Position Sensitive Detector (PSD) is a new type of photoelectric position sensor. Compared with traditional CCD, PSD has high position resolution, simple circuit and fast response. Operational principle of PSD and how it can be used in vibration system are firstly shown in this paper. Based on the MCU, a vibration measurement system using a BOS-PSD0220 type sensor is designed. The system is then experimentally measured at the most sensitive area of PSD. The result is compared with data calculated by MATLABLE, which demonstrates PSD is a good choice for vibration measurement.

In the analysis of semiconductor position sensitive detector (PSD) based on the traditional structure, using dual ion implantation method to studying the new type of PSD structure. The new structure of the n-type silicon substrate by implanting a high dose, low energy boron ions and another high energy boron ion, Which subsequent annealing of 2h at 1050 °C in an ambient of dry O2to form a shallow and a low doped p-n junction. Experimental results show that the new structure of PSD can obtained high position resolution, smaller errors and nonlinear response time.

Highly reliable 3He gas detectors are most often used in neutron scattering experiments but have disadvantages such as low count rates and low position resolutions. In this study, a 3He gas detector system called NEUNET-HCR was developed, whose count rate is approximately 10 times that of the current NEUNET system, which was developed for a high position resolution with a low count rate. NEUNET-HCR achieved a maximum count rate of 535 kcps per detector, with a loss of approximately 30%. As the NEUNET-HCR system was developed based on the NEUNET system, various improvements were required to achieve the high count rate. Further, a high count rate was achieved in the NEUNET-HCR system without significantly degrading the position resolution.

Due to its high position resolution and fast speed, the position sensitive detector (PSD) is widely applied in micro displacement measurement. However, almost all PSDs suffer from high nonlinearity. In this paper, three kinds of PSDs and their advantages and disadvantages are introduced. Then principle of pin-cushion PSD is studied, based on which a new signal processing system is designed. The signal processing system consists of a high-precision sensor circuit and a software system integrated with a correction algorithm. The test result shows the linearity of the PSD is greatly improved.

A CsI(T1) scintillation detector with a two-dimension position-sensitive photomultiplier readout at RIBLL is developed. The position resolution of the detector was obtained with RIB 17N, and the performance of detector was simulated by using GEANT4. The simulation results accorded with the experimental ones. The reflection factor of the aluminum foil outside the scintillator plays an important role on the position resolution.
