This article is based on research that explored the different forms of political satire on social media and examined whether political satire has any impact on the political perception of the youths. Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and so on. A mixed methodology was adopted in this research involving content analysis and survey. This study was conducted in Kuala Lumpur involving 50 respondents from the age of 18 to 40 years old. Content analysis was used to explore the forms of political satire. There were seven different forms of political satire analysed in this research, namely, political graphics by Fahmi Reza, political cartoons by Zunar, political anime from a Facebook page entitled “Bro, don’t like that la, bro”, memes from “SarawakGags”, “HarakatDaily” satirical news site, Dr Jason Leong’s satirical tweets on Twitter and parody videos by Douglas Lim. These themes were derived from social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. The study found that political satire has profound impacts on the political interests of the youths as it not only helps to increase their political understanding, it also presents political issues to the youths in creative and interesting ways. It is argued that political satire will grow faster and shape the political thinking of the youths especially. The direct effects of political satire, however, on voting inclination, are still inconclusive and need to be explored further.

The aim of this work is to assess the potential of using video games as a means of positioning the foreign policy of the Russian Federation. The research methodology is built by combining an expert survey with elements of descriptive analysis and case study. Within the framework of this study, 10 expert informal interviews were conducted using online video communication services. The author comes to the conclusion that video games have high potential in terms of being used as a resource for positioning Russia's foreign policy. A high degree of genre differentiation makes it possible to use them as a tool to influence the political perception of all segments of the target audience. Game genres, which are potentially attractive to a wide range of users who do not have a sustained interest in political topics, are the least resource-intensive. At the same time, within the community of gamers, there is potentially already formed consumer demand for a new product that belongs to familiar genres, but has an original storyline. The practical significance of the work lies in the development of specific recommendations that can be used in the framework of the program for the creation and promotion of appropriate video games. The theoretical significance is manifested through the possibility of improving explanatory models through the analysis of the revealed empirical material.

The article examines the image of China in Kazakhstani society, analyzes the perception and attitude of Kazakhstan’s population towards China. Based on the results of a survey of Kazakhstan’s population (N = 2,594) and an expert survey (N = 23), the authors identify the principal stereotypes about China in the mass perception of Kazakhstanis. Also, the authors assess the level of awareness of the population about China and its projects and the perception by the Kazakhstani people of the economic, political and socio-cultural influence of Kazakhstan’s eastern neighbor. In addition, the article examines the attitude of Kazakhstanis to bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and China and the manifestations of Sinophobia in Kazakhstani society and identifies the main factors of anti-Chinese sentiments in society. The article also presents the authors’ original model of the China Perception Index in Kazakhstan, which consists of four parameters that reveal the level of cultural, economic and political perception of the country’s eastern neighbor. The results of the study establish that the general attitude of the Kazakhstani society towards China is neutral. The main factor that influences the perception of China is the degree of the Chinese investors’ presence in the region. The study proves the correlation between the duration of the presence of Chinese investors and the scale of business, on the one hand, and the level of perception, on the other: the longer the history of presence in the region, the less positive the attitude of the population towards China. Along with this, the study demonstrates a positive relationship between educational achievements and the China Perception Index. Thus, Kazakhstani citizens with an academic degree (Index = 0.24) have a significantly more positive attitude towards China, compared to those with a secondary technical and vocational education (Index = 0.09).

Currently, one of the relevant areas of political and psychological knowledge is the study of the content component of the images of power. The author in this article analyzes the image of the Government of the Russian Federation that has developed in the minds of Russian citizens. The image of power is the result of political perception, the formation of which is influenced by a combination of various factors: object, subjective, temporal, spatial, communicative. The theoretical basis of the study is the theory of political perception. The process of political perception is complicated by the fact that the individual’s attitude to power and its activity is formed not only as a result of access to the media, but also based on stereotypes inherent in the mass consciousness and based on the experience of the individual’s interaction with the government. The empirical basis was the data obtained as a result of a study aimed at studying the image of the Government of the Russian Federation in the minds of Russian citizens. The author of the article revealed some features of the perception of the Government of the Russian Federation by Russian citizens, for example, such as increasing the emotional level of perception and rejection of the current model of interaction in the "power-society" system, the need of citizens in a high-quality dialogue with a political institution. The article analyzes in detail the visual component of the image of government, as well as the subjective and objective factors that determine the process of political perception. The author comes to the conclusion that in the current realities of the political development of our country, there is some contradiction in the “power-society” system: even though confidence in power is declining, society is ready to compromise and dialogue.
