The way a person orders his food is the next big thing that technology aims to change. The purpose of the study is to empirically examine the factors determining the behavioral intention of customers towards online food delivery services with food delivery aggregators in India. The study has segmented the online food delivery (OFD) dimension into two domains, namely performance and experience factors. Performance factor includes technical attributes like website quality including features like ease of navigation, information quality, and interaction and control over order. Experience factor includes constructs like convenience, price value, and perceived credibility. Three hundred four questionnaires were collected to empirically test the research model using PLS path modeling and important performance matrix approach. The data was collected during pandemic period when people needed to be ensured by the service provider of the hygiene and safety protocols followed by them, ensuring credibility.

Purpose This study aims to propose the effect of five sub-dimensions of the expected benefits, which include compatibility, social influence, convenience, function and emotion on attitude and behavioral intentions. Design/methodology/approach A research model including eight hypotheses was tested using 413 samples collected in South Korea. Findings The data analysis results indicated that the five sub-dimensions of expected benefits aid to enhance attitude, which plays an important role in the formation of behavioral intentions. Originality/value This study was designed to empirically identify the important role of expected benefits in the context of drone food delivery services for the first time.

Online food delivery services have experienced tremendous growth in the food industry. Food delivery apps had gathered this opportunity adjusting to restaurant and food delivery services as an alternative to increasing income and for customers to remotely order their foods. This study aims to determine the relationship between information quality, performance expectancy, effort expectancy and social influence with continuous use intention of food delivery apps from Malaysian young adults’ context. In this study, a total of 300 sets of questionnaires were successfully collected. The data was interpreted using SPSS Version 25. At the end of the study, it was found that the results of the analysis to be a positive relationship between information quality, performance expectancy and social influence with continuous use intention of food delivery apps among young adults. This study also revealed that social influence as the most influential factor affecting continuous use intention of food delivery apps.

PurposeThe study aims to examine factors that influence customers' intention to use online food delivery applications using a smartphone. The factors examined in this study are based on the existing theory of Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) namely performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, information quality, price-saving orientation and time-saving orientation towards intention to use the applications. Moreover, this research model also has been expanded with an additional dimension, attitude towards online food delivery services which lead to the intention to use online food delivery services through a smartphone. Furthermore, the present study also tested the role of age as moderator constructs between attitude towards online food delivery services and intention to use online food delivery services through a smartphone.Design/methodology/approachThe study employed a quantitative method and 256 respondents participated in this study. The questionnaires are distributed using a convenience sampling technique and the data is analysed using partial least square approach.FindingsThe result shows that four (4) constructs, i.e. social influence, information quality, price-saving orientation and time-saving orientation have a positive relationship and significant effect on attitude towards online food delivery service where it enhances the intention to use the application. Attitude towards online food delivery services also has a significant effect on the intention to use. Furthermore, age was not found significant to moderate the relationship between attitude and intention to use.Practical implicationsThe output of this study has several practical contributions such as enhances the existing knowledge and skillset of the shared-economy industry, online food delivery service providers as well as restaurant owners in improving the quality of life of the customers. It also provides contextual knowledge and a deeper understanding of online food delivery applications for customers in Malaysia.Originality/valueThe findings provide a guiding principle for improving the present determinant factors, attitude towards online food delivery service and intention to use online food delivery applications.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to present the results of a study that explored human behaviour in response to political “facts” presented online by political parties in Scotland. Design/methodology/approach The study consisted of interactive online interviews with 23 citizens in North-East Scotland, in the run-up to the 2017 UK General Election. Findings Participants demonstrated cognitive and critical responses to facts but little affective reaction. They judged facts swiftly and largely intuitively, providing evidence that facts are frequently consumed, accepted or rejected without further verification processes. Users demonstrated varying levels of engagement with the information they consume, and subject knowledge may influence the extent to which respondents trust facts, in previously unanticipated ways. Users tended to notice facts with which they disagreed and, in terms of prominence, particularly noted and responded to facts which painted extremely negative or positive pictures. Most acknowledged limitations in capacity to interrogate facts, but some were delusionally confident. Originality/value Relatively little empirical research has been conducted exploring the perceived credibility of political or government information online. It is believed that this and a companion study are the first to have specifically investigated the Scottish political arena. This paper presents a new, exploratory fact interrogation model, alongside an expanded information quality awareness model.

PurposeThe rapid growth of artificial intelligence (AI)-based voice-assistant systems (VASs) has created many opportunities for individuals to use VASs for various purposes in their daily lives. However, traditional quality success factors, such as information quality and system quality, may not be sufficient in explaining the adoption and use of AI-based VASs. This study aims to propose interaction quality as an additional, yet more important quality measure that leads to trust in an AI-based VAS and its adoption. Design/methodology/approachThe authors propose a research model that highlights the importance of interaction quality and trust as underlying mechanisms in the adoption of AI-based VASs. Based on survey methodology and data from 221 respondents, the proposed research model is tested with a partial least squares approach. FindingsThe results suggest that interaction quality and trust are critical factors influencing the adoption of AI-based VASs. The findings also indicate that the impacts of traditional quality factors (i.e. information quality and system quality) occur through interaction quality in the context of AI-based VASs. Originality/valueThis research adds interaction quality as a new quality factor to the traditional quality factors in the information systems success model. Further, given the interactive nature of VASs, the authors use social response theory to explain the importance of the trust mechanism when individuals interact with AI-based VASs. This study explores the usage of mobile marketing tools in the market of restaurant food delivery services. While new mobile tools become available, the enterprises need to rationally select and use those tools. In the study, the market of restaurant food delivery in Ukraine has been analyzed, and the enterprises operating in the market have been classified based on their business processes. It was discovered that the usage of mobile marketing differs for aggregators and food producers, depending on their business processes and marketing goals. For each group of enterprises operating in the market, classification of mobile marketing tools has been done, and approaches for selecting mobile marketing tools by the stages of a purchase decision process have been proposed, based on marketing objectives at every stage of the purchase process. Online customer survey has been conducted, and the Kano model has been applied to estimate customers’ satisfaction and their attitude toward mobile marketing tools. Based on the research results, the practical recommendations for selecting the most suitable mobile marketing tools have been developed, and these recommendations take into account the interests of both sides: customers and companies implementing marketing tools. It was found out that the main selection criteria include enterprise internal business processes, marketing objectives, and customer attitudes. The recommendations developed in this study, provide businesses with the approaches necessary to rationally allocate their marketing resources.

Researchers and practitioners have long been interested in identifying the criteria that users consider important in assessing whether a system is worth using. However, past research in this domain has not taken into account the characteristics of a system's design and their quality in a systematic and comprehensive manner, which is likely to have limited the development of actionable design guidelines. The article addresses this issue by suggesting a research model that links user beliefs—which have traditionally been used in IT acceptance and success research (i.e., information quality, system quality, usefulness, and ease of use)—to their beliefs regarding the quality of three categories of a system's design (i.e., visual quality, page layout quality, and navigation quality) and testing it in the context of organizational intranets. The analysis of data collected from 159 intranet website users in three organizations supported the model, suggesting that the three categories of design quality beliefs significantly influenced users' assessment of their system's information quality and system quality.
