Abstract A methodology for comparing the energy efficiency of different methods of regulating the total productivity of a blower station is presented. The basic principles of electrical modeling of duct networks are shown for the mathematical description of their properties and characteristics. The results of a comparison of the energy efficiency of regulating methods for a single fan and a group of five fans operating on a common line are presented. The conclusion about the high energy efficiency of the combination of start-stop control with smooth control using axial guide vanes for a blowing station of five fans is obtained.

This study aimed to analyze various conceptions of approaching flat feet in children, trying to highlight the similarities and the differences between the theoretical and clinical approaches of the rigid and flexible flat feet. Although they have much in common, it was not possible to clearly determine a national or international standard framework of assessment and measurement of flat feet in children. The researchers studied for this paper offered guidelines for measurement, various theories, assessment approaches and relevant scientific arguments, however it is still not possible to delineate a common line for standardization in regard to measurement and assessment

The objectively best language is intended to refer to some metaphysically privileged language that ‘carves reality at its joints’ perfectly. That is, it is the kind of language that various ‘metaphysical deflationists’ have argued is impossible. One common line of argument amongst deflationists is that we have no means to compare languages that all express true facts about the world in such a way to decide which is ‘better’. For example, the language is physics is not objectively better than the language of economics, as each language has the semantic purpose of expressing some domain of truths about the world inexpressible in the other language, and therefore neither could be ‘objectively best’. This chapter argues that metaphysical deflationists have failed to recognize a distinction between fine- and coarse-grained semantic purposes of languages, and that a recognition of that distinction provides us grounds to compare languages to see which is objectively best. It argues that once we recognize the distinction between fine- and coarse-grained semantic purposes, then we can see that it is relative to the coarse-grained purpose that we must compare putative objectively best ontological languages.

AbstractWe developed active-matrix in-plane switching liquid crystal displays (IPS-LCDs) with a new vertical structure composed of thin-film transistors (TFTs) that have an aperture ratio of 60% to reduce energy consumption. The novel TFT has a channel and a back channel made of a hydrogenated amorphous-silicon semiconductor layer sandwiched by thin silicon oxide insulating layers. The transfer characteristics are enhanced by uniformly shifting the threshold voltage to be higher than the maximum LC driving voltage (typically > 5 V). The enhanced TFT characteristics provided with a new driving scheme and shielding electrodes enables both the common line and black matrix to be eliminated. We fabricated an IPS TFT-LCD panel with aperture and contrast ratios that are 160% those of the conventional pixel structure.

This paper aims to study spacelike surfaces from a given spacelike curve in Minkowski 3–space. Also, we investigate the necessary and sufficient conditions for the given space-like curve to be the line of curvature on the space-like surface. Depending on the causal character of the curve, the necessary and sufficient conditions for the given space-like curve to satisfy the line of curvature and the geodesic (resp. asymptotic) requirements are also analyzed. Furthermore, we give with illustration some computational examples in support of our main results.

In this paper we study to find parametric presentation of a surface family with common line of curvature in 3-dimensional Galilean space. We obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the curve to be a common line of curvature on this surface. We state examples to visualize our results and we obtain some results for a torsion free curve.

The concept of "Theory of Mind" (ToM) is defined as the cognitive ability to represent one's own and others' mental states, in terms of thoughts and beliefs, but also of desires, demands and feelings, so that one can explain and predict behaviour. In this work the theoretical profiles, the main reference models, the related neurobiological and clinical profiles are analysed, orienting future research on the question whether or not it is interesting to further investigate the theoretical aspects under examination, such as empathy and the perception of the self and the other in relation to the neurobiological components, to draw a common line able to connect the loss of these functions with the accentuation or the onset of certain pathologies, wondering whether it is the functional compromises of these capacities and functions that cause the psychopathological condition to arise or whether it is rather the disease that induces the dysfunctional modification of these capacities or functions.
