Random Sampling Cluster technique. Class VII A as class I experimental class with 24 students and class VII B as a experimental class II with 24 students. The instruments used were pretest and posttest in the form of description. Data analysis uses the t test with a significance level of 5%. The results showed the average posttest for the NHT class was 72.5 and the average posttest for the PP class was 66.666. From the posttest hypothesis test results obtained t hitung> t tabel (1.9522> 1,667). Because t_hitung> t_tabel, H_0 is rejected and H_a is accepted. This means that students' mathematical communication skills taught with the NHT are better than using Power point media.

ABSTRACTThis research is motivated by the fact that the ability of mathematical communication in Indonesia is low. The models and approaches used in the learning process are one of the supporting factors for learning mathematics in the classroom. This study aimed to analyze SMA 1 Namlea students' mathematical communication skills with realistic mathematics learning assisted by GeoGebra. The research method used is quasi-experimental. WHO researched SMA Negeri 1 Namlea, Buru Regency. The analysis results show that the test instrument is valid and reliable to be used for pretest and posttest. The results showed that the mathematical communication of students who received realistic mathematics learning assisted by GeoGebra was better than students who received realistic mathematics learning without GeoGebra. The results also showed that there was a positive response from students towards learning realistic mathematics with GeoGebra.KEYWORDS: Realistic Mathematics, GeoGebra & Mathematical Communication

Abstract. The purpose of this study was to determine the mathematical communication skills of class VII students at Muhammadiyah Middle School in Pasir Penyu. This type of research is a Quasi Experiment with the design of Randomized Subject Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The data analysis technique in this test uses the t-test. Based on the calculation of the hypothesis test shows the significant value of the sample class is 0.003 <0.05. Based on these results, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded that the mathematical communication skills of students using the think talk write learning model is better than the mathematical communication skills of students using conventional learning models in class VII in the middle school Muhammadiyah Pasir Penyu.Keywords: Mathematical Communication, Think Talk Write

This research was motivated by the lack of learning tools that can improve students' Mathematical Communication Skills (KKM). Activities that can encourage students to improve KKM have not been designed by the teacher in the learning device properly. This study aims to produce learning tools by applying Problem Based Learning models to improve KKM. This development research used the ADDIE development model with the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The results of Syllabus, RPP, LKPD and KKM validation results showed highly valid criteria with percentages of 91.67%, 91.30%, 89.09%, and 87.15%, respectively. Practicality results indicate a very practical criterion with the percentage of small group trials at 95.57%, large group trials at 96.07%, and teacher responses at 96.25%. The effectiveness test results state that KKM of students who use learning tools with PBL models is better than KKM of students who use conventional learning.

This study aims to determine (1) the mathematical communication ability of students taught by the gallery walk type cooperative learning model is higher than the mathematical communication skills of students taught by conventional learning models (2) student responses through the application of the gallery walk type cooperative learning model to communication skills. mathematics students of SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan. The research method used is quasi-experimental. The population of this study were all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan. Sampling using simple random sampling. The sample is class VII-2 as the experimental class and class VII-1 as the control class. Data collection using a mathematical communication ability test sheet.The results showed (1) t_(count )= 3.56 and t_(table )= 1.67 or) t_(count ) > t_(table ) so that it can be concluded that students' mathematical communication skills are taught by cooperative learning model type gallery walk is higher than the mathematical communication ability of students who are taught by conventional learning models. (2) Based on the results of student responses, an average score of 3.55 was obtained so that it can be concluded that student responses through the application of the gallery walk type cooperative learning model to the mathematical communication skills of SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan students were very positive.

ABSTRACTThis study aims to improve students' mathematical communication skills through the application of cooperative learning model Match Mine on the subject of integers in classVII MTs2 Medan. This type of researchis a classroom action research. The subjects were students of class VII-1 MTs 2 Terra in TA 2014/2015 which amounted to 42students. The object of this research is the students' mathematical communication skills through cooperative learning model Match Mine on  the     subject of         integers. The research instrument used is th eobservation and test mathematical communication skills. This study consisted two cycles and at the end of each cycleis given test comunication is mathematical ability. Before given, test           first      validated to the  validator. The results showed that cooperative learning model in the material Match Mine integer scan improve students' mathematical communication. It is seen from the results before action is given, the provisi on of diagnostics tests of 42 students only as many as 15 students (35.72%), which reached a value ≥ 65 with an average value of 58.18 class. After agiven action, the first mathematical communication skills tests in the first cycle, from 42 students as many as 25 students (59.52%) reached a value ≥ 65 with an average value of 66.95 class. From theanalysis ofthe test data communication capabilities mathematicalI on the second cycle of 42 people found that the students are 37 students (88.09%) reached a value ≥65 with an average value of 74.38 class. Based on observation, learning management research conducted in the first cycle, including both categories with a scoreof 2.87. Furthermore,in the second cycle, the researcher's ability to manage the learning increased to 3.40 so very good category. Based on the above results, it can be conclude edthatby implementing cooperative learning model Match Mine can improve students' mathematica lcommunication on the subject of integers in class VII MTs 2 Medan. Suggestions submitted to the seventh grade math teacher at MTs Negeri 2 Medan advis able to provide training to students that many require students to provide arguments that students' mathematical communication skills especially in explaining aspect scan be increased, as well asprovide the opportunity for students express ideas/ideas verbally/ writing in the learning process, andusing learning modelKeywords : mathematical communication, communication, secondary school, classroom action                      research, match mine.

AbstrakMatematika merupakan ilmu abstrak, untuk mempelajarinya diperlukan kemampuan yang memadai. Salah satunya memiliki kemampuan untuk mengkomunikasikannya dalam bentuk ide, simbol, maupun bahasa matematika. Selain itu, komunikasi merupakan bagian yang sangat penting dalam matematika. Untuk mengembangkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis diterapkan pembelajaran Group Investigation. Pembelajaran ini menekankan pada keaktifan mahasiswa ketika pembelajaran. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa di salah satu perguruan tinggi swasta di Garut, dengan sampel dua kelas mahasiswa tingkat II yaitu kelas B sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas C sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis, yang digunakan pada pretest dan posttest. Analisis data pada hasil pretest diawali dengan uji normalitas kemudian uji Mann Whitney. Sedangkan analisis data pada hasil posttest diawali dengan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, kemudian uji t. Secara garis besar, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis mahasiswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran Group Investigation lebih baik daripada mahasiswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran konvensional. AbstractMathematics is an abstract science, to learn it required adequate capability. One of which has the ability to communicate it in the form of ideas, symbols, and math language. Besides, communication is a very important part in mathematics. To develop mathematical communication abilities applied Group Investigations learning. This lesson emphasizes student activeness. Population in this research were students in one private college in Garut, with sample of two classes of students of grade two that is class B as experiment class and C as control class. The instrument used in this research is a test of mathematical communication ability, used in pretest and posttest. Data analysis on pretest result begins with normality test then Mann Whitney test. While data analysis on posttest result begins with normality test, homogeneity test, and t test. In general, the results of this study indicate that the mathematical communication skills of students who get Group Investigation learning better than students who get conventional learning.
