At the early stage of an emerging disease, information is often insufficient for governments to determine what actions are necessary to contain its transmission. Taiwanese society was not prepared when the SARS epidemic hit in 2003. After the SARS epidemic, Taiwan began to overhaul its Communicable Disease Control Act authorising the government to act in a murky situation without the fear of violating due process. In hindsight, the new law has contributed a large part to the effective containment of Covid-19 in Taiwan. However, a new issue emerged concerning the conflict between an individual’s freedom of confidential communication and the government’s use of cell phone positioning to monitor self-quarantine. Although Taiwan’s Council of Grand Justices previously resolved the concern over potential breaching of due-process, the legislature may have to strike a balance between public health emergency and the use of an electronic footprint to trace individual activities.

Abstract The principal effects of Brexit on health and health care will fall within the United Kingdom, and all forms of Brexit have overwhelmingly negative implications for health care and health within the UK. This article focuses on the external effects of Brexit (“Brexternalities”) for health and health care. The EU is a particularly powerful institutional and legal arrangement for managing economic and political externalities in health policy as in any other policy. Equally, when a state leaves the EU, the manner of leaving will result in better or worse management of relevant externalities. Brexternalities thus involve questions about policy legitimacy and accountability. Health Brexternalities do not fall equally in all EU countries. They are felt more distinctly in the context of those elements of health policy that are most closely entwined with the UK's health policy (e.g., on the island of Ireland, certain areas of Spain, and other parts of southern Europe). Some health Brexternalities, such as in medicine safety, will be imposed on the whole population of the EU. And some health Brexternalities, such as communicable disease control, will be felt globally.

The implementation of the Non-Communicable Disease Control Program carried out in Posbindu PTM is a concrete manifestation of community participation in implementing early detection, monitoring and early follow-up of Non-Communicable Disease risk factors independently and continuously. Rokan IV Koto I Community Health Center has implemented PTM control in an integrated manner but the scope of Non-Communicable Disease prevention and eradication efforts is still low at 53,9%. The purpose of the study was to determine the implementation of the control program for non-communicable diseases in Posbindu PTM Rokan IV Koto I Community Health Center seen from input indicators and processes of the Non-Communicable Disease Control Program. This type of research is qualitative. 8 informants consisted of midwives midwives in charge of posbindu, mobilizing midwives, monitoring midwives, counselor doctors, recording cadres, Head of Sub-Division of Administration, community leaders, BPJS. The tringulation used is source tringulation, methods and data. The results of the study show that inputs (human resources, incentives, facilities and facilities) have been done well even though the use of Posbindu PTM facilities and equipment is not yet available in every village. The process (identification of potential PTM problems, implementation of activities and program innovations, recording and reporting, early risk follow-up and referral of PTM) has gone well. BASMI PELAKOR 1 innovation was able to increase the coverage of community visits to Posbindu PTM to 57,4% which previously had been in 2018 at 53,92%. Suggestion for Community Health Center to facilitate the formation of partnerships in each village through CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) to buy their own tools, deliberation with the community to determine the Posbindu PTM schedule that is mutually agreed upon, involve community participation in implementing BASMI PELAKOR. Keywords : Implementaon of PTM Control Program, Input of PTM program implementaon. PTM program implementaon process.

The emerging outbreak of the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) originated from Wuhan poses a great challenge to healthcare system in China.1 Primary care practitioners (PCPs) have an important role in district communicable disease control.2 However, because primary health-care system in China still needs to be substantially strengthened,3,4 whether PCPs are proactive and capable in responding to the outbreak remains unclear. Using an electronic questionnaire, we surveyed a national sample of PCPs to assess their response to novel coronavirus outbreak.

Control of communicable diseases is one of the core components in health protection practice. This chapter describes key concepts and principles related to communicable diseases and their management. According to World Health Organization, the number of deaths due to communicable diseases reduced from 12.1 million in 2000 to 9.5 million in 2012. However, malaria, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, and neglected tropical diseases remain the major health challenges for the global community. Moreover, new emergent and re-emerging diseases constantly present new health risks. For the coming decades, globalization, changing behavioural patterns, lifestyle, and technological outcomes will pose major challenge to communicable disease control and management. The increasingly urbanized lifestyle and high-density-based living will also render most city-based communities vulnerable to living environmental pressure and communicable disease risks. Effectiveness and success in future communicable disease control rely on global coordination and cooperation.
