(……) Modern automated technology process control systems and the chances of attacks on them are examined in this article. It studies worm virus, Stuxnet, and its detection at the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant. It also analyzes ways of carrying out attacks on critically important objects, and provides analytical tools for the security of technological process systems. The ways for discovering nodes compromised by the Stuxnet virus are proposed. The article considers technological network of typical topology and its typical vulnerabilities; it analyzes the Modbus protocol, the routing system, and passwords on Cisco routers.

The development and improvement of monitoring and process control systems is one of the important ways of advancing laser metal deposition (LMD). The control of hydrodynamic, heat and mass transfer processes in LMD is extremely important, since these processes directly affect the crystallization of the melt and, accordingly, the microstructural properties and the overall quality of the synthesized part. In this article, the data of coaxial video monitoring of the LMD process were used to assess the features of melt dynamics. The obtained images were used to calculate the time dependences of the characteristics of the melt pool (MP) (temperature, width, length and area), which were further processed using the short-time correlation (STC) method. This approach made it possible to reveal local features of the joint behavior of the MP characteristics, and to analyze the nature of the melt dynamics. It was found that the behavior of the melt in the LMD is characterized by the presence of many time periods (patterns), during which it retains a certain ordered character. The features of behavior that are important from the point of view of process control systems design are noted. The approach used for the analysis of melt dynamics based on STC distributions of MP characteristics, as well as the method for determining the moments of pattern termination through the calculation of the correlation power, can be used in processing the results of online LMD diagnostics, as well as in process control systems.

Abstract The article considers the problem of building a multi-agent system for solving information security problems of automated process control systems. The architecture of an intelligent agent is proposed and studied, the features of which are the presence of a set of models used both for assessing the security of a certain node of the security object – an automated system, and for making decisions aimed at increasing the level of security. The results obtained in the course of research improve both the scientific and methodological apparatus for integrating methods of multi-agent technologies, and expand the areas of its practical application.

The formation of foundry and technological defects in castings is largely influenced by the quality of casting molds, which in most cases is determined by the composition and properties of the molding mixture. To ensure optimal parameters of the molding mixture, automation and optimization of control of technological processes of mixture preparation, algorithms for the functioning of process control systems have been developed. The description of the circuit and methods of control using process control system presented. It was shown that the algorithms provide the calculation of the generalized optimization parameter according to the values of the main physical, mechanical and technological properties of the components of the molding mixture, sequential analysis and search of the optimum by the simplex method of Nelder–Mead with restrictions on several parameters. Subsystems of the process control systems considered, which enable to change quickly the technology according to the criterion of minimum defectiveness. The algorithm for calculating the values of the generalized criterion of the quality of the mixture includes a mathematical model “composition – properties” of the mixture, linking the content of the component of the molding mixture (spent mixture, quartz sand, lignosulfonate, bentonite suspension, water) with the values of physical, mechanical and technological properties (compressive strength in the wet state, rammability, formability, gas permeability, binder content, fluidity, wetness and crumbling). The current values of the quality parameters of the mixture are determined as a result of express analysis in the shop laboratory and by automatic sensors. The proposed algorithm of optimization control of preparation of the molding mixture enables to develop recommendations of technological and organizational nature and to set recipes of the molding mixture that minimize the level of defectiveness of castings. An adapted version of the algorithm has been tested for use in the preparation of various brands of molding and rod mixtures, which indicates its versatility.

This article discusses the use of Internet architecture in centralized automated process control systems for the purpose of monitoring and managing geographically distributed objects. The hardware components of the proposed architecture are described and the required functions are formulated. The methods of implementing these functions of centralized control systems based on this architecture are proposed: using internal algorithms of SCADA systems, or using microprocessor subsystems. The difficulties that are likely to be encountered when implementing all the required functions in the system being developed are described.
