Today, in the realm of Industry 4.0, vastly diverse Internet of Things (IoT) technology are integrated everywhere, not to mention included in academic programs in schools and universities. Domain ratio of the final year projects in Universiti Teknologi Mara exposes a staggering hype in IoT as compared to other domains despite not having IoT included in any of the courses. Meanwhile, to fulfill the needs of the student in exploring this technology, an integrated IoT learning platform is developed. It integrates an IoT smart home model and a web-based interface as a learning platform to inspire hands-on learning for the students. The raspberry pi, motion sensor, analog gas sensor, atmospheric sensor, ultrasonic proximity sensor, and rain detector sensor are integrated together in a Lego-built smart home model where its connectivity and readings are displayed in a simple web interface to enable and inspire learning. A manual to set up the entire model is also prepared as a guide for students to set up and further explore the functionalities and operabilities of “things”.

Machine learning algorithms for link prediction can be valuable tools for hypothesis generation. However, many current algorithms are black boxes or lack good user interfaces that could facilitate insight into why predictions are made. We present LinkExplorer, a software suite for predicting, explaining and exploring links in large biomedical knowledge graphs. LinkExplorer integrates our novel, rule-based link prediction engine SAFRAN, which was recently shown to outcompete other explainable algorithms and established black box algorithms. Here, we demonstrate highly competitive evaluation results of our algorithm on multiple large biomedical knowledge graphs, and release a web interface that allows for interactive and intuitive exploration of predicted links and their explanations.

We present a multiomic cell atlas of human lung development that combines single cell RNA and ATAC sequencing, high throughput spatial transcriptomics and single cell imaging. Coupling single cell methods with spatial analysis has allowed a comprehensive cellular survey of the epithelial, mesenchymal, endothelial and erythrocyte/leukocyte compartments from 5-22 post conception weeks. We identify new cell states in all compartments. These include developmental-specific secretory progenitors that resemble cells in adult fibrotic lungs and a new subtype of neuroendocrine cell related to human small cell lung cancer; observations which strengthen the connections between development and disease/regeneration. Our datasets are available for the community to download and interact with through our web interface (https://fetal-lung.cellgeni.sanger.ac.uk). Finally, to illustrate its general utility, we use our cell atlas to generate predictions about cell-cell signalling and transcription factor hierarchies which we test using organoid models.

Model-Driven Engineering is largely recognized as the most powerful method for the design of complex software. This study deals with the automated archival of metadata about the content of UML class diagrams (a particularly relevant category of models) into a pre-existing repository. To define the structure of the repository, we started from the definition of a UML metamodel. From the latter, we derived the schema of the metadata repository. Then, a parser was developed that is responsible for extracting the useful information from the XMI file about class diagrams and enters it as metadata into the repository. The parser has been implemented as a Java web interface, while the metadata repository has been implemented as a PostgreSQL database based on the JSONB data type. The metadata repository is thought to support modelers in the initial phase of the process of the development of new models when looking for artifacts to start from. The schema of the metadata repository and the Java code of the parser are available from the authors.

Abstract Background The rapidly increasing biological literature is a key resource to automatically extract and gain knowledge concerning biological elements and their relations. Knowledge Networks are helpful tools in the context of biological knowledge discovery and modeling. Results We introduce a novel system called NETME, which, starting from a set of full-texts obtained from PubMed, through an easy-to-use web interface, interactively extracts biological elements from ontological databases and then synthesizes a network inferring relations among such elements. The results clearly show that our tool is capable of inferring comprehensive and reliable biological networks.

Each production requires a system monitoring, so efficiency that the desired and productivity can be achieved and monitored in real time. This system is needed in the type of press machine production which is mainly influenced by based production lead time. The monitoring process is one of the factors that influences the time of production and manufacturing. Conventionally, the system is monitoring carried out manually by the operator on a piece of paper. This method tends to create errors and quite a long time. This paper aims to overcome the problems that occur by creating a system that is able to record and monitor the machine automatically. The solution is made by utilizing a sensor limit switch, infrared, pressure transmitter and Wi-Fi network based on Web Interface that is connected to the Firebase real time database. Equipped with PID control using the Ziegler Nichols 1 method to stabilize wind pressure on the system. Monitoring devices can be accessed on PCs, laptops, smartphones, connected to the internet, equipped with user-level operators, management, or engineers so that they can be used easily. All production data for each press is collected in a database. The data will be processed by the system to produce a value OEE machine. All data will be displayed on the Web Interface in real-time. The system output is the actual production, value OEE and wind pressure control. The test results show the system is running well, with 2s delay time and data accuracy of ± 0.2%.

The objective of the study was to carry out, with the aid of Scopus®️, a scientometric analysis of Loop Mediated Isothermal Amplification Assay (LAMP) applied to farm animals. The research has considered articles from January 2000 to December 2019 and only open or closed access articles published in English. The bibliometric matrices were run through RStudio, applying Biblioshiny as a web interface to Bibliometrix resources for R environment. Later, several bibliometric data were collected with the aid of Bibliometrix, most of which were converted into graphs using Microsoft Excel®️. The scientometric analysis base of the current study was composed by 438 articles from 504 researched in the Scopus®️. Of the 438 articles analyzed, it stands out as results: 1) the years of 2015 (11,4%) and 2019 (11,4%) had equally the highest number of publications in the area; 2) Journal of Virological Methods (12,5%) ranked first in the ranking of journals according to total articles published; 3) China (49,8%), Japan (12,7%) and India (7,1%) have been countries of more published articles; 4) most articles applied the assay to detect microorganisms affecting the farm animals; and, 5) together, the animal groups fish, bovine, poultry, and swine corresponded to 2/3 (71,1%) of the animals used in scientific research using the LAMP method. With all these results, it is concluded that the scientometric analysis showed an overview of the information in the articles about LAMP applied to farm animals.

Two genes are synthetic lethal if mutations in both genes result in impaired cell viability, while mutation of either gene does not affect the cell survival. The potential usage of synthetic lethality (SL) in anticancer therapeutics has attracted many researchers to identify synthetic lethal gene pairs. To include newly identified SLs and more related knowledge, we present a new version of the SynLethDB database to facilitate the discovery of clinically relevant SLs. We extended the first version of SynLethDB database significantly by including new SLs identified through CRISPR screening, a knowledge graph about human SLs, and new web interface, etc. Over 16,000 new SLs and 26 types of other relationships have been added, encompassing relationships among 14,100 genes, 53 cancers, and 1,898 drugs, etc. Moreover, a brand-new web interface has been developed to include modules such as SL query by disease or compound, SL partner gene set enrichment analysis and knowledge graph browsing through a dynamic graph viewer. The data can be downloaded directly from the website or through the RESTful APIs. The database is accessible online at http://synlethdb.sist.shanghaitech.edu.cn/v2.

Daisychain is an interactive graph visualisation and search tool for custom-built gene homology databases. The main goal of Daisychain is to allow researchers working with specific genes to identify homologs in other annotation releases. The gene-centric representation includes local gene neighborhood to distinguish orthologs and paralogs by local synteny. The software supports genome sequences in FASTA format and GFF3 formatted annotation files, and the process of building the homology database requires a minimum amount of user interaction. Daisychain includes an integrated web viewer that can be used for both data analysis and data publishing. The web interface extends KnetMaps.js and is based on JavaScript.
