Attempts to use the principles of classical homeopathy in animal treatment encountered impossibility to select drugs according to the similarity principle due to lack of verbal contact. We suggested a new method of choosing homeopathic remedies according to the similarity principle based on the phenomenon of interdependent conditions in animals and their owners. The accumulated experience enabled us to confirm that this method is correct and productive, as well as the recommendations for diagnostics and treatment of different diseases in domestic animals.

Recently, solid wood furniture has become the new direction for the development of Chinese furniture industry. In order to realize solid wood customization, the standardization of solid wood parts is a problem for high priority. In this study, a standardized experimental study on children’s solid wood furniture parts was carried out by using group technology. Twenty pieces of children’s solid wood furniture were selected, including 1084 parts in total with 705 solid wood parts. Then, three key structural features of the parts were analyzed based on the processing similarity principle, including the center line of the long side direction of the parts, the shape of the outside surface of the long side direction and the shape of the outside surface of the short side direction. Moreover, these parts were classified according to the principle of process similarity. Accordingly, a children’s solid wood furniture parts family was established, and the distribution of parts in the family was analyzed. In detail, the parts with the dimensional difference within 2 mm were combined, the dimensional value was mainly based on the value of most parts before the combination and part specifications were optimized on the basis of the original specifications or its 1/2 method. The results show that the category of thickness specification reduced by 20, and the number of parts included in one thickness specification increased by 2.2 times on average. Moreover, the category of width specification reduced by 12, and the number of parts included in one width specification increased by 1.47 times on average. This not only greatly improves the degree of standardization of solid wood parts but also provides theoretical and practical basis for the digital design of mass customized children’s solid wood furniture.

It is proposed to numerically model large deformations of porous specimens, using the 3D- similarity principle in structural elements, which makes it possible to account for the inhomogeneity of the stress-strain state due to the presence of pores and allows one to vary the number of representa- tive volumes without changing porosity values and dimensions of the specimens. A methodology for determining true deformation diagrams of materials, using the results of compression tests, has been de- veloped. The efficiency of using the 3D-similarity principle is demonstrated by comparing the numerical and experimental results for the example analyzing compression of porous specimens of an aluminum alloy with free lateral surfaces and fixed in a rigid cartridge

The molecular similarity principle has achieved great successes in the field of drug design/discovery. Existing studies have focused on similar ligands, while the behaviors of dissimilar ligands remain unknown. In this study, we developed an intercomparison strategy in order to compare the binding modes of ligands with different molecular structures. A systematic analysis of a newly constructed protein–ligand complex structure dataset showed that ligands with similar structures tended to share a similar binding mode, which is consistent with the Molecular Similarity Principle. More importantly, the results revealed that dissimilar ligands can also bind in a similar fashion. This finding may open another avenue for drug discovery. Furthermore, a template-guiding method was introduced for predicting protein–ligand complex structures. With the use of dissimilar ligands as templates, our method significantly outperformed the traditional molecular docking methods. The newly developed template-guiding method was further applied to recent CELPP studies.

Abstract Based on the analysis model of unipolar grounding fault occurred in two-terminal MMC DC distribution network, the characteristics of unipolar grounding fault are studied. The similarity characteristics of transient currents between the fault line and the non-fault line are analyzed when the fault is located in the feeder, tie line and bus respectively. According to the characteristics of single-pole grounding fault and the similarity principle, a new single-pole grounding protection method for DC distribution network based on two-terminal MMC is proposed. The simulation results show that the proposed single-pole grounding protection method can accurately determine the single-pole grounding fault at any position of the DC distribution network. The research results can effectively solve the problem of single-pole grounding protection in DC distribution network, and effectively improve the security and reliability of DC distribution network.

In this paper, we deal with magmas the simplest algebras with a single binary operation. The main result of our research is algorithms for generating chain of finite magmas based on the self-similarity principle of its Cayley tables. In this way the cardinality of a magmas domain is twice as large as the previous one for each magma in the chain, and its Cayley table has a block-like structure. As an example, we consider a cyclic semigroup of binary operations generated by a finite magmas operation with a low-cardinality domain, and a modify the Diffie-Hellman-Merkle key exchange protocol for this case.
