Web services technology is loosely-coupled, language-neutral, platform-independent and open. Thus web services are suitable for cross-platform and cross-application integration. Study the web services integration, the data integration and the unified identity authentication with emphasis, and present a scenario of actualizing the integration platform. The platform provide a convenient and efficient unified entrance to assess the university information services. The user can effectively integrate the campus information resources by the application of this platform.

Direct towards the current research status of domestic drilling design, according to the characteristics of distributed, cross-platform and openness in Web Services, It is proposed to build a integrated drilling engineering design system included design basis, data support, drilling engineering design, cementing design, drilling fluid design and management of design result under the network environment using Web Services technology. The system would accomplished using Oracle9i and VS2008, so that it would become a reality that more drilling engineering staff or design staff distributed in different parts in a unified software platform for collaborative design.

With the increase in urbanization, the surface of earth and its climate are changing. These changes resulted in more frequent floodingand storm inundation in urban areas. The challenges of flooding can be addressed through several computational procedures. Due to its numerous advantages, accessible web services can be chosen as a proper format for determining the storm inundation. Web services have facilitated the integration and interactivity of the web applications. Such services made the interaction between machines more feasible. Web services enable the heterogeneous software systems to communicate with each other. A Web Processing Service (WPS) makes it possible to process spatial data with different formats. In this study, we developed a WPS to automatically calculate the amount of storm inundation caused by rainfall in urban areas. The method we used for calculating the storm inundation is based on a simplified hydrologic model which estimates the final status of inundation. The simulation process and water transfer between subcatchments are carried out respectively, without user’s interference. The implementation of processing functions in a form of processing web services gives the capability to reuse the services and apply them in other services. As a result, it would avoid creating the duplicate resources.

With the quick development and widespread application of modern information technology, the remote fault diagnosis service has become a reality. The paper focuses on the implementation of remote fault diagnosis system. In order to meet the developments and requirements, the remote fault diagnosis system uses the Web Services technology based on B/S structure, and realizes the distributed and cross-platform remote network communication. In addition, ActiveX control is embedded in web, and this realizes the field data collection, remote audio and video interaction and so on; and this also makes up the insufficiency of B/S structure and lightens the burden of Web server. The system has been greatly improved in the real-time performance of work and security of communication. The system fully meets the requirements of remote fault diagnosis.

The diversity of mobile terminals makes M-Commerce’s development face difficulties. Web Services technology is an application communication standards which independent from platform, component model and programming language, it can simplify the development of cross-platform application. This paper studies how to adopt Web Services-based technology to build M-Commerce platform and establishes an m-commerce platform example using the Web Services integration solutions provided by .NET Framework.
