This study aims, firstly to reveal the values that can be developed in the subjects of social studies. both want to know the efforts that have been done by IPS MTs teachers. in implementing character education in IPS learning. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive research. The research object is the teachers of IPS MTs in West Java who become participants of substantive training in increasing the competence of young teachers of IPS MTs. in Bandung Religious Training Center which took place on 06 s.d. April 17, 2017. Technique of data retrieval is done by interview, and filling in questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that; First the teachers carry out character education in IPS learning as a hidden curriculum (hidden curriculum). Both learning strategies conducted by teachers in implementing character education in IPS learning is through learning materials and activities such as disciplinary cultivation, honesty, and responsible attitude, hard work, and never give up. Literature and character education are two things that can not be separated. Literature as a reflection of the life of the community generally teaches the reader to be able to understand the wisdom of the displayed story. Literature can be used as a medium of learning, especially in the process of internalization of the value of character education to learners. The value of character education in the literary work is expected to be followed by the students. Currently, Indonesia is experiencing moral degradation. The need for moral cultivation to the learners aims to create human beings who are virtuous in the future. Each subject has the right to internalize character education to learners. So in the Indonesian language, the process of characterization of character education can be done when learning on literary materials. This study aims to describe the value of character education in Solopos children's stories. this research is included in qualitative descriptive research. The results of this study concluded that in the story Solopos child, there is a value of character education that can be taught to learners, especially at the elementary school level. The results showed that this child's story can be used as a reference for teachers, as a medium to internalize character education at the elementary school level. Sastra dan pendidikan karakter merupakan dua hal yang tidak dapat dipisahkan. Sastra sebagai cerminan kehidupan masyarakat, umumnya mengajarkan kepada pembaca untuk dapat memahami hikmah dari cerita yang ditampilkan. Sastra dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran, terutama dalam proses penginternalisasian nilai pendidikan karakter kepada peserta didik. Nilai pendidikan karakter dalam karya sastra tersebut diharapkan dapat diteladani oleh peserta didik. Saat ini Indonesia sedang mengalami degradasi moral. Perlunya penanaman moral kepada peserta didik bertujuan untuk menciptakan manusia yang berbudi pekerti di masa depan. Setiap mata pelajaran memiliki hak untuk menginternalisasikan pendidikan karakter kepada peserta didik. Maka dalam bahasa Indonesia, proses penginternalisasian pendidikan karakter dapat dilakukan ketika pembelajaran pada materi kesastraan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan nilai pendidikan karakter dalam cerita anak Solopos. penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian diskrptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa dalam cerita anak Solopos, terdapat nilai pendidikan karakter yang dapat diajarkan kepada peserta didik terutama pada jenjang sekolah dasar. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa cerita anak ini dapat digunakan sebagai rujukkan bagi guru, sebagai media untuk menginternalisasikan pendidikan karakter pada jenjang sekolah dasar.

Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengungkapkan: (1) nilai-nilai semboyan maja labo dahu dalam pendidikan karakter;  (2) implementasi semboyan maja labo dahu dalam pendidikan karakter;  (3) efektivitas implementasi semboyan maja labo dahu dalam pendidikan karakter di MTs Negeri 1 Kota Bima. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus. Penentuan  subjek penelitian yang dilakukan dengan teknik purposive. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis kualitatif model interaktif dengan langkah-langkah: pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Nilai-nilai semboyan maja labo dahu sesuai dengan nilai-nilai dalam pendidikan karakter, yaitu: nilai religius, jujur, disiplin, mandiri, menghargai prestasi, dan cinta tanah air. (2) Implementasi semboyan maja labo dahu belum dirumuskan secara eksplisit atau dibakukan sebagai materi pelajaran. (3). Semboyan  maja labo dahu telah efektif memberikan pengetahuan moral tentang nilai-nilai semboyan maja labo dahu kepada siswa. Kata Kunci:   semboyan,  maja labo dahu,  pendidikan karakter MAJA LABO DAHU SLOGAN IN CHARACTER EDUCATION Abstract: The purpose of this research was to reveal: (1) ) the values of the maja labo dahu slogan in character education; (2)  the implementation of   maja labo dahu  slogan  in character education; (3) the effectiveness of the implementation  of maja labo dahu  slogan in character education in Public MTs 1 Bima City. This research is a qualitative descriptive research using case study approach in Public MTs 1 Bima City. Informants in this study were principals, teachers, and students of Public MTs 1 Bima City. Determination of research was subjects conducted with purposive techniques. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that: (1) The values of maja labo dahu slogan were in accordance with the values in character education, namely: religious values, honest, disciplined, independent, appreciating achievement and loving the homeland. (2) the implementation of maja labo dahu slogan in Public MTs 1 Bima City was not formulated explicitly or standardized as subject matter. (3) The slogan maja labo dahu has effectively provided moral knowledge about the values of maja labo dahu  to learners. Keywords: Maja labo dahu slogan,,  character education

The purpose of this study is to find out the methods and strategies used by SD Muhammadiyah 2 Krian in learning in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. This study examines various as-pects, among others: the history of the establishment of SD Muhammamdiyah 2 Krian, learn-ing methods, learning processes, learning strategies and learning breakthroughs during the covid-19 pandemic conducted by teachers who teach at SD Muhammadiyah 2 Krian. In the process of this research using qualitative-descriptive methods. Data retrieval techniques in this study through interviews, observasai and photos during the research process. This study aims to uncover and conclude how the stategi learning during the covid-19 pandemic by SD Mu-hammadiyah 2 Krian, as well as knowing the origin of the establishment of SD Muhammadi-yah 2 krian, as well as schools in general strategies conducted in SD Muhammadiyah 2 krian this by usingblended learning or mixed learning between online and offline, applications used when online is google meet, youtube, or whatsapp and sometimes there are offline or face-to-face in the learning process conducted at SD Muhammadiyah 2 Krian in addition to the break-through in online learning conducted by teachers, there are many challenges in doing the learning process. But even so, learning does not have to be in school and in the classroom of teachers of SD Muhammadiyah 2 Krian still do the learning process through google meet, youtube or some kind of application that exists such as whatsapp in the hope that students can learn despite having to learn from home and ensure the learning process during the covid-19 pandemic is still running, and learning objectives can be achieved even in the current covid-19 pandemic conditions.

Literacy has become a crucial position in education, especially in Indonesia. It is used as one of ways to develop education through developing the culture of reading, writing, and counting. The study aims to find out benefits and challenges of implementing storytelling in teaching literacy. The study employed a qualitative descriptive research design. The data were obtained from students� interview and observation. The findings found some benefits in implementing teaching program which include using two languages as the medium of interaction, providing suitable learning materials and various media, using of dramatization to show a character�s expression, asking moral value of the story as an evaluation instrument, developing students� literacy ability, arousing students� imagination, enriching students� vocabulary, and developing students� reading awareness and interest. Meanwhile, some challenges found in implementing teaching program are students� proficiency and length of texts. Based on those findings, it is suggested to provide more times to truly explore students� literacy ability and their preference in story.

The purposes of this research are analyze the effectiveness of online learning strategies used during teaching and learning activities and analyze the obstacles experienced during online teaching and learning activities. The research method used is qualitative descriptive research. Qualitative research is a research that is descriptive and describes the object of research/events studied and using analysis. The research results were obtained through extracting data through interview, observation, and documentation. Some data will be loaded in the form of diagram to show the research results obtained. The conclusion obtained is that this research is a descriptive qualitative research which aims to describe the learning strategies at Muhammadiyah 10 Junior High School Sidoarjo in English subject during the Covid-19 pandemic.

As a medium of communication, a song has a great impact on children’s development. A small number of children song generate children to sing adult songs, however, there are some adult songs which are not suitable the children in relation to lyrics and theme. The incomprehension of the lyrics and meaning existed in the song can be psychologically influential for the child’s development. This study analyzes the role of Walt Disney’s cartoon soundtracks for character education to children. This is a qualitative-descriptive research, taking observation and in-depth interview to 10 informants who have children of 7-11 years old in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The results stated that the soundtracks How Far I’ll Go and Let It Go bring positive characters in contents that are useful for character education. The character education taken from lyrics of the songs is conveyed and developed by vocabulary enrichment, the discussion in easy-digested language, and storytelling. These require special time. The good changes in children’s good characters happen by time and process. Therefore, character education needs to be continued and developed in different ways.

Folklore is a story that originated in society and developed in society in the past which played an important role in the development of children's character learning in the form of moral values. The purpose of this study was to explain the moral values contained in folklore to improve character education. This study used a qualitative descriptive research design. Where all the data collected is based on books and other supporting document data. From the discussion of the Timun Mas folklore, there are eight prominent moral values, namely religious values, independent values, curiosity values, hard work values, responsibility values, honesty values, creativity, the value of the spirit of hard work. And from the research results, it can be concluded that the folklore of Timun Mas has many moral values that can be applied in the world of Education to shape character.

This study aims to determine the effort to shape student character through the activities of intra-school student organizations (OSIS) in SMP Negeri 6 Singaraja. The research method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive research method that is research with direct decrease in spaciousness. In this study the determination of subjects and research objects using purposive sampling techniques, is data retrieval with several considerations so that the data will be more representative of all. Data collection using the method of observation, interviews, documentation and study of literature. Checking the validity of the data is obtained through data triangulation, method triangulation and source triangulation. The results of this study indicate that: (1) Character values applied through OSIS activities in which almost 18 character values are applied to students or all school members according to their respective portions. (2) One of the efforts to form student character through student council activities by participating in various activities that have been designed by student council, because in these activities can form student characters including participating in LKDS (Student Leadership Basic Training), in addition to other student council activities that can shape the character of students by conducting raids on every Saturday able to improve the discipline of all students in the school. (3) The obstacles in the effort to form student character through student council activities include lack of confidence in the student council members or student council organizers in carrying out activities or participating in activities, the difficulty of regulating hours between playing, studying, and organizing, this happens because of background and economics differentstudents.

<em>Natural phenomena formed on earth such as the formation of mountains can be used as a means for humans to always think and increase curiosity. In the world of education, natural phenomena can be used as a medium for learning. This study aims to analyze and study the legend of Gunung Wurung as a teaching material based on local wisdom and strengthening the character education in elementary school. The legend of Gunung Wurung is one of the folklore located Karangsambung area, Kebumen, Central Java. This research is a descriptive research. The research data was obtained from the results of observations and interviews with residents around the Karangsambung area and the results of the teacher perception questionnaire SDN 02 Kuwayuhan. Data analysis techniques used a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of the analysis show that: 1) The legend of Gunung Wurung turned out to be less well known to residents around the Karangsambung area; 2) The legend of Gunung Wurung can be used as an alternative material in thematic learning in elementary schools based on local wisdom; 2) Character education values in the legend of Gunung Wurung include religious character, respect and obedience, cooperation, hard work, social care, patience, and commitment.</em>
