This paper analyzed the multi-machine repairable system with one unreliable server and one repairman. The machines may break at any time. One server oversees servicing the machine breakdown. The server may fail at any time with different failure rates in idle time and busy time. One repairman is responsible for repairing the server failure; the repair rate is variable to adapt to whether the machines are all functioning normally or not. All the time distributions are exponential. Using the quasi-birth-death(QBD) process theory, the steady-state availability of the machines, the steady-state availability of the server, and other steady-state indices of the system are given. The transient-state indices of the system, including the reliability of the machines and the reliability of the server, are obtained by solving the transient-state probabilistic differential equations. The Laplace–Stieltjes transform method is used to ascertain the mean time to the first breakdown of the system and the mean time to the first failure of the server. The case analysis and numerical illustration are presented to visualize the effects of the system parameters on various performance indices.

AimsDespite the abundance of opportunities available for medical students to explore the field of psychiatry, active immersion through experiential learning has proven to be difficult for pre-clinical year students as a result of a busy time table and the need to wait for psychiatry postings during the clinical years. Hence, the question of “how to implement experiential learning of psychiatry in pre-clinical years” arises. This study is aimed to elucidate the attempts that have been made to use research as a proximate approach to learn psychiatry experientially, focusing specifically on the challenges faced and lessons learned by a pre-clinical medical student.MethodThis self-study outlined the informal three-months learning-by-doing journey of a year-one medical student, supervised by a psychiatrist registrar. Employing research as a proximate approach of experiential learning for psychiatry was explored based on reflection from discussion during supervision meetings and messages exchange. The agreed learning method was an active involvement in research projects on psychiatry topics, with the learning outcome of producing publications.ResultThe challenges faced included: 1) the difficulty associated with striking a balance between an ambitious project with high impact versus a feasible smaller project to keep both parties motivated through the means of short-term accomplishment; 2) the ongoing requirement for learning process adjustment to build the foundational knowledge essential for progress. Through active and deliberate effort, every step in the process was found to be an opportunity for active learning. Literature review, for example, was used to build the understanding of psychiatry topics and practise critical appraisal skills, while allowing for the recognition of knowledge gaps, which ultimately encouraged future research idea synthesis. The process of writing and submitting a manuscript was used to learn publication-relevant skills including: journal impact calculation, referencing, indexing and abstracting services, and publication ethics. Certain future proof skills were also developed, including literacy in information and communication technology which improved efficiency of research, problem solving and decision making. This was done using pros and cons whenever difficulties were faced.ConclusionAlthough research is not a comprehensive substitute for clinical posting in the process of learning psychiatry, the lessons learned from psychiatry research can potentially serve as an initial exploration tool for preclinical-year medical students interested in the field. The stimulating process has found to be effective in stimulating further interest in psychiatry but maintaining it will be the next challenge.

Abstract - West Java Province has a very unique and strategic geographic field challenge as a province with the largest population in Indonesia and as a province that is at the forefront of supporting the rapid dynamics of development in the capital city DKI Jakarta. In realizing equitable development, as stated in the West Java Provincial Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) 2018-2023, infrastructure development is regulated in a priority scheme that aims to bring equitable development. One of the planned transportation infrastructure developments in the construction of Cikembar Airport, Sukabumi, is prepared to serve the development area (WP) of the Sukabumi area and its surroundings which is targeted for completion in 2023. In preparing the airport design, a projection analysis based on demand is needed first. which correlates with statistical data. Forecasting analysis (forecasting) the number of passengers at Cikembar Airport aims to obtain potential passenger demand and a description of the needs for terminal facilities through the collection of statistical data to be analyzed using the correlation method and the multiple linear regression method between the number of passengers as the dependent variable. Meanwhile, statistical variables such as population growth, tourist growth, and Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), Sukabumi, and West Java Regencies were determined as independent variables. In formulating the terminal room facilities, it refers to the standards issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation through SKEP No.77/VI Year 2005. Considering the moderate upward trend approach, the estimated number of passengers at Cikembar Airport passenger terminal in 2023, namely the year the airport is planned to be realized, is as much as 756,029 passengers with busy time passengers totaling 605 passengers. The operational area needed for the terminal in that year was 8,468 m2. Assuming the concession area provided is 30%, the total terminal area required is 11,643 m2. This area projection still meets the needs based on the estimated terminal area attached to the Cikembar Airport master plan, which is 12,000 m2.

Abstract Queuing is an important component of a process in service. Queues are formed in a company or institution due to customers. Disorderly queues are a big problem for all concerned. Where, disorderly queues occur at University Prima Indonesia at the time of tuition payment so that the campus has to carry out a crowded queue process and students have to stand waiting for the next call resulting in less effective and efficient even waste of energy for students and employees. This research designed a system of tuition payment queues using the First In First Out (FIFO) algorithm which aims to reduce the time students are queuing at the checkout at the time of tuition payment so as not to wait too long so that the time of students and campus employees is not wasted too much and reduce the crowded queue time. The result of this study is an android-based tuition payment system, which is useful for reducing student build up when paying tuition. Thus it can be said that the calculation result of P0 queue has a result of 0.25%, and the number of customers 3 people, the average customer in the queue has a value of 2.25, the total customer time is 20 minutes, and the average customer time in the row is 15 minutes, the server busy time is 0.75, and the server’s empty time is 0.25%.

The next month is a busy time for Evans and Prestwich, who are now back in London, as they fit writing their papers into a hectic business schedule. The importance of two learned societies—the Royal Society and the Society of Antiquaries—is explained, as is the craft of putting together a scientific argument. Prestwich’s original manuscript and the referees’ reports are used to show the process. Evans’s chance discovery of comparable implements to those they had found at St Acheul proves a game changer. They came from Hoxne in Suffolk and had been found, but forgotten, sixty years before. Revolutions rely on chance. Attention is paid to the case they made that stone tools were human rather than natural. Did Evans fall back on his knowledge of numismatics and his recent struggles with a patent law case to convince sceptics that the tools from the Somme were indeed evidence of ancient humans? The language of the flints is all important. As they prepare and present their evidence, the chapter picks up the story of Falconer and his niece, Grace McCall, who were introduced in Abbeville in Chapter 2. They are now in Italy, caught up in the latest phase of the Risorgimento war.

Queue is an occurrence where someone has to wait their turn to get service. Queuing processes in hospitals when processing outpatient registration medical records at the hospital often occur especially during peak hours. To overcome this problem, a solution is needed to improve service performance at the hospital. The queuing model used is the Multi Channel-single phase queuing model which has one or more services flowing by a single queue. The variables to be observed are time between arrivals, service time data and number of services assuming a Poisson distribution pattern. The results of this study will show the operator's busy time is 83.33%, the number of queues in a certain period (Lq) is 13 patients, the number of registrants in the system (L) is 14 patients, the waiting time in the queue (Wq) is 24 minutes, and waiting time in the system (W) is 30.06 minutes.
